Another great video Andrew, keep up the good work. It is auction catalogues I collect. Particularly ones listing vintage comics, comic book art and memorabilia. They give a nice insight into the value and rarity of items.
I have loads of old comic auction catalogs, thought I had done a video on those ... possibly haven't. I will have to dig them all out and do a video on the heritage / etc ones. I wish I had kept my Russ Cochran catalogues, they were great. I always hope, when creating the video, to spark some discussion on the books or catalogues or lists etc, perhaps I was the only one picking these little books up ?? I doubt it somehow. I am also certain that there were more interesting lists with covers etc (I would love to pick up a SF Nel list)
@@AndrewBuckleBookReviews I for one would enjoy videos based on old catalogues, I have a few Sotheby's comic book, comic art, science fiction art, books and related memorabilia catalogues. The print quality is great and they showcase pictures and details on some rarely seen items. I can't afford any of the actual auction items but can collect the catalogues!! 😊
I wish it was easier to collect the catalogues as they used to be easy to pick up at comic marts, I haven't seen any for ages and ages. I guess copies can be found on ebay etc but I know the prices can be variable for them. Also, not the sort of thing that turns up in normal comic stores or any Oxfam stores either, I certainly have never seen any. I will put a few catalogues out to remind me to go through them in the next few days and do a video
@@AndrewBuckleBookReviews I look forward to all of your videos, and ones based on your collection of catalogues would be a good watch. You are right, they are very hard to come by these days and the costs do vary. I found a few copies on eBay in the past but they are a very rare find.
Just bought a catalogue on ebay, there are some on there at the moment, for 2023. Only one, I have too many already but I really like those platinum sessions (even though they are often the thinnest), you get the full page and a lot of info. Only got one SF book / magazine auction, something I must look out for
They are more expensive than they used to be, most of the time I paid £5 or so
