Hello, thanks for your reaction my friend. But please, don't compare Dimash to Marcelo. With all due respect to you and to Marcelo, Dimash is in a completely different league. The more you’ll listen to Dimash, the more you'll realize that he's one of those singers who only come once in a lifetime. He is actually the best voices on earth, no one will come even close to him.
One shouldn't compare any singer to another. It's not a competition. Some people like Marcelito, some like Dimash.

Dimash performs here in the fifth season of Hunan Television's "I Am A Singer" competition. The song by Russian singer Vitas was already popular in China, so the show's production team asked Dimash to perform "Opera 2" for the second stage of the competition. However, they forgot to obtain permission from Vitas in a timely manner, and he and his team of lawyers would not grant permission to Dimash to perform the song publicly. Fortunately for us, and to the chagrin of Vitas, the Chinese had already streamed the performance online.
Dimash decided to surprise the audience with a lively version of three additional key changes on top of the one done in the original. Unbeknownst to Dimash, his father had come from Kazakhstan to watch him perform this song and surprised him at the end of the performance. Dimash was so happy and excited to see his dad. I watched some behind-the-scenes footage from after the performance. Dimash actually asked his dad if he thought that his performance had been ok. Lol. He is so humble.

"I Am A Singer" is an annual Chinese music competition between famous and established professional singers. The audience phones in to determine the winner after each episode It is the same throughout the entire show; 500 with musical backgrounds judge the performance by points each week.
At 22 years old, Dimash was the youngest participant in the show's history and competed against professional and top-selling Chinese singers as a 'wildcard' competitor. The competition consists of 14 rounds, lasts almost 4 months, and competitors are eliminated throughout the season. Every performance is live, and no lip-syncing or auto-tune is permitted. Pure unadulterated vocal ability only. Dimash's mother later said that he hoped to reach at least the middle stage of the competition.
Here is the order of Dimash's performances for The Singer 2017. The contest lasts 14 weeks, but Dimash has only 13 performances because he had already made it into the semi-finals by week 11.

The last performance was part of the 2017 Biennial Concert and not the competition. It was broadcast live and is an original song written for Dimash.
Dimash won the first episode for his performance of S.O.S., the second episode, and the 6th, for his rendition of "Adagio," a song made famous by Lara Fabian. First place overall went to the famous Chinese 51 y/o singer Sandy. Sandy's first album came out before Dimash was even born. Dimash took second place overall; however, he lost by a narrow margin. He did not earn a lot of points for his performance of "Uptown Funk." Although Dimash did not win the show, he immediately became a fan-favorite in China and now has a loyal following.

I'm sure that Dimash is still in possession of all the body parts he was born with! :) This is incredible but it is a bit of a 'party piece'. Dimash has so much more than just those top notes. Try 'Stranger' or 'SOS' 2021, or his epic 'The Story of One Sky'!
This is how this song goes. It is just a cover on a contest that he was asked to perform. Dimash has in his repertoire completely different and much more complex songs. But he shouldn't be compared to Marcelito. Marcelito has 2 voices and he alternates between them, and he usually imitates voices of other artists, Dimash is an original artist who sings in million different voices, genres and styles. He doesn't try to imitate anybody, he creates his own arrangements and interpretations and also sings and composes his own original amazing songs. Try SOS 2021 on his channel.
Dimash is much more than this song. He has a technique and range in singing that is art. And he has a good energy. But in this world almost nobody can check this. He has a high level in music education.

Pegasus, everyone has said "welcome to the world of Dimash" and it's true. Once you've discovered him, there is no recovering and you have to go on the journey that is Dimash. Since that appearance in 2017, the Singer, China, he has matured, developed, grown musically and as a man. If you can, see Omir, one of his most recent and hauntingly beautiful songs. It encompasses all his growth in the last 6 years. In the end, there is no comparison with anyone else, no matter how good he may be.
Dimash did a song for the soundtrack of an Italian movie " Creators--Past". the director/ producer/ musician, Pierguiseppi Zaia, needed someone to sing one particular song he had composed but could not. Another producer had heard about Dimash and listened to some of his music and suggested him to Zaia. However, they had to use three different people to do the song to send it to Dimash and the three of them still could not do what Dimash did with the song alone. It was during the Covid lockdown, so they had to send him a tape to hear. The song is "Across Endless Dimensions. Check it out. Dimash is from Kazakhstan, singing in Russian on a Chinese singing competition show. At that time he was only 22 yrs. old, the youngest, and the first foreigner to appear in the history of the show. Dimash began his music studies at the age of five and now has a Ph.D. in music competition. He still trains vocally for 3-5 hrs. a day every day.
I'm glad you discovered Dimash. He is extremely talented. And while he is completely different from Ren, they both have in common that they are both very unique in their own style, have a once in a lifetime talent, and appear to be very decent and humble human beings at the same time.

