    Hi Amanda, shouldn't painkiller be 止痛藥,not 退燒藥 which should be anti fever?

    • @5minutecantonese
      @5minutecantonese  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Joanne, yes, literally painkiller is 止痛藥 in general, you can definitely use this term. Just normally we'll specifically say 退燒藥 (especially under covid) which basically means the same stuff like panadol. If you say 止痛藥, for sure people will ask you for which kind of pain. So, for example, if we have headache but not fever, we'll say 頭痛藥, at the end, they will offer us the panadol. 😅

    • @5minutecantonese

      The first one means, I leave first.
      the second one means I leave (now)
      basically it's similar. But for the fist one, you are leaving earlier than the other party.

    I hope this doesn't sound rude, but 175 dollars sounds an awful lot to pay for a few medicines. Are these prices typical?

    • @5minutecantonese
      @5minutecantonese  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      To be honest, it's typical. Especially when there is cough syrup.

    • @stephendavis5433
      @stephendavis5433 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@5minutecantonese Oh right. I probably won't complain about medicine prices in the UK again then. 🤣 Thank for your reply. 🙂

    • @5minutecantonese
      @5minutecantonese  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's even worse at the time when the medicine is running out. The big pharmacy like Boots wouldn't increase the price. But the small local stores would raise the price.
