John Entwistle pisses me off for two reasons:
    1) He plays the bass so effortlessly he makes it look easy. Which it is not.
    2) He died.
RIP John, we still love and miss you...

The problem with radio these days is neither the station owners nor the on air people playing the music know what good music is. They will repeatedly play crap but good music like this they will not play. There is so much great music that never gets played on the radio.

I'm a huge Keith Moon fan but Kenny Jones held it down on this album. The man does not get enough credit. No matter who stepped on the throne after Keith, they were going to get a hard time from some of the fans. Any musician that has listened to Face Dances can tell you that Jones is no slouch.

*nikoletta* I see that your post is three years old. How are you faring now? I lost my mother to cancer about 18 months ago, and now i am caring for my soul-sick father. Losing his wife of 50+ years changed him. I never realized it while she was still here, that it was their friction relationship that motivated my father to do things. He would get angry at her nagging him, then he would go get something done. Now with her gone, he just doesn't do anything anymore. We have a Jeep sitting in the garage with the block cap removed, & the cylinders & pistons exposed. It is just as it was when my mother's health left. We have a ceiling fan in a bathroom hanging by wires, because it burnt out, & my father removed it, but he has yet to finish replacing it. He is not who he was.
She was the closest person i had on earth. I know that i am still in the grief process -and i think i will always be. The fact that i miss her is not going away. There is no "get over it". Moving on is one thing, but getting over it is a ridiculous expectation. I find that talking to her helps. Especially when i am in the kitchen. I do a lot of the cooking for my family, and being there helps me reconnect with my mother, and the many hours we spent there together since my childhood. And i try to remember all the things she taught me. And so many times i want to ask her a question again, but she always answers back that she already taught me this, and that i have to trust myself that i know what to do.
And i hope my gushing made some grain of sense.

This is the first album they did after Keith Moon died. This is my favorite song they ever played on every level. Plus having Kenny Jones from the old Rod Stewart days is a huge plus, I'm a drummer myself and I've always admired Kenny Jones as a solid drummer , as well as the Who as top shelf musicians.

Kenny is ridiculous underrated. The only drummers who I have really connected with are Kenny Jones and Keith Moon. I remember thinking Moon’s drumming on Quadrophenia sounded like beautiful war drums, like the sound of a marching army. Kenny’s drumming on Ogden’s Nut Gone Flake (especially Happiness Stan) was the first time I was ever truly blown away by a drummer. He just had such finesse and power on that album. I wish he could’ve repeated that with The Who. He is the only drummer I could be satisfied with replacing Moon.

Actually, there was one Rickenbacker Pete (like his '52 American Telecaster) never took on the road, and it's the one on the album. Whether it's the same one in this video,I don't know. But,there's at least five guitars Pete has he never takes on the road (the Gretsch - which he can be seen with on another video...and while it "met it's fate" during the performance,Pete did get it repaired - the Rickenbacker 12 string, the Fender Telecaster,a Studio Use Gibson J200 and a Gibson SG).

is about Townshend's spiritual mentor Mehar Baba. Also, all three members wanted
Kenny Jones to return for the reunion shows starting in the late 1980s, but he
declined. There had just been too much tension on the 82 farewell tour. Remember
Bob Geldof comparing getting the four of them together for Live Aid to getting one

To me, this album "FACE DANCES" is an underrated gem of The Who's catalog. I like the tighter drumming of Kenny Jones and the focus on melody in the songs. As an 11-year-old lad this record (and I mean vinyl record) was my first real introduction to The Who. I had heard The Who in the 70s of course, "WHO ARE YOU" had been 3 years by then and I heard alot of their other, older tunes on radio. But this album really grabbed me and combined with the videos on MTV I was sold. Heck, I really dig "IT'S HARD" as well.
