I did some summer janitorial work at a school for a few years and we had to strip a floor that had 20 years and thus 20 layers of wax... the kind of wax that shows a forklift on the box. It looked so much better after, but it took some work... so I can relate!

Nice work what floor stripper remover do you use or a degreaser to get to the bare floor? Appreciate your help.

i have strip and waxed floors for years some time you have to make the striper stronger then you really want to also even though it says cold water new use cold water it will make you work harder you find out like will be easier with hot water just try it you will see

We have been stripping and waxing floors for 30 years. Never had a job this bad. Tried several different products noting worked great. Was some sort of “tree wax” made for wood floors.

@@SteamBossInc I have had wax do the same thing to it me it took a lot work it was yellow and dirty just like what you seen there it does some time take going over two times like that when it's that bad yes when people use the wrong type of wax on the floor that kind of stuff happens i see it all the time some folkes thing they can use any kind of wax

I'm not sure that's wax and not a urethane coating. Or wax on top of a urethane coating? I have a natural stone floor approximately 20,000 sq feet that has a urethane coating on it that floor stripper won't cut. Any suggestions or product that I can use to remove this finish?

You may very well be right. Unfortunately I do not.

  • @ohanachemdry808

Yup....we have done this with VCT sealers on tile and of course the grout has it much thicker than the tile surface....we charge big time $$$ to remove and I give our customers 2 choices on how we can charge....they can either pay by the hour the stripping process or I give a very high fixed cost for the stripping and I itemize this on the proposals....we just did a 42,000 sq.ft. warehouse for a good customer of ours and he wants us in quarterly to do the deep cleaning....the next time we do it I want to get the tire marks out for him....will have ro experiment on that without compromising the coating so will try our neutral cleaner to see how it goes in one area.

Does anyone understand that terrazzo floors were never meant to be waxed? Been a janitor since 1982 till present. People need to understand material and old products vs new products.

This was a job that you should have turned down. To have two people spend so many hours on one job you would need to charge the client a lot of money. And for that same amount they could have bought a new floor.

Obviously I can only speak for my self but I am here watching your video because I am trying to educate my self. But I keep running into the same problem with your videos. You dont give any details on what your using to do your work. You dont talk about equiptment, cleaners, or anything. I understand you have a bussiness and you want work, so your not going to give all the secrets out. But why would I watch videos of you working if that is all there is?
