International management in Football Manager sucked. And yes, football manager is a great game, i still love it very much, but you need to have patience and time for it + you can't control the team by yourself.
The amount of hours i poured into the Fifa 2010 WC Game even years after its release was testiment to how to make an international football game. There was just something about taking the likes of American Samoa or San Marino and achieving the impossible in qualifying for a WC that send our imaginations into overdrive and was something i never got tired of. Lack of variety of national teams kills it because it's not just about the main event but the story of qualifying. Its the same with the European tournaments on EA games and their severe lack of clubs from the rest of Europe. What's the sense of Europa Conference League qualifying rounds when well over half the continent is missing.
I've only ever played FM, so a lack of teams has never been an issue, but I do agree that pressure is criminally absent. I'm pretty much in agreement with everything you've said (an example would be Gareth Bale for Wales, of someone playing better for their national side). I hope they can sort something out with it before FM26, as not having international management in the game during a World Cup year would be a massive missed opportunity, however, it looks like they'll still be ironing out the kinks from FM25.
All I want to do is try to take the Cayman Islands to the World Cup. I don't even know any players so the licensing doesn't even matter, it's just the principle of having the country with a realistic rating there and the challenge of taking them further than they ever could. I thought with EA introducing scouting in almost every country that generic national teams would have been introduced alongside, at least in career mode. It just feels like the 2 go hand in hand, but no, we can scout players from random nations for the pure purpose of having a different name and a cool flag, but you won't ever get to see your scouted superstar carry their country for many years or even play a single game for their country. It just feels like it has to be done.
There should be two changes. One, as you mentioned, is just getting in more teams. How can we not have Brazil in the game?? Another issue is… letting us see the stats of individual players! How hard could it be? We should know where all the players play football and how many goals they’re scoring. I don’t need overall ratings to pick the squad, it’s the performance that matters. Always found it stupid when your GK is the golden glove winner for 2-3 consecutive years but doesn’t get picked just because the national team has three 85-90 OVR keepers (who keep their ratings well into their thirties)
That’s not the issue. The thing is, there are not enough national teams. If they’d just included more and stopped cutting them, it’d be 100 times better even if they were unlicensed

It would be nice for FIFA (or whatever they go by now) or even a new game to have every international team on. How hard can licensing be? Lots of us fans of the international game would be all over that, and competitions such as the Copa America and various Nations Leagues would be great
It’s crazy FM have removed international management based on 5% of users playing it. Only 5% are using it because it’s neglected and an empty experience. It’s honestly gaslighting from FM.
i would also love it If EA would change the cup Lift Cinematic its so boring like imagine winning a world cup or champion league and you get a actual Cool Cinematic that also includes the manager
One thing i also hate about career mod is the fact the media isnt emersive. If i remember correctly in Pes 10 or 09 playing master league after playing a big match and losing the show on the news how outrange the fans our. And this wasnt some pictures. It was a whole animation of fans on the street protesting. Omg. And now on fifa all you get is a slip show. The last fifa i placed was Fifa 23 so i dont know if they changed it
6:07 that would be really annoying, i understand the spain example but imagen you take over a small team which wants you to play defensivly and then you improved the national team and have world class players and they still force you to play defensivly. And you said before that you would want to manage a national team alone without managing a club but that would mean that you can influence how good your players are. You can't scout in those countries.
Personally, i have not played Fifa 21 onwards. I instead play Fifa 15 and 16, sometimes 18 and 19. I actually like managing national teams in those games.
I think Every football games has access to internet and countries names. 1. Just make a game with all country names. (Countey names doesn't need license) 2. Search every country generic names and generate artificially for every player. 3. Make nations weak and powerful as the information you got from fifa. 4. Change competition names to something different ( Asia Champion, Africa Winner, Europe Winner, North America Champion, South America Champion, Ociana Champion, World Winner.) All qualifier
5. Do the same for all leagues in the world. They just don't want to do that. True Football 3 and Truefootball National Manager - These games are peak.
Just need another World Cup game. I don't see EA taking the time to put in basically a whole extra sub game inside career mode. Or even just making a separate career mode for international management. And ofc that World Cup game needs ALL the teams. Or at least most of them. And ALL the major international tournaments should be added plus World Cup qualifying.
I wouldn’t care if they had unlicensed national teams so long as they actually had all the countries and tournaments. FC 25 is so bare when it comes to national teams and tournaments. I shut off the option for international offers on my latest career mode because like what’s the point?
i wish they removed the overall rating and just make it stats and being able to see the player youre scouting play a match on thier team or sum like that, its so boring if it just straight up tells u "yeah so this guy is the best one and then the rest just kinda suck"

Man i miss Pes 12/13 that had all the cups & national team in it from African cup of nations to all the other cups. Its crazy how konami ruin the Pes Franchise
Many of the issues you speak about and claim to exist in Football Manager do not exist. In theory, every national team is managable. Want to lead Papua New-Guinea, Iraq, Somalia, or San Marino to a world cup win? Sure, no problem (especially if you download their domestic league from the workshop). Not only are all international tournaments available, including every continental championship, and various minor international competitions like the Nations League or the regional Asian competitions, but even youth international tournaments like the Olympics or U20 World Cup. You talked about the issues with squad selection - well in FM, you have to scout extensively to find new players to add to your national pool, and dont even have those 1-99 rating, bringing quite more realism and excitement, and will have times/seasons where they perform better or worse (with you being able to not only see appearences, goals and assists, but also more detailed info like kms run per match, xG, Pass Accuracy etc., with aspects like match sharpness (i.e., if they play regularly on the club level) also playing a role. In Football Manager, some countries do have their own "Footballing cultures", as you call them - specific styles or formations that AI managers will prefer to use. Certain players will also perform better on the international stage, with a hidden attribute for "Important Matches" existing. While I am unsure what exactly you mean by implementing pressure, press conferences do exist in FM, and while they are famously repetetive, your answers can impact performances. So whilst FMs international management can certainly be improved, comparing it to what FIFA calls international management is ridiculous and shows your lack of knowledge on the game.
In fact, pressure while managing national teams is a thing on FM. Almost every manager is fired after major tournaments. I was managing Argentina and I was unbeaten for 19 matches, but I was sacked after losing 1-0 on extra time against Spain on the WC. 20 games, only lost 1, and still got sacked International management in FM lacks many things, but pressure it's not one of them

