From MRI to 3D Print: My brain in plastic

- To kick-off 2022, I 3D printed my own brain from MRI data, on the Prusa Mini+!
A couple of years ago, I had the oppurtunity to be a part of a neuroscience study, which involved taking a fMRI scan and structural scan of my brain. Through a series of unrelated events, I ended up with a copy of my scan data, which has been sat on my shelf since then...
With some usage of FreeSurfer and MeshLab, I was able convert my scans into a full 3D model of my brain. It absolutely HAD to be printed!

Your production quality is so much better than your sub count calls for.
Really nice
You have original ideas 😁
There are some free programs that do the same thing, no need to wait hours for this one to install.
Seems like if you want to have the bottom come out smooth you could hack it across the center horizontally. Print it out in two halves and then glue them together. 🤷🏻♂️
In hindsight, yep, definitely!
Nice you could make a sign like in the iron man movies (Proof that ... has a brain)
