John, Paul should just send you a check brother. That was AWSOME. Great demo as always but this was the best demo of this new PRS must have, I have seen. Long live Mr. PRS .
Fantastic demo JOHN. You put both through a tone parade! Your playing is always exquisite; could listen to you for hours! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Between them; the MYLES rose to the top for me. Could just be in your hands, but it had a real presence about it! 👍
John: I LOVE what you played at the opening of this video. I was just listening with Bluetooth earphones in another room, and when this came up in my playlist, I thought, "This is GREAT! I wonder who/what this IS!" I was happy to see it was you just having fun at the opening of a review video. Really beautiful, enjoyable playing. Thanks. BTW, those guitars sound fantastic.
Not a PRS fan but I kind of like these. Myles is an incredible musician and loves teles..funny thing is these new PRSs resemble the original snakehead tele design before Fender went to the 6 per side headstock!
Great playing. This is one of two videos that show that his guitar can sound like a tele and make me want to like it. All of the rest completely turn me away. Nice job.
I never liked the slide switch on teles. The Vintera took care of that by placing the pu selector above the neck pickup and then Fender added two volume and tone controls.
They kinda already did. Samick builds the PRS SE line. 20 years ago they built some Greg Bennett designed tele-ish guitars called the " Formula" (FA) They had a small ( very PRS looking) 3 per side headstock and some nice pickup options. You can find 'em used for 250$. The 2500$ saved will buy a lot of guitar lessons and bourbon. 🤔
Play that thang! 🙏♥️😄 Three things: One, love the look of those maple necks Two, love the HH thing goin' on with the pickups, And Three, I really like the sound of The MK one over the other one it's brighter and more open sounding! Just my taste And some Legato thrown in there to boot! 😂 All the best
OK. I'm 71. I've been doing guitar stuff since I was 13. I never thought PRS would make a Telecaster style guitar. Especially, that sounds like a Telecaster.
To me, it's a let down that they're basically making strats and teles. They should've just developed the pickups and made models with them in it or a Vela with them.
I’ve been waiting for years for PRS’s take on a Telecaster. I even bought a Brent Mason Signature model, and I was lucky to get it-I think they only made those in 2012. They got discontinued pretty quickly. But I really like the Myles Kennedy model! It looks great, sounds great-who would have thought that Myles would go for something that sounds like a great Tele? I thought he was a hard-rock guy!
Hey, Brent Mason owner here too… They actually made it for 2012 and 2013 (mine is a 2013). I really wonder which one of the MK or the NF53 is the closest to a vintage ‘50s Tele… I like that the MK has locking tuners, 5 way switch, tilted bridge PU, but I don’t know if it’s the best “Tele” of the two. I already have the Brent Mason, Silver Sky (for Strat tones), SC 594 (for Les Paul tones), so really now I want a PRS for Tele tones :)
Probably a silly question, but what is the name of that classic jazz tune John plays at 13:10? I can't put my finger on it and it's driving me crazy haha
Wow, if that was all off the cuff, great job. I wish every new guitar intro wasn't a TH-cam photobomb, and it takes me a while to find the good ones and watch. I love the finish of the 53, but I think I love the sound of the pickups in the MK. And the Bridge is a work of art compared to the stock version.
Thanks for the reviews. It would have been nice to hear just normal rthy playing instead of the short statactto notes to help it sound more Tele sounding
I love it, but I don’t get why the NF53 and MK Sig are not priced similar to the Silver Sky. I know there’s inflation, but still, they should be in the same price range… I really want a PRS Tele, but I’m not a huge Tele user so I don’t get why it should cost way more than a Silver Sky (since I’m a Strat player primarily).
They priced it like this to slow demand. If they were $1899, they couldn’t build them fast enough. They’re definitely not worth full retail. I had the Myles. Solid guitar.
John, I listened to your take here, because I found your demos of the SE Hollobody to be informative . And .. you have done the best demo (so far) on a guitar I will not be buying. I think there are Teles, and many Tele clones that already cover this territory, for far less $$$. Your demo does however, show how this guitar, may be several of the Teles rolled into one ( I still would rather have an Tele array,) 😄 I'd really rather see PRS use all their guitar acumen/expertise/ mojomagic... To do something unique and NEW, as opposed to "improving" Leo Fenders 70 year old (but tried & true) designs BTW NF 53 ??? Notoriously Fugly 53
The PRS SE line is built by Samick. 20 years ago Samick built a line of Greg Bennett designed tele-ish guitars called the " Formula (FA) They had a small ( very PRS looking) 3 per side direct pull headstock and single coils and a humbucker. They can be found for 250$ . That 2500$ saved could sure buy a lot of guitar lessons🤔
The pickups really do sound incredible. I know the build quality is top notch too. I just wish PRS did a different headstock for their vintage looking guitars.
There’s a lot of ways to do a modern styled , not direct copy of a fender tele that looks good and PRS totally flubbed it. These look like Harley Benton’s with good finishes.
Love you demos, nice looking guitar, but the pups are typical and lifeless. I've owned PRS and PRS SE guitars and I really tried to like them, but have sold them all. I'll take a Fender, Gibson or Ibanez. Another great video, Cheers
Different strokes, man. PRS’s quality control, fit and finish is miles above those brands. The Strat pickups in the Silver Sky are the best I’ve heard. The 58/15 LT humbucker is a beautiful PAF. The models sound and feel different. You’ve gotta try the right one.
Why isn't John playing in coliseums and arenas??? He is a much more accomplished guitarist than the ones he interviews that are playing in those venues...!
As a standalone guitar it's okay. But it will never replace my baby. A real Tele just has something. Paul should stop doing this. Fenders making Primo guitars nowadays. Also naming it a 53 is such a joke. Are we that gullible
The NF53 is built and voiced based on the 1953 Fender Tele from Paul’s vault… so it makes sense it’s name NF53, like the 635JM pickups are voiced around ‘63 and ‘64 Strats from John Mayer, so it became 635 (half way between a ‘63 and a ‘64). That’s the way PRS does their naming… still better than the FH589DKQE23L-ish from Ibanez
I don't like 'em. Look like any other Tele based guitar. Looks vague. I'm sure it's of usual PRS quality, but there's nothing that screams to me that I need one. John - Your playing has really taken a big step since I've seen you. Well done
? What does this mean? DLR can’t play guitar beyond rudimentary…. And isn’t a good vocalist (he was a great frontman however!). Myles Kennedy is not only a great rock vocalist , he is a very accomplished and excellent guitarist (not a great rock frontman I concede; but a great looking guy who is understated as a personna, and an overall great musician and songwriter first).
3+3 is better for tuning stability… I will take tuning stability over look! A lot of people said the same thing for the Silver Sky and couple years later, the Silver Sky is the best Strat you could possibly buy today at this price range. Users don’t give a damn about the headstock, they play their guitars…
I can't understand how a high graded professional reviewer of gear doesn't now that putting alnico magnet pickups in close proximity of other strong magnets is distractive. This two guitars pickups easily gould be out of PRS specs...

