Whoever posted this video, thank you. I never knew it existed. I performed at Expo 74 at the Energy Pavillion. We did six shows a day, seven days a week. The surprise for me in this video is there is a still shot of me at time stamp 1:30. There's a short shot of a guitarist and a trumpet player. I'm that trumpet player. What great memories this clip brings back. We even had quite a few groupies that would attend almost every show of ours.

Born in Spokane, moved away for 8 years until I realized there is no place like home! I plan to live here until my last breath. I love this city!

I took pictures of the Union station right before it was torn down. I dropped my film off at a photo shop and when I returned a few days later the guy says all the film was exposed. A couple days later I see all my photos in the local newspaper. Yeah, I'm still mad about it 50 years later.

We had season passes to Expo 74. I have wonderful memories of an entire summer "playing" downtown Spokane. We didn't miss one day. Saw some of the pavilions many, many times. It was our first introduction to Bavarian Waffles with strawberries and whipped cream. What a fun summer!

They should have saved the old Union Station. It could have been a great building for commercial use with some foresight.

Interesting video...neat to see how it used to be. My folks went to the Expo when I was three, naturally, I wouldn't remember it.....but for some reason we moved to Spokane in 1978....I escaped in '92...while it has some beautiful country and lots of close-by outdoors things to do, the city itself is so insular and depressing.

I remember going to EXPO 74 it was a very nice set up and one of the best things that they did to downtown Spokane. Riverfront Park is very nice to visit in the summer.

Expo 74 was the first ever major event I ever attended. I was only a year old. I love my city and everything it has to offer!! And on a side note, I still have a sizeable piece of the canvas that was part of the pavilion!!

Jeez, I admit peoples, I lived there for the better part of my whole life. I couldn't wait to get the hell out, "too boring" i said. "nothing to do". What I didn't realize was when I got out and traveled this whole country that every place I lived since, Vegas, Chicago, Omaha, San Antonio, Forida, Oklahoma, were far worse than anythings I could have imagined. I miss Spokane and I cherish every oppurtunity I get to go back there. sorry ya'all don't like it!

I was stationed at Fairchild Air Force Base in 1974 when the fair opened. I remember seeing Nixon landing at the base in Air Force One and making a short speech before heading towards downtown to open the fair. This was right in the middle of the Watergate scandal and he resigned from office about two month's later.

Knoxville tn is the same size as spokane and hosted expo 81 and Expo. 86 in Vancouver was much better then expo 74, spokane would be better off today if the left all. 5 railroads in downtown spokane, spokane became a third world getto when the pulled the plug on downtown railroad up!!!!

Knoxville is way bigger, Vancouver did not hold expo 81, and Spokane is way nicer now.
