I'm really surprised that The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill didn't make this list. It's not my favorite but it's definitely top 64 albums of all time imo.
Oh yeah, the music critic community is gonna shit their pants over this one. It’s honestly refreshing to see people be honest about the music they like and not pander to certain projects just because they’re classics
They still love most of those critically acclaimed albums though, and also most critically acclaimed albums are acclaimed because they're unique pieces of art that are important to music in some way, no one is saying you have to like them. There are def some music critics like that but most people in that community just like analyzing and discussing music which is a good thing imo
@@isaiahromero9861 I agree. All I’m saying is, a lot of people bend their opinions and maybe put albums that are “culturally more important” at the top of their list to avoid criticism. Peer pressure in this space is real and there’s no denying that

@winter1657 to be fair, as much as I love Eternal Sunshine, impersonally speaking, I can see their point. It has great moments, but the filmmaking for the majority is ultra basic early 2000's video. @@nl3064 here I am replying to this 6 months late but I understand your point. My opinion is that it is a perfect culmination of that early 2000s style, with one of the best original scores of all time, cast and acted wonderfully, with arguably the best written screenplay ever, maybe second to Broadcast News. It’s also visually stunning and was all shot practically, the sets were intricate and genius and the entire movie gives me an indescribable feeling that never fades no matter how often I rewatch it. I also watched it at the perfect time in my life and the overall message from the movie was one I was really needing to hear. Basically a perfect culmination of circumstance and taste has made it my pick for the best movie ever made.

Graydon talking about two of his three favourite songs from Grace being covers didn’t sit right with me when Lover You Should’ve Come Over and Mojo Pin are some of the finest examples of lyricism you’ll ever find in music, and Corpus Christi Carol is one of the finest vocal performances you’ll ever hear. God I love that album
I love Jeff buckaroo best hallelujah version of all time, eternal life and grace are legendary songs. Dream brother and lover you should have come over are masterpieces of evoking emotional music. Too bad he drowned. Homie had so much good music to make
The way riley talked about his vocal style 😭 he is litterally the biggest influence of thom york's bfr
i'm new here and i'm just now watching this video but revolver by the beatles is my favorite album of all time. i feel like it's a perfect album to show people who say they don't like the beatles to break their preconceived notions of who the beatles were as a band.
i 100% agree with this and think being introduced to Revolver first really helps you appreciate the rest of the latter half of their discography as well
I'm really surprised that The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill didn't make this list. It's not my favorite but it's definitely top 64 albums of all time imo.
Kinda overrated ngl. (It’s better than many of the albums on this list tho)
@birds5412actually I almost did but I picked Taylor Swift Folklore because the idea of making them talk about it was funnier to me
@@Supertaldo916then wouldn’t it be properly rated because it’s just a damn good album
@@Austin_3000you should’ve done debut or smth then lmao
Too many men in this fanbase
Cannot wait for them to do a bracket for the entire Rolling Stones top 500 albums
Justice for Wish you Were Here
Nah, ITAOTS getting out in the first round was worst.
@@doglog3934 agreed as well obviously.
Nah madvillainy clears
would unironically love a taylor swift bracket i wanna see graydon become a fearless stan
i want one so bad
YES PLS
I NEED THIS SOOOO BAD
I love how Graydon, to demonstrate what good taste he has in things, says eternal sunshine of a spotless mind is "just an okay movie" lmao
Bueller’s Big Day >>>
he's not wrong
It gets like a 4 on the Bueller scale
One of his best takes ever actually
It has aged horribly
The show is about the boys- not the bracket. I get it now. The brackets are incorrect but the boys are kinda funny. I get it now
Oh yeah, the music critic community is gonna shit their pants over this one. It’s honestly refreshing to see people be honest about the music they like and not pander to certain projects just because they’re classics
most people just like music they like
They still love most of those critically acclaimed albums though, and also most critically acclaimed albums are acclaimed because they're unique pieces of art that are important to music in some way, no one is saying you have to like them.
Peer pressure in this space is real and there’s no denying that
@@jigsaucemusicyou speak facts
@@jigsaucemusic I am just speaking my two cents here but, even they aren't consistent with their reasoning between match-ups. If Riley was true to this ideology since the start, LP! would've beaten Illmatic for example. In the end, it is just about what they wanted to go through and the justification comes afterwards.
This is the most fucking insane bracket ever. I can't even believe this
Wish you were here is the greatest song of all time 30:24
The more I watch their bracket videos and hear their godawful takes, the more I believe they actually made the choices in the thumbnail
Madvilliany winning but Riley defending Aeroplane over the sea was exactly what I wanted to happen
Never mind they both shit on Eternal Sunshine and I am untethered and my rage knows no bounds
@winter1657 to be fair, as much as I love Eternal Sunshine, impersonally speaking, I can see their point. It has great moments, but the filmmaking for the majority is ultra basic early 2000's video. I've seen the movie multiple times, and the last time, I saw how basic and totally standard most of it really is. It's an extremely likeable movie and has highlights (absolutely love the closing shot) but I totally get what their saying.
bro aeroplane vs madvillainy is not a first round match up that is crazy
Also Jon Brion who scored Eternal Sunshine also produced Swimming by Mac Miller along with many other incredible albums from a variety of artists
I only just discovered You guys over the last few months. I havent watched a duo who has both made me felt seen, but also so confused. Like one take will be like, shit that makes people best friends; the next I am thinking You guys have never heard music before 🤣

