    Good session. I like the videos where it shows some of the struggles. Gives a good perspective of what to expect when training and how to overcome those.

    Would you be able to do a 'day in the life' for your puppies? Like how much structure, crate time, training sessions, play time (and what kind of energy draining play) you incorporate while you raise pups on an average day? How this looks at say 8 weeks old with house training versus an older pup? That would be great!

      Jeffrey Oldakowski we like to keep things short. All of our videos are shot in “live” format. So the length of the video is the average length of that session. Keep them 10-15 minutes and you will be happiest!

    I stumbled across your channel looking for GSP specific training a few weeks ago. We currently have 2 GSP's. One is almost 13yrs old and we have a 9 month old pup that I'm just starting to do intensive training with. I've binge watched most of your videos and noticed the you don't ever say "no" or actually "punish" for unwanted behavior like jumping, biting, or whatever. You simply ignore it. Are there circumstances where you would? I'm treating your guides as "gospel" and feel like I need to exactly what you're doing. I joined your Patreon primarily just to say thanks for the great resource!

    I train recall without an ecollar, the key is no repeating command as backgound noise like the first part of this video: th-cam.com/video/rbKUL1FQlts/w-d-xo.html
    Later I teach a silent recall...if I stop, my lab checks in: th-cam.com/video/J0e8-ydO_-I/w-d-xo.html
    I like to hunt uplands as silently as possible...especially on late season wild birds!

    What's up with the timing of "hear"? Seem you call her name and she's supposed to come to you but she does not hear "hear" until she's 75% of the way to you.

    • @StandingStoneKennels
      @StandingStoneKennels  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      She doesn’t speak English or know the cue here yet. Holding the cue until near completing in the beginning make for better early reps. This will change in a few sessions to here and then correction with the collar. Ultimately teaching you need to respond when we ask!

    You mean a shock collar?👀🐶

  • @lindseyl8146
    @lindseyl8146 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    You’re extremely confused. The collar is not negative reinforcement. It’s positive punishment. Not giving treats is negative punishment as well. You’re in fact using two forms of punishment after removing the positive reinforcement. Maybe mention all that to those watching your videos. Also- this puppy is doing a ton of appeasement sniffing and also seems pretty nervous of the man calling her. This is a dog that’s extremely motivated by treats... why’s switch to the collar at all? Makes no sense.

    • @StandingStoneKennels
      @StandingStoneKennels  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Timing changes the collar from negative reinforcement to positive punishment. In this case we are in fact using negative reinforcement. Thanks for the comment though!

    • @lindseyl8146
      @lindseyl8146 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@StandingStoneKennels when you release the vibrate that’s negative reinforcement. But the addition of the vibrate for the dog not being near you is still a aversive and you’re still adding something the dog wishes to “turn off” so the only reason the dog is returning to you to receive the negative reinforcement is to avoid the addition of a feeling it doesn’t enjoy. You still have not explained why do it at all when you have a HIGHLY food/ drive motivated dog without the use of a stimulation the dog wishes to avoid.
      Thanks.
