He was undercover though he could have been keeping some skills secret but he really didn’t know how to build a car and he wasn’t a street racer back when he hung with Roman they boosted cars together that’s how Roman got locked up and that’s where Brian got his driving skill

Why they didn’t go for an Evo or another Mitsubishi with the same engine, the 4G63T, is a complete mystery. In my opinion, they should have used the sounds for Suki’s S2000 which sounds nothing like an S2000.)

This scene made the Mitsubishi lancer Evo IX one of my favorite vehicles ever❤ and I love the director for using logic with the car because it only has six gears and it showed us every single time Brian has shifted gears❤ muscle cars think they're fast but if you don't have that power to gear ratio you're going to lose in the Long haul especially if the car you're going against has nos, AND MORE GEARS. If y'all don't believe that it showed every single time he shifted gears, the first time was when he pulled away from the barrels from the u-turn and he immediately went into second and that's why his car sounded like that. And the rest of the gear shifts you will literally hear and see them on screen

I grew up with this movie and just now realized all the shifts were legit….EXCEPT Brian hitting gear 6 at the end when the Evo VII only comes with a 5-speed…BUT who’s to say he didn’t swap trans. Tyrones hit all 5 gears👍
The giveaway is the centre white lines flicking past so slow but the cars are supposed to be doing 120 mph….it’s all about the cars and the culture, love the cars. The early films were a lot more fun to watch.
My comfortable cruising speed (where possible) is 149 mph. And they put nos in at 100 mph. That's 160 kmh. That's not racing. That's a family travel in a usual A6 Avant. (Guess my country)
