I never thought I'd find other people who shared my "condition". That statement is entirely true for me, and it even applies to the things I type. Sometimes, I just keep typing even though I've made my point, and somewhere along the line I completely flub up and invalidate everything I had just typed because "I don't know, I was typing on autopilot", and yet nobody I know believes that you can speak/type on autopilot! It's extremely frustrating...

When you said Neville got his new wand before his 6th year and after he lost his fathers' old one while fighting in the ministry, I noticed this has a deeper meaning: It symbolises him stepping out of his parents' shadows.
Nevilles' story is very much tied to the the story of his parents. He always wanted to do something that would have made his parents proud. He always heard those heroic stories about them fighting Voldemort himself not only once, but three times and sacrificed their own sanity in the end. These stories stand in a great contrast to what Neville thought about himself. He was no hero, but a clumsy who wasn't good at anything except Herbology. But he always wanted to be a hero like his parents were. His fathers wand was probably the most important thing he had got from his parents. It always reminded him of the heroic actions his parents had done.
Then in year 5, just after we readers were introduced to Nevilles' parents' story, there was a mass break out from Askaban. Among the escapees is Bellatrix Lestrange, the woman who had tortured his parents. Neville is eager to fight her and not only to take revenge for heis parents, but showing to everyone (including himself) that he is a hero like his parents were. And so he trains to fight in the DA. Now that Bellatrix is free, he cannot really rest. When he joins the other core members of the DA to fight in the ministry he knows very well that he will be fighting against Bellatrix, but he is prepared. During the fight all DA-members except Harry are being captured. If I remember it correctly, Bellatrix is the one capturing Neville. When the fighting continues, Bellatrix and Neville duel each other. During this fight Bellatrix tortures him with the cruciatus-curse. I think it was also during this fight the old wand broke.
So he became a hero like his parents were and like he always wanted to be. His fathers' old had been a reminder of his parents heroic actions, his new wand is a reminder of his own ones. Now he has proven he is truly his parents son, and will continue their legacy. He stepped out of their shadows and became a hero on his own.
I never thought about that.
I agree, but i also always thought that some of it had to do with the way his grandmother treated him after the fight at the ministry. He even references how proud she is that he was taking after his parents.
Up until that point she raised him and cared for him but didn't seem very supportive(proud). I think that after the fight at the MOM building she showed an approval that may have bolstered his self esteem a bit.
don't get me wrong, I'm not saying she didn't live him or care for him. however it felt like she was holding him to a very high standard and once he met that standard he gained her approval. that approval could have been a good confidence boost to start his path to even more greatness.

See dumbeldore has a beard, his beard is so lucious it is atleast 80% of him. Beards are made of string and so are shoestrings. One could call dumbeldore a shoe (and they did) therefore 80% of him is a shoe string. If i was 80% goofy i would identify in a census as goofy therefore dumbeldore is a shoe string.

I always assumed Charlie inherited it like Ron did, most likely from one of Mrs. Weasley’s deceased brothers. So he used one of them until his parents could afford to get him his own wand, and it was then passed down to Ron

I’ve got a question:
Why did Charlie need a new wand? Why did Ron even get it if it was still working?
Charlie does have a particularly demanding job, maybe he needed something that specializes in neutralizing dragons? Kind of like your basic HB pencil can do pretty good art but once you really come into your own as an artist you usually switch to something else? Just a thought. Maybe when dealing with dragons on the regular you need a special wand. Or maybe it was just that he could suddenly afford a new one and knew his parents couldn't afford a new one for Ron?
I'd think Charlie would have been able to afford a few things with his job but I guess it's like usual...the hard and more physically challenging jobs get paid less....
My answer is: People are changing. There are wands who are not flexible as much for changings in wizards personality as other wands are. If i recall kcorrectly we know this fact for sure. Maybe he had a combination which is less good for this. (also if this is not mentioned anywhere in canon, didnt look up). Also it could simply be that his new personality is not fitting his old wand. In such a strong way that the natural loyalty of the specific wand is a smaller point compared to his unfitting personality.

Maybe it's because Charlie lives and works in Romania and there could be a law that you're only allowed to use Wands from a romanian Wandmaker. or something like this. OR as seen in the Books several times, your wand is like your ID-Card. And when you want to buy a Flat or a House in a foreign Country you need a special permission or a new/second citizenship. Which could also mean Charlie had to get a new "Romanian Wand" as his "new Romanian ID Card".

I think that he's referring to the more common wands, since Fleur had a Veela hair core. I believe that there are only two Phoenix hair cores: Harry and Tom Riddle, and both are from Fawkes

No one really uses thestral hair because they are thought to be bad luck (paraphrasing). That's why the elder wand is so special; not because death made it, but because Antioch used rare yew wood and even more rare thestral tail hair.
davincent98: Actually, Phoenix feather is not a very common core, but it is not only Harry and Voldemort who have it. We actually see Harry try a couple other wands with a phoenix feather core before he finds the right one.

Brandyn Beverly I mean bellatrix actually destroyed his entire life by making his parents insane I would want to avenge them as well. Snape was an overall terrible person and used to be Neville’s biggest fear of anything he should want revenge in snape not want to avenge him. I would think he is avenging Harry more then snape who in my opinion is the worst character in the series

The amount of thought that goes into these theories shows many admirable qualities of love, knowledge, open-mindedness, good information connection, and the selflessness to let us hear them.
I also am on board with short stories about Harry + Neville's parents evading Voldemort as short stories.
@6:28 There are an undefined number of potential wand cores. Olivander simply stated that he prefers to work with dragon heart string, unicorn tail hair, and phoenix feather. Many more core types exist, including Veela hair, but Olivander doesn't work with them. It is premature to assume that any character MUST have one of these three wands cores, as wands made in other countries may use other cores and wands are regularly passed down as family heirlooms for better or for worse.

This is prior to seeing the video, I'm wondering if they're going to compare him to like Samurai tropes, or actual historical samurai, will add an edit at the end.
Edit: finished the video and it kinda did both, tgey did go oast more than just surface level which i really appreciate, but not sure if I'm totally convinced, i mean samurai where more hufflepuff tha griffyndor. Most cause even in the bushido code, loyalty to your master was essential above all, no matter what they told you to do, even if it was something horrific. But i do see some parallels i thoroughly enjoyed the video!
Also slytherin because, if I remember correctly, they were also of noble status and ravenclaw because they were pretty educated.
Wow... the the sixteenth day and samurai and how Harry springs back to action right when he pulls the sword out of the hat... I was so moved. I felt like I was about to cry. Beautiful, beautiful moment.

youtube also doesn't make views visable until a while *after* the view is public on SCB's youtube studio. probably in case they get flagged as fraudulent.
it's most noticable with small youtubers so people like you that only watch big ones, not small guys with good content but lower production value, don't notice it for what it is and make jokes about it.
and what it is, is BS that makes it even harder to get going on youtube these days for small creators, because anything can make views vanish from small creators. i saw a video from a small creator lose all its views, vanish from my subfeed and search results and die dead in the water. but the video was still live and public on his channel.

Neville just has an awesome story. He's relatable because courage doesn't come easy to him the way it does for Harry. He doesn't go looking for trouble, but won't back down if it comes to it. He goes from someone we pity to someone truly awesome. He delivers a momentous FU to the Dark Lord. I can just imagine how many other characters who've known him since the beginning would have been bolstered by that.