The beauty of this channel is seeing the community help grest such insane brackets like this and shows the diversity of hivemimd viewers and fans and the inane ridiculous shit they come up with it’s just a place to go when you want to watch some fun music content that doesn’t take itself serious and is a place to just laugh at this group of guys just working on entertaining us all the time. this somehow became my adult Saturday morning cartoons, I just smoke and laugh and it helps start my day and remind me of albums and songs I revisit constantly love y’all and the absolutely unhinged community we’ve built since the early days glad we’ve got this far 🎉🎉🎉🎉 hope I have an album or song they talk about one day, and y’all keep up the grind (p.s. Seeing Jane Remover on here was great. Saw her opening for brakence and she was immaculate
i was supposed to see them live but bro cancelled the morning of on the last show of the tour
i know the Bowie fanbase isn’t huge here, but The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars is my favorite album of all time
Just got it on vinyl a few weeks ago, perfect album. Every song, every second
we need a rock and a psychedelic rock bracket sooo bad
i prefer station to station but yeah ziggy fucks
It's easily in my top 10 and I am actually surprised it didn't pop up on this list. At least Grace did (and got wiped immediately, damn).
i named my fish after david bowie :)
This is a HILARIOUS parody!!!! Can’t wait for the real video!!!!!!
i honestly think Drukqs - Aphex Twin truly deserves a top seed spot in this conversation. What it did for not only electronic music, but he made some of the most impactful piano pieces of the last decade as an interlude, and then mixed with the concept of how drug use (druk qs) affects the brain through sonic pallets is nothing short of genius. It gets overshadowed sometimes by select ambient works but man it really is just incredible
factsss love to see some drukqs love
His best album, it really deserves a critical reappraisal
Easily one of his best. Ziggomatic 17 is his most underrated track.
Riley dont say its corny cause your passionate about it its okay to love things
Nah the Wish You Were Here slander is craazyyy😭
Tbf Animals, Dark Side, and The Wall all clear Wish you were here and likely win that round if they were subbed in
Plastic beach going out first round may be the worst thing that's happened to me since Graydon stole my identity and committed several minor misdemeanours
I don't know if I can keep supporting this channel after that

That was an insane choice
I think they underrated Pink Floyd for sure but I didn't mean to haunt you hits harder at its best spots, its incredible. I would've chose it too

Supprised not to see Bon Iver on this. also I cried when Swimming went out. you guys are monsters

The lack of Pink Floyd love is saddening. I also completely expected it
If i could hear an album for the first time again, I would pick Lift Yr. Skinny Fists Like Antennas to Heaven! by Godspeed You! Black Emperor. Such a surreal experience
9/10 video, would be better if you guys did a full album reaction to all the albums on the first round though.
i hated because the internet the first time or two that i listened to it, i heard so many people talking about how great and expansive it was, so i gave it another try (with help of the dissect podcast season on it), and my life completely changed. i was blown away at the fact that even tho there are some corny parts on that album, that childish gambino is able to make not only an amazing album with great production, but that he also built a whole universe around an album that’s a commentary on not only how we navigate ourselves through the internet, but how we do it through life as human beings. i recommend u guys listen to it again and give it another shot
it's like if hobo johnson was a talented musician. not all that.
this was the same for me. flight of the navigator has always been a masterpiece tho from first listen
This reminds me of my first time listening to The Wall
I was on the fence about who my favourite Hivemind member was, then Riley said IDLSIDGO is his favourite rap album, which is my favourite album. Dignan keeps sending me photos taken from the vents in my walls, so go Dignan!!!
