It's interesting that there are so many language taboos in Hong Kong around death that prevail even in the modern age. Just to share, my favourite Cantonese faux pas I've made was to try and say I've had my lunch using '有咗' much to my colleague's amusement!

Love these short videos! I grew up in HK and did not know some of these.
Also, I’m not sure what your camera set up is, but I would recommend using a microphone that is closer to you for a better sound quality. Even a cheap wired lavalier microphone could work. Would hate poor sound to prevent you from getting more views and subscribers. 加油!

Thanks a lot! I have bought one already 😂. Just these videos I filmed earlier... You'll see the difference (minor😅) later. Hope it will improve the sound quality...
      Thanks again for the support!

A friend of mine an abc was to take her mum to a Dim Sum. So I ask her if I could take my mom with them. This way the more the merrier, as they say.She told me that if I took my mom and her mom and both of were there it would be conisdred as if we were dating.
I told her noooo, but she told me you don;t understand the Chinese culture.
well we never went I felt hurt.My mom is no longer her she has gone over yonder.
I sort of understood what she told me. But my friend is an ABC and we live in NY. Any way there things that even in religion we must accept other peoples culture.I am Spanish by the way.

Thanks for an interesting lesson. I am curious as to why you went from Lesson 56 to Lesson 58. Is 57 a number associated with some form of superstition like 13? In the US, many high rise buildings do not have a 13th floor due to superstition.

OMG! Hahaha... I uploaded this video first as 56 is also related to HK culture. I don't realize it's lesson 58😱😱😱... Next week I will upload lesson 57 😰 it is nothing related to unlucky number 😅😅😅