Love the old Marion James poster 😊
John, Paul should just send you a check brother. That was AWSOME. Great demo as always but this was the best demo of this new PRS must have, I have seen. Long live Mr. PRS .
All new guitars should be demo'd this way! Very creative and yet practical for letting me hear what they can do respectively. Bravo, John! :)
The versatility and clarity of the Myles Kennedy model is quite stunning. I'd kill for a guitar like this.
Love John's playing. I watch every video/demo he does, regardless of the equipment. Great work!
Thank you very much!
John is incredibly skilled, a true tradesman
Fantastic demo JOHN. You put both through a tone parade! Your playing is always exquisite; could listen to you for hours! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Between them; the MYLES rose to the top for me. Could just be in your hands, but it had a real presence about it! 👍
Glad you enjoyed it!
The high end is really nice in the Myles sig. I definitely prefer those pickups to the other set.
JB just rocks man … been a fan for years. Great interviewer and great player too 👍
Now that PRS have different takes on strats, teles, and les pauls I want to see a PRS Jazzmaster type!
And a warlock 😂🤘
I think there is a prs offset prototype out there if you search
@@justinguitarcia It's called a Vela, but not really a Jazzmaster sound-wise.
I’d like to see a Explorer or maybe a v.
@@ZeBubbayeah, the vela is definitely more of a gretsch substitute. Great guitar.
And the sunburst one goes home with John! Killer intro. Love it.
I wish the Sunburst stayed home with me. ... thanks for the kind words

Really love that Myles Kennedy , I'm a sucker for those sunbursts
A few demos of these out already. BUT…..as usual, only you showcase ALL the possible sounds. Great demo (again). Thanks!
Great playing. This is one of two videos that show that his guitar can sound like a tele and make me want to like it. All of the rest completely turn me away. Nice job.
Cool, thanks!
Excellent run down on these new PRS T Style guitars, and you're a really good guitarist too. 👍👍👍
This was the review we were waiting for! John, sounds amazing
Thanks John for that excellent and honest review as always. Those PRS sound very good to me. Looks like very versatile T-style tools 😍
Excellent review, thorough homework, good job!
Great demo! Love your playing. Both guitars are fantastic.
I never liked the slide switch on teles. The Vintera took care of that by placing the pu selector above the neck pickup and then Fender added two volume and tone controls.
I must admit these seem interesting. A lot more so for me than the silver sky
Great playin' JB!
Sounds dang good too.
Awesome intro and great review John, thank you
Almost 3K? No way. I hope this comes out in an SE so I can get one. Always love youyr demos Mr. B! Oh, btw - you just rip that guitar to shreds.

These are kinda giving me Collings vibes. Especially that doghair NF 53. Very cool take on the T style.
It’s amazing to see that he is not smiling when playing a guitar. Super focused Great play too!! 👍🏻
Knew that John would just crush the demo on this 🔥These kind of remind me of the Asher Tele style guitars and those have always been super cool.

Holy Crap! That is all I need is another guitar.
Take my money.

Probably the best comparison video on YT- thanks
Glad it was helpful!
That was a great toe tappin' two minute intro! Great demo with two awesome guitars.
Awesome video! Anyone know if there will be a SE version?
If their Strat is any indication, and it's successful, the SE will be released in 3 to 4 years.
@@Scott__C would be great if they do that
@@screaminguitar24 If it sells, you can guarantee it. They'd rather get - by that time - $1200 from a lot of people than $3k from a lot less people.

Check out Blue Bell Straps from Spain. Great workmanship

It sounds like a Tele because John is playing it. Everything he plays sounds like a tele.

One of the best players and axe reviewers on the planet. Guitars sound excellent. But for that kinda money?

They should have made a Brent mason tele. And made it more true to vintage visually. And 6 to a side tuners with vintage string into center hole pegs.

The pickups really do sound incredible. I know the build quality is top notch too. I just wish PRS did a different headstock for their vintage looking guitars.
But, they turned it the other way for John Mayer, lol.
What would/should it look like? I'm curious.

I think they sound more like a Les Paul Jr. Special than a Telecaster.
