Yeah this is great! It’s always hard to determine what personal items to bring when reenacting. I love seeing WWII reenacting content, especially as high quality as this. Keep up the great work! “Keep that smile pearly white!”
Really great presentation - consistent with the British and German versions. Accents and slang seem about just right for the period! Great job with these videos!
I've watched all three WWII soldier's personal kit videos on this channel. The commonalities across the three different kits is not terribly surprising. All three soldiers were facing similar hardships and privation, and had limited carrying capacity on their persons. Even today, a soldier's personal kit would look very similar. I carried a lot of the same stuff in Iraq and Afghanistan. Different wars in different times, of course. But an Infantryman's basic kit has changed very little.
You make great videos. I hope you'll pick that channel back and gib us more reviews like this one and others. Also, thanks for making them. They're great time
1:06 so did American soldiers have a spare first aid kit for after they use the one in their pouch on their belt? Or does he just have his in his haversack.
'And British Money, however that works.' It's really simple, Mate. 240 pence to a pound, also called a sovereign. 20 Bob (shillings) to a pound. A Bob is 12 pence. 24 pence is a 2 Bob Bob bit, 30 pence is half a crown, also called a half dollar. 60 pence, is 5 shillings, also called crown or a dollar. Ten shillings is 120 pence, and is called a half sovereign. Half a shilling (six-pense) is called a tanner, 3 pence is a joey, one pence is a copper, half a penny is a Ha'penny, and 1/4 penny is a farthing. If you are the upstairs type, you use a Gentleman's pound, which is 21 shillings (256 pence).
hold the phone how the hell would a soldier in the 369th go to paris if the 369th was in the pacific ha ha ha just busting chops great video though love it
A camera and film. A wallet with show tickets. A sewing kit he hasn't used, and given the US supply chain a replacement shirt or trousers shouldn't be hard to get. Real handy stuff, huh? What about carrying spare socks? Foot powder? What about a mention of the entrenching tool? A blanket, pancho, or shelter half? The German kit seemed more practical, with mainly a mess kit, shaving kit, spare socks, and spare iron ration.
This kit looks awkward and heavy compared to the British. Even the way it opens up instead of just being a bag looks bad. The shovel is cool though, did every GI have one?
It's interesting to see someone taking the German flag as a souvenir. I didn't think that anyone took flags as souvenirs, except the Japanese Rising Sun.
you forgot the german language guide it helped the american soldiers in ww2 to speak to the germans i reckon all of the soldiers had one i’m not sure but some soldiers had one
Those were more commonly kept in pockets for quick use. Also it seems that this guy is at camp so he’s probably having fresh rations and may have eaten all of his K rations already.
Wonder what happened to these two? It's always the same, you really enjoy and appreciate someones work making great vids, then ,💥 they disappear. Well, I hope they fare well.
Camera: "If I make it to paris-" 😅 Letter: "-my newborn son-" 😮 Flag: "-the sniper opened up on us-" ... Damn, clicked for history, got a great performance to boot.
Excellent & Funny [the latter half of being a soldier at war] Girlfriend's photo? The era hair & clothing a must! The Brooklyn accent, like every other guy in the military, according to Hollywood !
It is meant to be a souvenir taken by said " American G.I." the practice of taking souvenirs was common during ww2, even my grandfather brought a few things home from the Pacific during his time in the US Navy during ww2. NO Samurai swords.
Never understand why folk who do these otherwise excellent videos insist on holding the camera in one hand thus making holding and showing the the items awkward. Get a camera mount - !
This entire US collection is now for sale! www.ebay.com/itm/166513942059
What happened to this series? Why the sudden stop? It's great!
@@MatthewHeraghty could it be they're now having to resort to selling their collections?
@@derrickstorm6976 I was thinking that might be the case, but it was only 3 videos in the series
Why
Is it all sold out?
I love how you do these videos, narrating in character. It's so unique. This should be getting a lot more views.
Yea
It is pretty unique he has good charisma and personality
Needs more recognition
It's very interesting 😂
The tone difference between these videos is truly amazing, you're an amazing actor

Just watched all your videos. Amazing stuff mate. You nail all the accents and idiosyncrasies of the time. Love it
Really great presentation - consistent with the British and German versions. Accents and slang seem about just right for the period! Great job with these videos!
It’s unfortunate that I think their German bread bag video got deleted
Excellent, entertaining and informative presentation! This gives me some great ideas for my own WWII Musette Bag. Thanks!
I like how you keep extra items in your mess kit I'm doing that
man his character is on point! the laugh just ties it all together as some freshly graduated boston kid.
Sounds like half-Boston and half-Brooklyn.

This is so underrated these should be getting way mor3 attention
Please do more videos please. I love them and I think you should do more.
I absolutely love how you stay in character
Thank you for making this
Thanks for watching
I miss the WW2 german equipment video, can you unprivate it
Fr👍
Very on point characterization! I really enjoyed this one, you sound like Packie from GTA lol. Cheers!
On your razor take the bottom of the part that holds the blade and flip it so you can carry a blade in the razor
We used to get Charms in the MREs in the 80s.
In the 1940s, these items were pretty modern comparing to Brtish, German or Soviet ones
1:06 so did American soldiers have a spare first aid kit for after they use the one in their pouch on their belt? Or does he just have his in his haversack.
I believe they only carried the Carlisle bandage in the 1924 or 1942 pouch no extra one in a haversack.
Just found this channel and I'm loving the concept of going through the gear in character. I'm a reenactor too, but my accent needs work.
I'm a collector of WW2 items, are these on sale?
How did u get these items?
I was wondering. Can you make an airborne one for this?
Where do you get that vintage food?
dude these are awesome!
It’s been two years please uploaded again❤
I could talk to this guy about ww2 forever

Many were taken,I've seen some.
Why would soldiers at the front carry civilian id? If there captured thell have a problem
Very cool love seeing this pieces of History
Well done buddy
I think I met you in a pizza place about a month ago. I was wearing a green uniform like a vietnam war one
You got no black crackle?
A possible reason is that soldiers tend to keep lighters in their pockets. (Not to be RUDE.) He probably didn't have one on hand to show.
@@alexfogg381 ah thanks. I did not know that
These videos are great.
Are those itens real? I mean. Look at that conservation for chrissake
What of german ww2 flag?

what? no latrine tickets? always gotta have some toilet paper with you. keep it nice and dry in your mess kit.
After about 10 minutes on Google I've come up with a percentage of Americans that would have that accent. It's way less than 1% .
It's in the Daniel Day Lewis territory at least 😂
No way those Hershey bars make it to France un eaten 😂
i need a max win
Swell.
Wow !
Luckies are gross, Camels where it’s at. No contest.
Any Marine will tell you, get rid of the CHARMS! lol
Ww1 american please
Repo
Lucky strike is best
this is amazing lol
Im not sure what to think of this as a Veteran myself of multiple tours of Iraq. I find reenactors to be distasteful.
I like 👍 id also have a black crackle zippo lighter

yeah ,,Dats louie gianelli from da bronx in new yawk,he was at anzio, a mug among mugs
howould I know? dated his sista angie,,heheheheh
Where condoms?
Hershey's. Yuck, tastes like puke
Total crap and not worth watching, doesn't explain anything.
OMG.... I'm so disturbed and I'll need therapy and a hug after seeing, oh-the-horror, a German flag!
Too much junk. Keep it light. 1 puond now will feel like 10 after a few hours
This is re-enacting not “dress up however you please”.
So good
Nice set up, but not the razor. I suggest a pre-war or US issue Gillette period Tech, on Ebay, even a 60's Tech would look more period authentic.
