    Hey guys,
    Great video! Just wondering if you guys have the link to the torque spec sheet! Looking for the torque spec on the Strut to the Knuckle ?
    Thanks

    Nice job on the video! Were these H&R sport or super sport springs?

    I think it’s a 16mm as everything on this car is metric. 5/8 will fit but could strip. 16mm is spot on. I just did my HR VTF springs on my G80. No lift tho, so my back is shot. Lol

    this dude made this job way harder than it should be for the fronts. dont follow his method for the fronts. you literally unbolt the center shaft nut up top and drop the strut down and the spring falls out. no need to take the whole strut and use a spring compressor etc.

      No idea what you’re referring to, the “spring falls out” 😂 but to each his own. This method was actually very simple

      @@justagarage706 yeah simple if you want to add another hour or 2 to a job that takes less than an hour to replace both front springs.
      you leave the top hat bolts alone, and unbolt the shock shaft nut up top, then lower the whole strut/knuckle down and swing the strut out and away from the fender and replace the spring.
      but to each his own 🤷‍♂️

      @kafax123 if you dont believe me, there are plenty of youtube vids of ppl doing it exactly the way i described it. Dont knock on something you've never heard or even tried and try and call me out on it saying you use to work at a dealership and now have your own shop. I literally replaced both my front springs in less than one hour by myself with floor jacks in my garage.

      @kafax123 theres a certain way of doing it obviously, you dont want to unbolt that nut when all that tension is there. Jack up that whole knuckle/arm assy to unload the tension and then unbolt the center shaft nut.
      i keep trying to post a link to a video to show you, seems like someone keeps deleting my comment. but anyways
      i was simply stating that there was a way easier/faster method than needing a 2nd pair of hands and using a spring compressor etc.
      to each their own. obviously you have to follow common sense when performing any type of lowering.
      i also work at a dealership, im well aware of proper sequence and procedures.

      @kafax123 i completely agree with you, when i was doin mine i can see how someone can carelessly not make sure the spring is completely seated into the top hat because that happened to me but i make sure everythings seated in place properly etc.
      imo i always recommend an alignment everytime a car gets lowered no matter what.

    Great Video guys. Planning on doing this to my G82, is there any rubbing in the front with the 10mm spacers? THANKS!

    • @justagarage706
      @justagarage706  ปีที่แล้ว

      No rubbing issues whatsoever

    • @reginald8703
      @reginald8703 ปีที่แล้ว

      To be conservative with rubbing, I installed 10 mm spacers all around on my g80 base after installing the h&r springs

    • @mperdomo4647
      @mperdomo4647 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@reginald8703 I ended up doing 15f 12r but my shop ended up shaving the fins in the front fender lining to avoid the rubbing issue. Super clean flush look. Love the new stance with the springs and spacers. It's almost a requirement with these new G80/82s.

      @@mperdomo4647just picked up 2024 m3 comp x drive about to put springs an spacers. I see you said you put the larger spacers in front. I was thinking of going 13 front and 15 rear.

      @@theway3058You need the 15s up front. The wheels are smaller so you need a larger spacer. I went 15f and 12r for a flush fitment. My shop had to shave some fins from the front fender lining to avoid rubbing. Super happy with the results. Good Luck!

    Do you have to adjust the headlights height after lowering the car? Thanks in advance!

    I have a G80 and am planing to put the same springs on it. Just worried about the ride quality. How has it been? Did you all the same bolts?

    • @justagarage706
      @justagarage706  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes we re-used all of the factory bolts as non come in the kit. The ride quality has honestly not been altered too much. It is a little more stuff but nothing too crazy.

    You lost me once you used a standard wrench on a 100k car…

      @kafax123 if you don’t know why you should NOT use a standard size wrench on a German/import car then you just need to educate yourself more. I would fire you on the spot if you work for any of my shops just for being that ignorant and stupid.