It's a Russian song. The song is about a strong wind storm that slammed his door shut behind him and is rattling his windows. The chorus is the howling wind. You should watch another dozen Dimash performances to see just how varied his talents are.

Dimash is originally from Kazakhstan which is a Eurasia country (some other examples are Ukraine, Armenia, Uzbekistan etc). In a lot of his songs he includes traditional instruments. He is also only 29 years old. I recommend watching him sing stranger to truly see his range. If you think this was impressive, wait till you see stranger 😅
Oh also! His range is 6 octaves plus one note. He started piano and vocal lessons when he was 5 but now plays 7 instruments and studied contemporary and classical music in college and now adds Kazakh additions to the songs. It is reported he has never used autotune he also speaks roughly 4 languages and has songs in multiple languages. Also has won many awards. But I am happy to see you discovered him! He and Ren are the two artists who have impressed me the most!

This was the second song he performed on that competition. You should listen to the first one SOS from the same competition. There are a lot of versions but that one was more RAW without effects on his voice and he was the first cοmpetitor on the first episode and he was completely unknown so it is a unique experience! Also Marcelito who.. you havent seen anything yet from Dimash.. there is no comparison.. not even close.

Dimash: great great singer! This is a weird one to begin with because it shows off how high his voice can go, but not other features. SOS would have been better. But want to add, Dimash seems like a great, genuine guy. We love Ren for how real & kind he is. Dimash it very similar.

@@heartwork8318er I think you’re mixing it up with SOS 😂 This is Opera 2, a Russian song. You can see it because the subtitles are in cyrillic alphabet which is the Russian alphabet (: French is a romance language, it uses the latin alphabet just like English.

If you continue the Dimash train, it just keeps getting more wild and more wild. He's phenomenal and beyond insane good. He ranges are ridiculous too. Super lows, super highs. Every song of his is such a fun ride and experience.
Dimash is a tenor (he can fry down to the first octave and sing in baritone register, unlike a "castrato" or countertenor who would be stuck in the highs, and by the way the original singer of this song is a countertenor), but he has a natural malformation in the vocal chords that allows him to have an abnormally powerful head voice. He’s been classically trained since the age of 5 and just worked his ass off on a university level in music studies to achieve that level of vocal mastery. He’s been offered a position in an opera but declined because he wants to do the music he likes. He’s a huge Michael Jackson fan and he also raps !! I personally like it the most when he sings folk songs from his country, Kazakhstan. Extremely versatile artist, speaks 3 languages almost fluently but has sung in more than 15. On top of that he has an incredible personality that deserves to be discovered too !

Marcelinho and Dimash are both great, but very different. If you want to compare the Marcelito performance to one of Dimashes, „Olympico“ is something similar from Dimash. But he is actually extremely versatile. Most people listen to „S.O.S.“ first. But of course there are so many more incredible performances. If you want to have it all in one single song, then listen to „Stranger“. (but I could name a lot more… 😅)
I have been waiting so long to see your reaction to this dude. Absolute world class talent. "SOS" and "Be With Me" are great next songs to check out if you're interested in seeing more of his versatility. For SOS I don't think it gets better than the Slavic Bazaar Live version of the song. It's as close to a perfect live performance as I have ever heard.

Dimash has perfect pitch, a 7+ octave range, sings in 15 languages, and has incredible stage presence. The more you watch Dimash, the more you will see just what he is capable of doing. I would suggest SOS next.

