      @Moh Zahir USMC مسيحي 7777 Remind me what was written on the German belt buckle since Prussian era, which Hitler didn't even remove when he redesigned it? "Gott mit uns" - Not a very "teutonic pagan" thing to have on every single soldier... Do your research bud

    • @JohnsonTheSecond
      @JohnsonTheSecond 4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      @Moh Zahir USMC مسيحي 7777 you clearly don't. And you just contradicted yourself. Paganism is polytheism, and "Gott" means "God". Which you accept. And it's an undeniable fact that it says Gott mit uns. Which means God. Not Gods... Have you any proof that the Nazis were pagan, like, at all

    Excellent. I'm part of Großdeutschland 1 in the UK, only recently joined after a stint in the LSSAH and we take accuracy very seriously. This is a very good video, maybe you can do a supplementary one on common personal effects carried by German soldiers ie pipes, matches, razors, toothpaste, combs, butter dishes and so on, because that's also really useful to know. Just a thought.

      @@cctproductions6976 I never broke a glass button while reenacting for over 20 years. As long as you’re not diving on concrete or cobblestone, and even then, those glass buttons are pretty resilient. Most reproduction’s uniform’s secondary closure buttons looks like something you can buy at Walmart anyways, I’ll risk breaking a glass or Bakelite button over that any day.

      I wish your family the best.
      When you get into a better situation there are ways to do this a lot cheaper and not sacrifice on quality. Gavin Militaria has very good quality uniforms for the best prices. Join a reenactment gear Facebook group, people are selling stuff on those all the time. You can get pretty much all the equipment you need that way for a fraction of the price of new stuff. And even better it'll already be slightly aged for you.

    Weapons would probably be the most difficult part in Finland. Even deactivated guns have to be registered, and whoever possesses them has to have a license for that individual weapon. One has to be a member of a shooting club or similar for 2 years to get a license. Good luck trying to get an MP40 or similar, since the view of the law is "once full auto, always full auto", even if the gun has been welded to the point of exploding if it was ever fired for real.

    Good to see someone else who replaces reproduction buttons!! I kind of have a button obsession and when I get a reproduction uniform I’ll completely strip it and add all original buttons with original button weight thread. I’ll usually add glass buttons to the cuff closures , dressing pocket etc..... because glass buttons are the coolest things!!!!

    • @obviouspseudonym9345
      @obviouspseudonym9345 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I believe what you're looking for is actually referred to as a "tunic." Service shirts are just what the soldier wears underneath the tunic (think of it like wearing a dress shirt underneath a suit coat). The Sturmabteilung enlisted man's tunic consisted of a yellowish brown tunic that ends at the waist and is meant to be tucked into the trousers. Officers tunics appear to be longer, and similar cut to a typical Wehrmacht and Waffen SS tunic. Note that variations in colour, pocket style, collar tab style, insignia, buttons, and other such details may have occured. The SA was an ever changing organization especially after the Nacht der Langen Messer and the removal of Ernst Röhm Hope this helps.

    I live in Germany and in Germany it's not allowed to wear any German military sine that makes me sad cause I want to get a obergefreiter soilder and I want to wear k98 or a mp40 but that is not allowed that's why I want to reenact and play airsoft with my uniform and mp40 and k98 airsoft gun and with your videos I found out what I should buy and what not and for that I want to thank you

    I understand this was very long time ago, but I want to know, is the uniform you have shown around 6:25 the one you primarily use? And if so, is it a Norwegian SS volunteer uniform cosplay? Or a conscript one?

    Hey, quick question. Have you seen the website Epic Militaria? They're one of the many I've found so far, like the ones you recommended, and I was wondering if you'd recommend them. They have cheap but, from the looks of it, good quality equipment and uniforms, but I'm still skeptical. For example, they have a pair of jackboots for just about $145 US dollars, compared to the $200-$400 range you mentioned in the video. They look good, but I'm wondering. If anyone has any answers on this, let me know.

      @waristheraputic 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi I see nobody responded and having used epic for years now, I think I'm best to help, if you've not already solved the issue. The Epic boots are perhaps the only time I agree with epic critics, as they are pretty tacky, inconsistent and the hob nails fall out allllll the time. If your also in the UK a better choise i've lent to for German Uniforms is Militaria.net. I got my boots there, with white stitching as opposed to black, but a bit of polish solves it right out. Best of luck and hope this can be of some help

    Hello WW2 History and Reenacting, I think this is the 6th time I watch this specific video and I decided to ask you a question. I'm currently undertaking the path of reenactment/ing, portraying the 1st Panzer Division Leibstandarte A.H. and I'm struggling to find a faithful reproduction of a SS buckle. Despite being the one in your video a fake reproduction made to throw off (whose origin might might be known to me), I agree with you that it could be a really nice reproduction for display as far as reenactment is concerned. I was also wondering if you could share the source of that purchase or at least some additional information about it I would be extremely grateful to you. Whatever happens, keep up your work, I won't miss a video, as always!
