4:28 Some key Strat questions to ask yourself: modern vs vintage feel/specs (standard/professional vs american original or custom shop). 50s vs 60s sound? 60s is hotter/fatter for lack of better words. 50s is (very) plinky/chimey. ...and most importantly: large vs small headstock ;)

I love this Fender sound! So different from the Gibson and really brings out a different side that is equally expressive but a very bright yet warm tone. Also thanks for the great lesson!

Thanks again for sharing your great insight. As for which Fender Stratocaster if it’s for the smooth jazz type style with classic bell like clean tone you can’t go wrong with with low output single coils like the original vintage guitars. However we all know now better neck playability may mean going with a flatter radius fretboards as opposed to vintage spec 7.5inch. You seem to play a lot of open pore unfinished fretboards too so that option would be a specific factor if available. Cost wise well that is the final factor if it ticks all the boxes you’re after then enjoyment will surpass the initial price. If it’s necessary to pay that little more than you planned to get what really want in life so be it as there is nothing worse than trying just to save and not be happy. Realistically it’s more beneficial these days to shop for something that ticks all boxes not necessarily by brand. As the Stratocaster is the most copied and produced style of guitar options are vast. Good luck thanks again.

Play *any* Strat you see around, that's my suggestion. Once you're set with an impossible action Strat (and they're out there by the thousands!) or a badly installed bridge, you're going to look for a cure for years.
BUT you can always change color to a guitar you love to play, and you know the time and price of the deal. [I agree that the Vintera can be nice]

For a strat depends on your price point and how modern you want it to be or reissue. There is actually some cool Mexican made ones like the vintera series. Crazy thing is there is so many available options it kind of goes on what you want. kind of a gear head here. I would recommend checking out the vintera 50s and start from there and work up according to your budget to maybe the American performer for a base American strat or if you want I go more modern go American professional 2 which has the body carved at the neck for better access to the upper frets and push /pullpot to add the bridge pickup to any position on the basic 5 way switch. So you can get bridge neck combo and so on. I used to constantly trade in gear and have played them all pretty much. Just be cautious of the noiseless pickups they use in some models. Some people like them but for me they just don’t sound right. I’ll throw you a curve ball and say to try the am pro tele deluxe with the wide range humbuckers push pull so you could get single coil sounds also but no trem lol

Hello Rotem …. Strats.. there are strats and there are strats.. the older style US and Japan made by Fender strats are the best. I have owned and still own many strats and strat style guitars. They all need setting up right.. not just setup.. Considering you like to use MIDI look at Godin.. I have few Godins and love them.. Godin XTSA is HSH style strat with MIDI is built in. They are extremely well made Canadian guitars at a reasonable price. New Fender strats are way too costly for the quality that is coming out of their factories. The new MIJ strats are really well made and $1000 cheaper than new USA made and the quality is much better.
