    ABOUT THE UNTOUCHABLES RETROSPECTIVE
Praised for its quality and famous for its drama, The Untouchables television show (1959-1963) roared like the decade it portrayed in grand, theatrical style. A controversial and Emmy award-winning series, its legacy in film and television has been felt from The Simpsons to The Sopranos. In recognition of the program's 60th Anniversary, The Untouchables Retrospective is a detailed and nostalgic account of American television's finest film noir. Learn more at theuntouchables.co.
From 1959-1963, the series brought to life the nightly wars between good and evil in the streets of Prohibition Chicago. With legendary lawman Eliot Ness (Robert Stack) and his band of incorruptible agents leading the way for justice, famed reporter Walter Winchell providing staccato narration and guest stars breathing life into colorful underworld characters, the true story of The Untouchables became legend in a film noir mix of true history and Emmy award-winning fiction.

Indeed-- I have it all on DVD, and have seen it all; it's one of the best purchases I have ever made. This edition (with the commercials of the time) makes it even better, because it reminds us all of when we had one commercial in any break, and then back to the show; nowadays, you can go on any channel on cable or satellite, and there'll be commercials galore; my father often complains about how there'll be only 5 min. of show, and 10 of commercials.

This is outstanding. Makes every other crime drama look childish by comparison: e.g. the ones that start with a deal going down in a garage or warehouse, looking off (suspicious!), and next thing, men appear from out behind crates or cars --- and the guns are blazing! This is so much more interesting. If you upload another full
episode, will you mention it here? 🌞 Thanks.

What a treat!! I remember watching the Untouchables in the mid 70s. All the kids in the neighborhood would come over to watch. I LOVED the stories and the clothes! Unfortunately they yanked off because it was said it was anti Italian.

Paul Picerni (agent Lee Hobson) joined the USAAF during World War II and served as a B-24 Liberator bombardier in the China-Burma-India Theater. He flew twenty-five combat missions with the 493rd Bomb Squadron of the 7th Bomb Group and received the Distinguished Flying Cross. He was part of a mission that attacked and destroyed the actual bridge made famous in the film, 'The Bridge on the River Kwai' (1957).

I love these old time TV shows that also include the commercials from the day. It's like traveling back in time, only with the tech to skip them if you want. The Untouchables was always one of my favorites. Elliot Ness and his crew, in three piece suits, snap brim Fedoras, hoping out of cars with their Tommy Guns, great TV. And let's not forget the excellent narration by the late great Walter Winchell.