Dimash is a 29-years old singer from Kazakhstan and believe me, you’ve seen nothing at all. In my opinion you have discovered the best singer in the world. He has perfect pitch and currently has a vocal range of 7,7 octaves (vocal fry C1 (B0) - whistle D8 off the piano). That means he hits notes in almost 8 octaves and sings consistently in 6 octaves. Not in one song (mostly😅). At least what he has shown us so far. And this in all the different registers . His voice is the result not only of his God-given talent, but also of his almost 25 years of daily hard training. From the age of 5 he attended music school in his hometown of Aktobe. He plays several instruments like piano, dombra (a kazach instrument), drums, marimba and more. He has classical as well as contemporary vocal training and sings in different genres from opera to pop, jazz, Kazakh folk, ballads and he even raps a bit. And often he skillfully mixes several genres in one song. Mainly classic and pop, so he created a new crossover genre. And meanwhile in more than 10 languages. The latest songs (from Tokyo Jazz Festival in November 2021) are Ikanaide in Japanese and at his concert in Almaty on September 23, 2022 he sang a new song in Spanish (about 7 languages in one concert!). And at his concert in Yerevan on April 29, 2023, he sang an Armenian folk song for the first time (it has to be about 15 languages so far).
He sings no mainstream and is a completely independent artist. He is managed by his father Kanat, who founded his own company "DimashAli Creative Center". The logo can be seen at the beginning of many of Dimash's videos. Maybe that’s the reason you never heard of him yet. He doesn’t sell his soul to a music label. Many of my favorite songs are in his native tongue. He is a nice, intelligent, respectful and humble person. Sometimes he also can be a little bit goofy, and I love it❤️. He respects people regardless of their original, religion or profession. He truly loves his homeland Kazakhstan and his people with all his heart and always shows it with pride in many of his songs, concerts and interviews. During his concerts in Dubai, Düsseldorf and Prague in 2022, before he performed his song War And Peace, he told the audience he loves all people in every country. And there are no bad nations (only bad leaders). And I absolutely believe this.
His concert in September 23, 2022 was in his hometown Almaty, it was so amazing and it lasts almost 4 hours. Believe it or not but he really gets better and better. Every time you think you know him and his art, you realize you are so wrong.
He's very spiritual and thankful for the gift God has given him. But he also works very hard to constantly improve his vocal skills.
He said in an interview that he trains at least 3 hours every day, if necessary, it can be 10 hours to prepare for a concert. He loves swimming and also a lot under water. Maybe that's why he has this large lung capacity to hold the notes as long as he does. He's a singer you can't put in any box. He sings almost every genre there is. Every time you watch a video, expect the unexpected. Even the covers he sings he makes his own and brings elements into the song that you would never expect. Don't be surprised if you get suggestions for songs you may have already seen. Dimash has different versions of many of the same songs. They are all worth seeing. Opera2 was the second performance of The Singer competition in 2017 in China. The song is in Russian. A language he also speaks fluently. The original was from the famous Russian singer named Vitas.
The song is very famous and popular in China. The audience already knew what to expect, but were very surprised when Dimash raised the pitch three times. Vitas but only once.
The Singer is a show in China where only established singers are invited to perform. All the singers invited to this show are already well-known artists in China who have already won awards. Dimash was invited as the first foreigner as a wild card and the youngest in the history of this show. They became aware of him because he had already won some important competitions in Kazakhstan and Belarus, among others. He was still completely unknown in China. Actually, it was intended that he would only have 1 or 2 appearances. But it came completely different. When he woke up the next morning after his first performance of SOS he was a megastar in China and even found bodyguards outside his hotel room. SOS’ first video had 600 million views when it aired. He was just 22 years old at the time.
The man who raises his fist in the air at the end is Dimash’s father. He came from Kazakhstan to support his son. However, Dimash knew nothing about it when he performed.
I think it was very difficult for him at the beginning. You have to imagine, until this competition in China in 2017 he never was alone. Dimash, like many other Kazakhs, has the tradition of living under one roof with the whole family all together. He lives with his grandparents, parents, a sister, a brother an other relatives in the same house. And now he had to go to China alone, didn‘t know the country, didn‘t know the language, didn‘t know the traditions or livestyle in this country and up to that point he spoke (almost) no English, except maybe „Thank you“ and „My name is Dimash“. Only one interpreter came along and that at the age of 22. He was almost a kid to me then (my son is 20 so I can imagine…). And after that performance he saw his dad. So beautiful and emotional.
BTW the audience is also the jury.
During the Opera 2 performance, he flirted with the audience in a way that wasn’t really his habit at the time (fortunately that has changed in the meantime). And afterwards he said that he was really uncomfortable that his father saw him like that🤭. Luckily he didn’t find out until afterwards because I love it when he’s like that on stage🥰.
If you want to see another awesome song than I recommend Stranger. In this song it seems you hear at least 4 or 5 different vocalists. He’s absolutely awesome.

