I just have to comment on "relic" guitars... Why on earth, WHY???
I've been playing guitar since 1980-ish and although some of my really well seasoned guitars (1960's) have wear from being played so much, both on and off stage, I try to treat all my instruments with the respect they deserve and I will get really upset for even a minor blemish or scratch - and I go to length to preserve them in as good condition as possible.
The contrast to this compared to people prepared to PAY more for a brand new guitar to be beaten up in order to look worn only screams fake/poser musicians to me!
The only thing I can somewhat understand is when an old and really worn instrument is being repaired and they attempt to make the repair look original, but only just...
A good quality guitar costs a bit of money but it'll last you a lifetime if you take care of it - and dragging it on tarmac and hitting it with chains isn't "taking care" imho.
