If you gave me free paint, unlimited minis and 20 years of experience, I still don’t think I could do this. I swear my brain just can’t process where to do highlights. This looks amazing. Great vid, guys.
Then cheat.
Find a dimly lit room and place the model on a table.
Use a lamp to create the light source from the angle you want.
Take photos of it and use for reference while painting.
Whenever I watch these videos, I see exactly what you're all doing at each step, you tell me what you're doing and why, and then I see the finished product and still go "What is this witchcraft!?"
But seriously, your videos have helped me improve my painting abilities one small step at a time (I'm still very low level, just working on improving my highlighting right now) while getting me dangerously close to buying a Warhammer army that I know I can't afford.

One thing I struggle with is how to make realistic micro-scratches and dents in nmm. Maybe a topic for a future video to dive deeper into.

I made the mistake of watching this before bed. I put off painting a elf warrior bust for a few years now because I was scared to paint it. I always wanted to paint it with NMM and this tutorial made sens to me in a way that left me super excited to paint. Thank you two so much for making this video.
