Side by side races are the best, before the 2000 the IRL was a joke. after the join of Andretti, Rahal, Penske and Ganassi teams and his driver's was it worth to watch.
Look I love road courses and all but today's drivers are way to chicken with ovals ik it mostly has to do with losing Dan at Vegas in 2011 Dan was one of my favorites but Dan said in an interview once that he loved those high speed ovals that should tell you something right there he wouldn't want indycar to pretty much avoid oval racing just because of him if your gonna be an indycar driver you should be able to Ace the road/Street Courses and the Ovals that's what made it great now it's almost all road courses how is it the most diverse series if it's either all ovals or mainly all road courses now I really fear that if someone has a fatal crash during the 500 they would make the 500 be run on the road course part which would kill Indycar and the 500 if your afraid of ovals go drive the grandma carts at Walmart
Fantastic archive footage. Thanks Indycar.
How appropriate to upload this race on 4th of July when this race happen on the 4th of July in 2004...
Nice overture! Paul Page still be a great commentator
Kansas, yet another track that would be a great addition to the schedule!
Yep my home track I was at this race it was amazing especially the final 20 laps wake up indycar we have plenty of road/Street Courses
No one could write an intro like Paul Page.
This Indycar race has high quality and very graphics than that other 2004 Indycar Kansas race
Awesome to have a race which took place on Independence Day be uploaded on Independence Day!
Green flag: 12:58, restart: 20:15
bring back this speedway
They need the old tv producer back. Great music choice
missing IndyCar at Richmond & Kansas because they are 2 fast but different ovals
...too fast for Chicagoland? lol
@@ILSRWY4 it depends on who you ask but I wish IndyCar was still racing at Chicagoland as well
If this was NASCAR, they wouldn't stop drooling for decades over the finish.

Remember this race good win for Buddy Rice he always was had success@ Kansas but don't remember race before Kansas
oof don't tell T-Bell this one's on lol
in my opinion, if you win all of your career victories in one year of competition, it's not much better than being a one hit wonder.
Kanaan’s championship year!!!!!
awww...back when indycar drivers actually knew how to drive on ovals and never bitched about doing it...
and also back when IRL drivers were afraid of right turns...

@@TheNFSJacobAfraid of right turns? Boy, an oval is scarier than a road course. Only thing scarier than an oval is real road racing.
