Cristian Sosa I loved microscopes as a child. Seeing the world that close up was mind-blowing back then(Then being the early 00s, born in 94). Whenever I came home from school I would rush to the desk that was part of my bunk bed and mess with it.
I had a similar Tasco microscope, but it was black and only had a mirror for a light source. No filters, and I lost all the coverslips immediately. The kid is getting an Amscope B300T for Christmas on Friday, I'm more excited than she might be!
traveler actually made some decent digital cameras for ALDI. I had one and it was better than my steel framed canon Ixus 2, so if there are any, this might actually be a decent 1,3 megapixel camera.
Also, I was in a goodwill store about a year ago and picked up a microscope for about $3 USD. Came in a little wooden box with about 40 slides, 25 of which had stuff on them. Turned out to be from the 50s and worth about $60 USD. It was awesome.

Well, subtitles are used for many reasons, all are very valid. I do believe that there is a "translate captions" option in the cc settings, which may also be helpful, however, it's probably a bad translation. Also, I guess using English captions is helpful if you're using it to reinforce your knowledge of the English language. I'm just happy to see that people are using them, and I do love the positive feedback I see. :-)

Hello, sorry for not seeing this before. As you can see at the end of the video, I do the subtitles, and plan on doing them for every video (unless my ears disintegrate, or my eyes fall out of their sockets). They come out later than the video, so it's worth checking back a few days later if they're not immediately available. Glad they are getting some good use though. Comments like this give me faith that I'm doing SOMETHING right. :-)

I was clearing out a house and taking stuff to the recycling centre, and balanced on the corner of one of the huge skip things was this exact microscope, in its box, complete with super slide and spectra-rama!! I think the workers had decided to keep it instead of letting it get thrown away :).
I actually had the same microscope except it had some weird projector thingy that never worked properly. Good times. I'm gonna have to look for one of these to purchase now.
Interestingly, you can in fact take some pretty nice pictures with a normal microscope if you've got a steady hand and a digital camera. You can simply hold the lens of the camera right up to the eyepiece and snap pictures that way. It's a bit tricky because you have to get the microscope focused just right and also get the camera lens lined up just right. However, it can be done. I've taken dozens of pictures this way for some of my biology courses.
another good point to include subtitles is that it make it very easy to translate more other language subtitles (with spellcheck and grammar / sense check). Since the heavy part of the work (timecode) is done =D. TH-cam makes it easy.
And this is why it usually doesn't hurt to check the instructions before putting something together. :P It wasn't saying it was expensive that set you up. It was saying "It looks so simple to use, it's unbelievable" :)

The "next step up" (cost, complexity, support systems) would be EM - which is where the real fun (tech) begins. For those who may be interested - a VERY interesting career choice.
