Other way around, haha. They used APR's Evil-R kit for the Evo 8 and installed it. But if you do look at the Edmund's video of this car, it shows that it has MIVEC.
Wish they has this same sound for the 2F2F Evo 7 instead of a Honda engine. And no hate to Hondas but Tokyo Drift had the best accuracy in terms of car sounds.

Nah, this sound and the sound they used for the Evo 7 are entirely different. If anything the sound they used for the Evo 7 sounds a bit closer to something like a Civic.

@@NabilAbdillahXV people see the bumper and assume. Evo 9 had just come out prior to filming and arp hadn’t developed a kit to suit the evo 9 hence the evo 8 front bumper. Plenty of behinds the scenes videos show them testing the evo prior to kit going on.

they use honda sounds for a lot of the cars in the series. brian’s evo straight up had a vtec crossover sound at one point
