I used to own a tortes when i was younger. Time caught up with her. Used to sray in my backyard during the summer. Had her almost 15 years. She was old when i got her.
Beautiful animals. I would love 1 of your tortoises but idk the laws on shipping to my state I live at the opposite corner from you Floridans lol Washington and man it gets cold in the winter 🥶 but anyway’s glad to see what you got and definitely love when the fellow TH-camrs make it out to your facility
Thanks so much for following
Beautiful, healthy looking animals. I wish I could have a pair!
❤
If I lived in Florida I would definitely get a Aldabra tortoise 🐢 but I live in California and I don’t think they would do very well in the winter months
I have lots of customers in CA just depends where, the colder the more indoor space and cost you have invest in
My ultimate bucket list animal!
1. I don't have the property
2. My country won't let them in
3. I'm older, and my health is not great
**sigh** A girl can dream, though.
Life is hard and most times unfair, because we don't really have much. We are not going to live as long as our pets so we have to be happy for what we have
Hi, i have 2 questions
1. Is it possible to remove the markings on the shell if wanted to or is it there permanently?
2. Where can i send you guys a picture at?
Hi MT!
1. Yes, it’s possible to remove the markings on the shell with nail polish remover.
2. You can send a picture to sam[at]floridaiguana[dot]com !
Thank you for your questions!
Do people in the States show tortoises at shows like us Brits show dogs at Crufts? Otherwise why does it matter if they have a double scutes or slight asymmetrical shells. As long as this doesn't generally harm the animal or means a possible shorter life expectancy, they are still beautiful and will have their own little personalities. I would love one of your little so called 'imperfect' ones.
That's a great question! Unlike dog shows that focus on specific breed standards, with tortoises, the primary concern is their overall health and well-being. Double scutes or slight asymmetry does not impact their lifespan or quality of life.
It's wonderful that you appreciate these 'imperfect' tortoises. Many people find their unique characteristics charming and part of their individual personalities. It's similar to how different coat patterns in dogs or fur markings in cats add to their unique charm.
I personally find a special connection with animals who have overcome challenges. Their resilience and individuality often shine through in remarkable ways.s
