The beaches around Puerto Plata/Playa Dorada and the north end of the island in general rarely ever get Sargasm seaweed that tends to affect other parts of the Caribbean. This is due to the direction of the tide. Generally speaking, the waters around the island of the Dominican Republic are not as crystal clear and turquoise as you would find in other areas in the Caribbean such as Barbados, Caymen Islands, Virgin Islands, etc.

Sargassum is currently very low on the north coast of the Dominican Republic so Puerto Plata is not affected in the same way as southern destinations like Punta Cana.

Just to clarify, we are a travel company. Our job is to inform travelers on activities and attractions in specific regions to help them plan their vacations. It is the job of the viewer to decide which activities are right for them based on their individual beliefs and preferences. For those that disagree with these types of facilities, it's easy - don't go. For those that are fine with such practices, it's an excellent way for a family to have an educational and unforgettable day.

Very sorry for the late reply. We appreciate your interest in our channel. Unfortunately, however, we cannot help you with booking, but we can give you some tips. There are tour companies in Puerto Plata that will book your tickets and some will pick you up directly from your hotel and take you to the facility. Or, you can book directly with OceanWorld and take a taxi to the park. Our best advice is to Google OceanWorld and contact them directly or any of the "reputable" tour companies that are listed.
