Dimash has made it his own with his interpretation and it became a sad anthem for him that he dedicated to his best friend, Denis Ten, a famous Kazakh ice skater, who was murdered shortly before guesting on one of Dimash's concerts. So it means a lot to him in that way and also because it was this song that sent him viral after he sang it on a Chinese singing competition in 2017. It's been a weird few years for me...musically. First I fell in love with Billy Strings...a bluegrass/country guy...not really my cup of tea...but I became obsessed. Next, I found Ren, Hi Ren...and I was SO MOVED! I probably cried 30 times watching Hi Ren ...then, before I was done being obsessed with Ren...BAM! Dimash got me! The "ooo oo oo ooo" at the beginning of Hi Ren was almost like foreshadowing of Dimash. Now, Billy Strings, Ren, and Dimash are weirdly linked in my mind. SOS is not originally Dimash’s song, but he has made it his own. The song pre-dates Dimash’s birth and is originally French Canadian. Dimash is from Kazakhstan and he does compose beautifully as well, but chooses to perform mostly meaningful music (side note: not sure how meaningful Be With Me or Power Rangers theme song are, but they are fun performances from Dimash!). His range extends from the top of the bass register to the highest notes of the coloratura soprano and whistle register. His first digital music album "ID" went platinum in only 37 seconds after release, and 3x platinum in only one hour, and 5x platinum in only one day on Chinese music platforms In December 2019, he made his US debut in New York at the Barclays Center. Dears (those he calls his fans) traveled from 68 different countries, 43 states & 2 US territories, and was sold out. Now writing his Doctoral thesis for a PhD in Musicology/ Composing, received all his degrees with honors while simultaneously filling arenas and maintaining his performing career, a first! He has a bachelors degree in vocals, a master's degree in composition and is about to complete his PhD in musicology this year.

This is a cover of a French song from the French Opera "Starmania. Talk about holding a note and vibrato, you need to watch "Sinful Passion." or "Stranger", Your Love", or better still, Olympico. I love your quests' reactions and comments. He is young but knowledgeable about music.....and he is a cutie. I still like to watch the expressions on your face. Even though you have heard this song many times, you still seem to be amazed. Thanks again, and I hope you have this guest back again for more of Dimash. A little FYI, Dimash began piano lessons at the age of 3 and started music school at the age of 5. He now has several degrees with a Ph.D. in music composition, and still does vocal training for 3-5 hours a day every day. He made a statement during an interview that since he was 2 or 3, he has never wanted to do anything else but sing.

The song is from a 1970's rock opera called Starmania. Dimash has made it his own with his interpretation and it became a sad anthem for him that he dedicated to his best friend, Denis Ten, a famous Kazakh ice skater, who was murdered shortly before guesting on one of Dimash's concerts. So it means a lot to him in that way and also because it was this song that sent him viral after he sang it on a Chinese singing competition in 2017. Dimash has a 7.2 vocal range and sings all genres from Opera to pop, rock, folk, classsical, jazz and he also raps in some of his songs. He is also a multi-instrumentalist and composer. And yes, he is considered the best vocalist in the world right now and his worldwide fan base agree with that!

Dimash is awesome he can reach a D8 witch is out of a regular piano the last note plus one so from B2 on lows to D8 of the piano. Opera singners are floord by his range. Go watch the Diva Dance live in Bastaw (the alien song in the 5th element movie with Bruce Willis) cause Dimash sings it and it was suppose to be unsingable for a human being !

It's been a weird few years for me...musically.
First I fell in love with Billy Strings...a bluegrass/country guy...not really my cup of tea...but I became obsessed.
Next, I found Ren, Hi Ren...and I was SO MOVED!
I probably cried 30 times watching Hi Ren ...then, before I was done being obsessed with Ren...BAM! Dimash got me!
The "ooo oo oo ooo" at the beginning of Hi Ren was almost like foreshadowing of Dimash.
Now, Billy Strings, Ren, and Dimash are weirdly linked in my mind.
