    Really good video man, nice work, also first person I've seen with the black printer (that's the one I'll be getting so thanks!!)

    Nice job! Looks like a daily decent little printer there.

    Hi Matt, thanks for sharing this comprehensive video of the assembly of the mostly built version of the Mini+! I see that noise is a concern of yours, you may want to look into "the paver mod" in which a large square concrete paver is placed under the unit along with a foam buffer. The sound level will decrease substantially.

      Definitely worth an investigation, though I’m not sure if my IKEA cabinet the printer is on top of would be able to support a concrete base! Thanks for the tip 😊

      @@akamatchstic I have the ikea enclosure for a while now and I did the square concrete modification. It is really worth it! And the enclosure haven’t suffered from it. Plus you could come up with creative way to make a video about it !

    Great Video Matt going to order one next week after watching that, Also anybody out there is the delivery & import process easy or difficult getting one, Thanks John.

      I found it was pretty straightforward importing to the UK, though not sure how that’ll translate elsewhere! Process was pretty much: wait for order to be handled by Prusa, get sent email updates about shipping progress, then I was called by DHL when the package was going though customs to pay VAT, and then the usual delivery process once inside the UK

      @@akamatchstic Thanks for that Matt wasn't sure when i'd have to pay the VAT, Sounds pretty straight forward just need to get it ordered now.

      @@akamatchstic I got the kit where the lead times were ridiculous. According to them 80% of their shipments are kits

    • @akamatchstic
      @akamatchstic  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@raul0ca that sounds about right, I remember seeing the lead times were double for kits compared to the pre-builds! Hopefully it’ll drop down soon for new buyers, but we’ll have to wait and see

      @Ewout761 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@akamatchstic No, the normal leadtime is about a month, but that could change if they are very busy.

      @Ewout761 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@raul0ca Yeah I saw that and I thought it was ridiculous too, but me having no experiënce whatsoever in building a printer I thought I'd buy the semi-assembled one, for just some extra Euro's.

    Is it a good printer?

    • @akamatchstic
      @akamatchstic  ปีที่แล้ว

      I’ve been using it exclusively since this video dropped lasted year, and it has held up very well. For 99% of my prints, it has honestly been a case of turn on the printer, hit go, then a couple of hours later I have a great quality print.
      There’s been a couple of prints that barely fit onto the print bed, so print size is clearly a potential issue if you want to print big things. I’ve had a couple of issues with the print head getting clogged which was a simple fix - just heat it up and poke through the supplied needle to clear out any remaining filament.
      After re-doing the Z height calibration, my first layers have all been pretty solid. Currently I do have an issue where sometimes ABS prints will detach from the print bed slightly leading to part deformation, though I’m certain that’s my fault and not due to the printer itself.
      On the whole, it’s worth the cost.
