Compared to previous games made way earlier? Its the same type of cut scene they had almost 8 years before, they didn't upgrade anything so really, not top knotch. Command and conquer had better cut scenes and it was made before this game..so really this was bad...

@@samp.4380 Imperial City is one of the colloquials that was used to describe it, but I think as the canon got more and more solidified especially with Coruscant having a history outside of the Empire, the term isn't really used much. It is Coruscant, but I think I called it Imperial City specifically to describe it while it's under Imperial control. The Rebels can occupy it in the game so I used that to specify, I guess. Also, sadly there is no second cutscene where the Empire retakes Coruscant.

That or you don't understand size and perspective....in space you can out a star destroyer "next" to a super star destroyer and it look the same size. But they aren't next to each other, the super star destroyer is 10x further away which makes it look the same size.....its how the sun and moon look the same size, what the moon is 1/400th of the size of the sun and the sun is 400x further away which make it look the same size, but you KNOW they aren't the same size right?
Makes you think why they designed a original ship for a cutscene, but not the actual game. Although, these cutscenes could of been made before the full game was finished, so it could have been in the game and was cut out at the last second.

Granted, it's VERY similar, but the ship in X-Wing Alliance, the Otana, has sloped brace arms on either side of the cockpit, whereas the one here has straight ones. The Otana just has dorsal and ventral quad cannons. This one has dorsal and ventral double cannons, port and starboard cannons, and smaller turrets on each of the brace arms.
I don't know why TH-cam recommended me this, but for once, nice! I don't think I have ever seen this before as I always play as the Empire and I either never lose or I stop playing. Thanks for sharing.
Oops my mistake its actually a YT-2000 like Ace Azameen flew in Star Wars X-Wing Alliance. Basically a newer model of freighter than the m. Falcon style YT-1300. The Outriderwas a YT-2400 - a newer model than both.

That many warships surround your capital city, you would probably do worse. The animations in the scenes were good for their time. The actual combat was barely 3-d.
I'd have liked to see the Rebellion with less of an invasion force, and more a clever trap, after which the citizenry rise up and throw down the Empire themselves.
Yup - this is basically a scene depicting what happened in the books and comics that followed after Return of The Jedi. In RoTJ that scene showed an initial uprising when the Emperor had died and later it was explained that uprising was put down by the Imperials. It wasn't until 2 years later that the Alliance took control of Coruscant like the above cutscene, in the Battle for the Liberation of Coruscant.
You clearly don't know what sanction means 1. a threatened penalty for disobeying a law or rule. a punitive or coercive measure or action that results from failure to comply with a law, rule, or order.

Bit of a shame the Disney Alt-universe take on the Liberation of Coruscant felt weak, even if efficient when it comes to lessening casualties and damages on both sides of the conflict.

So the losing cutscene for the empire depicts you as having a super star destroyer as a base even if you didn't build one.
You start off in a Super Star Destroyer in the opening cutscene, but apparently aren't allowed to use it in the campaign.
Maybe it crashed immediately, spent absolutely ages getting fixed, then came out just in time for it not to matter.

That ship at 1:41 has plagued me since the day I saw it. I've never seen it anywhere else, though I did manage to draw it on my PC.
It's a Correllian Gunship, I think the exact class is called a DP-20, might be wrong though.
