Brilliant safety cell in these last Australian-made cars. Don't worry about the petrol cap coming off. That's just the anti-theft lid...the actual cap is still secure. The VF Commodore is one of the safest cars ever made. Not bad for GM's smallest offshoot with limited money for designs.
Bro have you seen the a pillars in these cars? This is hardly clever engineering. No shit they are safe with the a pillar is as thick as an elephants foot, problem with this is you are more likely to get into an accident in the first place as you can't see around it.
Considering this would have been the Pontiac G8 Sport Truck had it been imported to the U. S., I am impressed how well the ute handled the frontal crash
Just pulled the motor and transmission out of one of these,it hit a culvert at hi speed,rolled twice,spun around an went off the road, occupants all walked away,they are very strong car..
Interesting that the driver's curtain airbag blew up for frontal impact. Must have a smarter controller that knew the car is going to rotate in an offset crash.
It's great to see the last of the Aussie built cars performing so well in crash tests, but unfortunately way too late, and not good enough business decisions :-( .

Thank you for your feedback. The protocol for the ODB test is 64 (+/- 1) km/h, the Pole test is 29.0 (+/- 0.5) km/h and the MDB is 50 (+/- 1) km/h
