The Epic-solution in Norway is horrible! Honestly the productivity in my health region has halved after switching to Epic and the costs have increased substantially. It’s harming patients and poisoning the work environment. The total lack of user friendliness is mind boggling, and reported issues are rarely fixed. It’s a total disaster. Reports from controlling authorities have attributed at least two deaths in the region as directly related to Epics solution in Norway - Helseplatformen.
How hard is it to get into healthcare space as an entry level software developer? What are the ways I can bolster my resume to increase the likelihood? Thanks!
It's not particularly hard - it's about the same as any other entry level software developer job. I'd recommend getting a solid tech internship, personal projects, and interview skills.
Question: If you have your work computer on hand and it seems hours are at your own discretion what would stop someone from doing some work at home? Is that not allowed?
I'd recommend getting familiar with software development in general. If you can, maybe take some courses, start some independent projects, and just really get your hands dirty with programming.

Hey I'll be starting as a TS at Epic this summer! Was just wondering how often do you meet with coworkers and your TL? Ik you probably don't want to film other people and there is a pandemic going on, but life seems pretty isolated in the office.
