I bought one and now have to learn how to use it so any videos performing tests would be helpful.

You can connect with HDMI. Can make a video doing this.

Did you see the new Enhanced UI for the DHO800/900? It allows you to put the channels in full screen mode.

The serial decode. Can it decode for example a radio burst from a wireless outdoor thermometer?

DHO 804 can decode different bus types: Serial and Parallel. In serial mode supports RS232, I2C and SPI. If you system use this type of buses thats OK can decode it. Wireless outdoor thermometer not wired, maybe you cannot decode it. For example if thermometer sensor connected with I2C wired bus, then you can decode dialog. For your situation maybe not.

Thanks for posting your thoughts on the scope, looks like it is loaded with features so I can understand the need for a touch screen since it would take a lot of knobs and buttons to access all of them. I particularly like the compact size which allows it to be used on a normal size workbench. I have an old one that is so big I have it on a stand I can pull up beside my bench since if I put it on the bench, I wouldn't have any room for anything else. Cheers!

I think about touch screen and UI buttons like close window button is little than finger and some times when I try close window UI not response very well. But in general is very versatile scope for this price. In general not bad oscilloscope quality/price relation not bad, usability not bad. Maybe need improve some UI elements for better usability with touch screen. Also is my first RIGOL oscilloscope with touch screen and some functions accessed from Rigol start button or menu button instead direct access buttons like SIGLENT or Tek scopes than have screen lateral direct buttons to access measurement functions or other menu functions. Thanks for your comment! Cheers!

The problem with the small close cross ❌ can be solved by using a touch pen