Here you can hear a large part of fhis vocal range, as well as an incredibly awesome Kazakh instrument. The Kobys. The man who often plays the kobys in Dimash’s performances is the best on this instrument and a good friend of Dimash. His name is Olzhas Qurmanbek. Stranger is one of my absolute favorite songs. I get goosebumps every time I hear it.

He constantly awakens things in us that have been hidden for a long time or that we have newly discovered for ourselves. I did a little drawing a long, long time ago and started again now (guess what or who😊). I've also started to learn the piano. So far only with moderate success 😅. I try to only write things that I have seen or read in interviews myself. There are often comments that I think are very exaggerated, so I'm careful and try to do my own research. But I've also made one or the other mistake, so I'm glad if someone enlightens me and then also tells me the source. And yes, he really can flirt on stage😍!
I’ve seen all the metal greats live. Bruce, Halford, Geoff Tate, Dio, Hansi, King Diamond, even Midnight. Also just saw Devin, and nice reaction there too! But, I saw Dimash live right before the pandemic and he topped them all. It was insane levels of talent and discipline!

Dimash can go way higher than this, but often underrated is his lower register. In El Amor En Ti, his voice sounds a bit more rounded. For utimate story telling, go for Story Of One Sky (Although I suggest doing that much later in your Dimash journey). Dimash is amazing because he can sing like this for 3 hour long concerts. Some of his songs are gems because of his range, some because of his 26 second long belts, most beause of his mastery of so many different techniques but all of them are amazing because of his storytelling. That is a gift you can't just learn from a book. Especially not when singing in 13? 14? 15? (I lost count) different languages. He is heavily involved in the writing of his music and production of his videos. And most importantly, incredibly kind, doing a lot of good for multiple causes.
Dude, check out Dimash' "SOS -Slavic Bazaar" and "Stranger." In the words of Bachman Turner Overdrive, "you ain't seen nothing yet." FYI - This song is in Russian not Italian. Marcelito Pumoy, while incredible, couldn't hold Dimash's beer.

As impressive as this performance is, it might be the least impressive out of all the videos I've seen from Dimash. That's how crazy talented he is. That's not to say it wasn't executed perfectly, because I don't think Dimash ever misses the mark. It's just that some of the other songs give him a chance to showcase a much larger range on both the upper and lower end of the spectrum in addition to more variety of tones/styles.
He can sing like baritone, soprano y whistle. He is singing in Russian but he can sing in lots of languages. And all kind of music. His range goes from B2 to D8. He can sing higher than in this video. You need to watch more from Dimash. He will surprise you with each song. Try to react to STRANGER, S. O. S., Sinful passion, etc. In this video he was 22 and now is 29 and is better

All great information. I just wanted to add that Dears come from pretty much all over the world. He actually has a lot of fans in the US and Asia in addition to Russia and South America. He has about 10 million fans in China alone, but they are not on the usual platforms we're familiar with (mostly Weibo). They don't have TH-cam or Instagram in China (and probably other countries as well) so it's hard to tell exactly how many fans he has around the world. But the number is growing every day. I can say that he sells out every solo concert wherever he is performing (including New York, London, Germany, China, Russia, Malaysia, Turkey, Armenia, and Qazaqstan, of course). People come from 60+ countries to see him. He is a peace ambassador and wants to bring the world together through music.

Yup. "What the f*ck just happened?" Pretty much every Dimash song. "Stranger (new wave)" is in English if you want to check out what he sounds like in English. So fun to watch and listen to aliens from other planets singing for us. Also "SOS" where he starts REALLY low and climbs all the way up octave after octave. This is actually less impressive than the other two I just mentioned.
