I tried to enjoy LCD Soundsystem, then made this tier list, because that’s fun Music (In Order Of Use): Beneath The Mask (Instrumental) - ATLUS SOUND TEAM Myrtle Leaf - MF DOOM Plumskinzz - MF DOOM
I agree man I just could never get into them one of the only music nerdy bands I just don’t get. I don’t get how they are danceable at all, I love bands they are adjacent too Talking Heads and stuff like Arcade Fire, The Strokes, Franz Ferdinand, Phoenix. I also agree with the taking a cool concept and then dragging it out to the point of tedium.
SERIOUSLY one of the reasons i didn’t like them was cause they were labeled as dance music, when to me, they were boring afffff. not danceable at all. wdym on the last remark though
I fucking love this bands core albums, especially This Is Happening, but i also completely get why someone could hate it. I just like the writing and soundplay, This Is Happening feels like a modern day equivalent to Remain In Light by Talking Heads. In my opinion that is
i got worried when you said W LCD on that one weekly topster 😭 like oh no they ain’t gonna like me after this vid ☠️ that’s cool though, i fw some of the writing across their catalog, songs like i can change and just the overall energy of the track are elevated due to the lyrics imo
SOUND OF SILVER TALK TO ME. MAKES ME WANT TO FEEL LIKE A TEENAGER. YO LONDON SESSIONS DESERVES A RELISTEN. edit: had to throw in a death threat to round it all out. great vid tho
I never understood people’s obsession with this band. While they were putting these albums out I had the same impression you do about them and the band in general. There have always been other bands making way more interesting music in similar lanes.
@@lou8120 I love almost everything the band The Faint has ever done (start with the older stuff) and always thought they deserved as much attention as LCD Soundsystem. They used similar elements but where none of LCDs songs have ever made me dance (with admitted exception of daft punk is playing at my house), the Faint is an absolute blast from start to finish and they do all the artsy stuff too. Phoenix is great and uses similar elements. I’d also mention Tokyo Police Club, Moving Units, The Rapture, Cut Copy, and to a certain extent Death From Above 1979 I’d specifically recommend Dropkick the Punks by the faint th-cam.com/video/5UAfeb0zLWQ/w-d-xo.html. I’d call that their “daft punk is playing at my house” but it’s got way more going on.
As an LCD Soundsystem fan, I am sad. Good vid tho.
