  • This was one of the first videos Harry and I made for the 'Next Level Chops' TH-cam channel and it was one of my favourites. I love playing old New Orleans style drumming and it has such a lift to it in a super relaxed sort of way.
As for the drum set, that really came about when I chanced upon the bass drum for sale at the UK's National Drum Fair some years ago. It was in a very sorry state and the whole thing was painted black. After restoration by a local drum shop and a beautiful painting job done on the front head of a New Orleans Steam Boat it was united with my 1929 Ludwig and Ludwig Snare drum, which I had got from Sir Alan Buckley. Add a few 'Traps' and the kit was on its way! I had such fun that day making this video with Harry and I hope you like it too.
    Next Level Chops TH-cam Channel...
The channel was was started about 10 year sago and became extremely popular achieving 4Ok subscribers and up to 1.1million views on just one of my videoes. Sadly the channel was closed down on January 16th this year (2024), however I have all of the original files from Harry and so I will be putting them on this channel in the next weeks and months.
This is the first of around 40 videos, all of which were great fun to make, and the quality got better and better as we went along. Looks like I'm gonna be busy folks! I hope you enjoy this one and please remember to like and subscribe to this channel.

Harry deleted the channel but I have all the files and will be re-instating them on this channel over the next weeks. There are a lot of videos to upload so 'watch this space'

      Thank you for the reply.
It just reminded me to subscribe and and turn on notifications 😄
Do you know why Harry deleted the channel?
Are you allowed to tell us?
I wanted to share a video (Jumping at the woodside) with a musician I know.
It was quite shocking when I couldn't find the channel.

@@stickywicketdrums much appreciated! i used your drum cover of King Oliver's Rhythm Club Stomp in a college presentation on the history of jazz drummers, as i consider your work very important in that field, so it'll be great to have that up again! thank you so much for all your hard work!

@@atlassolid5946 Thank you very much my friend. Your comment is much appreciated too and it is most heartening that you are presenting the history of jazz drummers to College students. Keep up the good work.
