    Keep the videos coming, I like that they don’t have some dramatic point you’re making and that they don’t have to be some life changing adventure. You’re stuff is relaxing and easy to watch and you give a unique perspective. I’d say you give the most realistic view of what it’s like to go out and fly a little taildragger. Thanks!

    Well you helped me make the choice to buy an eagle, currently in escrow for it and I’m stoked. I’ll be up north of you at kccb. Would love to get together and do some flying! Would also love more eagle content getting kinda more in depth on it and how it flies!

    Dude….your videos are awesome…. I’ve got over 18,000 hours and I really enjoy watching them…. You’ve inspired me and continue to do so…. Try not to over think it…. When musicians perform at concerts or venues, there’s a lot of repetition for them…. But to the audience it feels really new and fresh…as a creative, try to approach each day with a beginner’s mind…. As if it’s the first time you’ve ever done it….you got this 👍

    It’s the environment. I remember just getting in the Cub and flying the hills of Pa. I landed in an RC club landing field and giving rides. lol. The cub always gives you times to give enjoyment. Plus take other people to say a place to get breakfast. Like the lockhaven field. Mountain where they made Cubs. Great Pancakes. Just a few Ideas.
    Come to Florida and fly my Eagle to say Marathon or Key west. Plenty of places to do regular flying and some aerobatics.

      @alexandercoats for 50,000 years a machine that could allow you to fly was only a dream. I get depressed sometimes about the cost and miserable airfields I visit here in the uk and I wonder if this is what I really want. I fly a low wing robin 200 and at some point I do a 60 degree bank abd see the entire countryside filling that giant window and I realise how special it is to be able to do that.

    My struggle with wanting my PPL is that I can't justify remaining in the pattern.
    If I can find a CFI who wants to train by never going to the same destination for lunch, then I'll be happy to get my PPL and I aim to get multi-engine and instrument ratings and more.
    I'm not saying I won't fly a pattern. If we take off from KBUF and do patterns at every surrounding airfield, and have lunch at a different field each day, I'm all for it.

      Almost all of my training has been in the pattern. I'm nearly complete (and ahead of the curve). Once I have my license, I can fly where I want.
      Delayed gratification.

  • @TheJustinJ
    @TheJustinJ 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    Yes. Flying gets boring.
    There is a reason people gravitate toward aerobatics, competitions, off-airport and STOL-drags. Tbh, I hung it up 3 years ago with Covid after taking a few hours of Pitts transition training. Just not worth the expense vs reward. Even a Cub is not "cheap" around $100/hr, plus hangar and insurance. A Pitts is $300-400/hr. If you count repairs for breaking things. Including fabric, engines and props. I can see the appeal of an RV-3.😅

    • @alexandercoats
      @alexandercoats  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I’m not going to argue any of these claims, these things are expensive and take a very large amount of your time.

    Hey Alex, it's great to see you put the effort in for such frequent videos. You're brilliant at the cinematography aspect every time, and I enjoyed your talk here too, but could I make a slight constructive suggestion for your aerobatic videos - it would be super super great if you could dive into a tiny bit more detail with whatever the subject is. I understand that you are trying to keep the vids relatively simple and perhaps for a wider audience, but I often find myself wondering about a better explanation of whatever the goal is on the day. I feel like you often ask a question or make a statement and then it's just left somewhat unanswered with just cool cinematics filling in the rest of the video. For example with the recent tail slides, it would have been super cool to hear a brief explanation of what they are, how to do them and the complexities (and dangers) of doing them like the reversal of flight controls on the slide down ect... maybe your goal is to keep stuff super simple but I really think diving just a tiny bit deeper into a particular subject would make your videos more interesting.
    You're basically doing what my dream TH-cam channel has always been - doing aeros, and being somewhat of a "Trent Palmer" but with aerobatics. Unfortunately my Christen Eagle is currently broken but you're definitely a great inspiration for whenever I manage to fly it again and start filming :) Keep up the videos!

      See these are the kind of comments I need. I’m honestly just winging videos and I don’t always know how to structure them. My biggest issue is I get to the edit and I leave so much stuff out because I don’t have a straight train of thought.
      I will start working on explaining more and being a bit more clear. I really appreciate you taking the time to watch and lend a hand.

      @@alexandercoats Fantastic! Great to hear you'll take my idea on board! You already have the amazing cinematics and flying skills. I think if you get the story part right, it's gonna be a killer combo :)
      Btw, just as personal video request for the future - it would be great if you did a video on inverted spinning and possibly even inverted flat spinning. It's something I still have to do on my own for the first time and no matter how many times I replay the recovery actions in my head in the armchair, or even a simulator, it's fairly terrifying (at my modest Sportsman level). Anyway, just an idea :)