It would be nice for FIFA (or whatever they go by now) or even a new game to have every international team on. How hard can licensing be? Lots of us fans of the international game would be all over that, and competitions such as the Copa America and various Nations Leagues would be great
I really miss Fifa 98 for that...🥺
It’s crazy FM have removed international management based on 5% of users playing it. Only 5% are using it because it’s neglected and an empty experience. It’s honestly gaslighting from FM.
i would also love it If EA would change the cup Lift Cinematic its so boring like imagine winning a world cup or champion league and you get a actual Cool Cinematic that also includes the manager
5:43 bottom right. Why is the fourth official invading the pitch exactly?
We need way more licenses. All continental cups and a fully licensed World Cup.
Absolutely love international management on any game tbh, watching it go so backwards is sad
Personally, i have not played Fifa 21 onwards. I instead play Fifa 15 and 16, sometimes 18 and 19. I actually like managing national teams in those games.
I think Every football games has access to internet and countries names.
1. Just make a game with all country names. (Countey names doesn't need license)
I'll be honest, i always disable international management. Ive never tried it on fifa or football manager, just never ever interested me
I sign national team contracts just to see if they have wonderkids
I wouldn’t care if they had unlicensed national teams so long as they actually had all the countries and tournaments. FC 25 is so bare when it comes to national teams and tournaments. I shut off the option for international offers on my latest career mode because like what’s the point?
PES in my opinion, had good national teams, but they didnt have licensed teams stadiums and competitions, but still F.E. PES had 81 national teams
i wish they removed the overall rating and just make it stats and being able to see the player youre scouting play a match on thier team or sum like that, its so boring if it just straight up tells u "yeah so this guy is the best one and then the rest just kinda suck"
Hey man, I was wondering which sliders you are using in your career modes. Are you using the simulation sliders or custom ones?
I swear there was a bug on ea fc 24 I got to euros final with Scotland lost on pens to Germany then expected to do world cup qualifiers didn't do it team wasant in it and they did random teams in world cup very frustrating I wanted to play in world cup with Scotland
great video but the crowd noise is actually annoying and disturbing
do you get less club offers when you leave international offers on? just played thru one season and didnt receive an offer from another club but i got like 4 international offers
They should also add dual nationality
No more india in international career mode?😮
Do you see Qatar being removed next FC 26?😅
Thats how it is in real world you play a few 12 international friendlies a year play a region tournament a year and play a world cup every 4 years its boring but is most stress
we need back Euro and World Cup dedicated games
I just play a french team and i reconstruct the international team with french youth stars lol...
6 teams from asia, africa, north america, and south america combined. thats shocking.
Man i miss Pes 12/13 that had all the cups & national team in it from African cup of nations to all the other cups.
Its crazy how konami ruin the Pes Franchise
0:33 ill be real. I dont play FM but idky i never thought about the fact that it has international career mode 💀 never heard anyone talk about it.
Football Manager just removed altogether and well be reforming it, that's the only hope we have
First step is definitely to have like 100 teams
If they have only a few they can at least make retro world cup
Like when there were only 16 or 24 teams
More tan likely, they’ll also remove all African teams as well
Many of the issues you speak about and claim to exist in Football Manager do not exist.
20 games, only lost 1, and still got sacked
International management in FM lacks many things, but pressure it's not one of them
They are mainly talking about EAFC. They mentioned FM only because in 25 they're removing international management
FIFA could have about 100 national teams without even having to add any players.
They just need to add as many national teams as they can dosent matter about the big teams I rather have 20 new countries then Brazil back
mods fixes a lot of these issues
Pes 2021 has a pretty good international management mode imo
Dybala at left cb is crazy😂
because.... whats there to do outside the 5-6 times you meet your NT?
Ypu sitting in scout meetings and watch games of clubs with players of interest.
Not just in the International games, the Premier League as well, good friends!!!
4:40 it's actually 2017, 2019, 2022 and 2024
How do you get any national team you want like last years?
How did you get Nigeria in FIFA? I saw your clips of them playing against italy towards the end of your video
I think it’s modded
@addi_addi what's the name of the mod. How can I get it?
@ rwtc or nacp mods
I’m not sure, it’s for fifa 23 though
We have an unlicensed World Cup, why we don’t get all national teams unlicensed ?! It would be ok for me, I only want to have the chance to use them and want to play good competitions!
EA should be embarassed by what they've done to their game.
2002 WC Game was dope
Well you don’t play qualifiers, you don’t do nations league, so if aren’t doing as such what’s the point
To be honest i liked the National team system in fm . It was much much better than in ffia you could actually start players the media would yell at you for not calling up a player or calling up a player that dosent play or is not good enough in their opinion. Of course it wasnt perfect but i thought it was really really good such a shame that they are removimg it
So FC25 has even fewer national teams than FC24?
I mean PES used to have a class career mode
Because is it?
Fifa 23 still showing why it’s the GOAT kinda….
Is it possible to change traning settings in career mode?
Try football manager you’ll enjoy it more
