We've collected cards over many many years. Mostly displays and precons later on to get some Commander staples. Unfortunately, nobody in our bubble played Magic for quite a long time. Luckily, that changed now! It doesn't matter how many cards you've got but if you already have just one display of a set, it's such a pleasure to have it all sorted and putting decks together is just plain sailing. How did you organize your cards and why does it work for you? Let us know!
My collection is (when I don't coll3ct the whol3 set) in binders by Colour first, tyen Creatur3, Enchantm3nts, asorce4y and Instant ant those again sub catagorised by l3gendary, Reserved list, Full Art, Foil .... This I only do for the rares and GOOD uncommons. The rest go (colour ... bla bla) into longboxes PER SET ! That works for me , but the zipper binders (though tyere is allways a fault in any syst3m) do have the disadvantage that you cannpt add in pages later... Have a great weekend. 🤗
Thanks for sharing your method! In the end you just have to be able to find the right cards and know where you put them. We just happened to find this system to work for us, great you found yours! Longboxes is essentially the same we do with drawers, but it's definitely more wallet-friendly. 😅 We now started to sell some cards of sets er just have to much of - so bulk actually. It'll give us some space to play around with eventually. Have a great weekend too! 💛
@DragonandQuill I am curious ... from wich set "onward" are you collecting? I am in and out since 94 revised and last set I collected in full was bloomburrow, need only the 4 of 12 Guilded ones for the Master Set, 🤨 PRICEY .......am also working on Full Foil + Non Foil Unfinity, 8th. Edition, Mercadian Masques, wich is quite far. From the 3 part Urza Block I "Only" need the Gaea's Cradle Foil Promo 😒 from completing the Master sets of those 😝, and for the rest a "Land Lover" , Arabian Nights have a BIG fondness for, Bazaar of Bagdad is the missing one ..... 🙄😬 , Dark complete, Legends ... just a few, way too big of a set . The Antiquity's like halfway , in cards that is .... 🤣😅😆😁 so in fact all over the place enjoying the art and game. If intersted I have a channel showing some of it. 😁
Oh wow, thank you so much! It really means a lot to us. 💛 We wanted to create something more casual and authentic, great you like it! Hahaha, well what worked with her was opening booster packs together. Sometimes people should just try and they will learn to like certain aspects of things they never thought they would. 😊 She should definitely give it a shot! But, already understanding and supporting each others hobbies and interests is a good start! Good luck! ✨️
A good trick to avoid having to move a lot of cards when you miss a spot in the binder is to check every now and then if the last card of the page is multiple of 9
Im currently scanning my collection using manabox which is VERY efficient with minimal version editing (correcting the set or card#) about half done at about 17,000 scans and im putting little cute cat stickers on the top corner of boxes that are already scanned...i organize by set for now but once im fully scanned ill sort them in a more useful way...I only want a digital inventory so its easier to see what I have to deckbuild or trade because there is no way I can remember what I have at this point, its outta control 😂
We've also heard good things about Manabox and it's been around for a while now. With their longer and more frequent ads, we wouldn't advise to scan a huge collection with Dragon Shield anymore unless you pay for it. We're very curious about your new way of organizing your collection, so keep us up to date! There'll be a video that explains why this method makes a lot of sense for use in the way we use it. 😊 Thank you so much for sharing and have fun with your collection and deckbuilding! ✨️

My inner Monk wants the same kind of organization 😍
Then let your inner monk roam free and organize your cards! 🤣 It's worth it, we promise!
