I think both KD and WL matter to an extent, you have to win your 1's but you also have to understand when NOT to push or swing because you'll screw over your team. Overall, as long as your KD isn't below 0.8 you should be fine, most important thing is to win the game.

If I had to chose between a person with a 1.5KD but a 0.8WL vs a person with a .8KD and a 1.5WL I would pick WL over KD all day... it tells you that he/she will prob give coms and help the team and not just go for frags playing cod... but also like you say you kinda need both types in a team to win, problem is that today rarly anyone gives info so its really anoying and hard to play and work with ppl...

I always say KD doesnt matter, but it's nice if you can hit your target.
As well as I find my mate with a .6 KD still a fantastic siege player, he drones and calls everything to near perfection, he always picks a hard support operator and plays that role very good and he is always the guy planting, so in that role you could have a .1 KD for all I matter as long as you contribute to the team.

Kd doesn't matter. You can bait for kd, you can spawn peek get a pick then not die the rest of the round and repeat the whole game. You can play with good players who jus drag out then u get 2 kills bc u stay in sight and don't die then u get a free 2kd out of it. Kd doesn't matter, point blank period
only time kd matters if its an extreme. for example below 0.6 and above 1.4. then it definitely should tell u something about the player

i think KD matters to a certain extent when solo queueing there comes a point where if you are missing your shots but in a coordinated stack i dont think it matters as long as you "make up for it" with calls and comms and support
I think KD matters but I wouldn't count 0.8 or 0.9 as a low KD. I tend to run around 1.2 ranked KD but I have no problem with playing with 0.8s as long as they communicate well and aren't stupid. Now if someone has a 0.5 that means they can't win gunfights and that's an issue
0.9 is a low kd, if you cant keep up with your kill/death ratio to atleast a 1 (which means you kill just as much as you die) it does mean you're not very good at winning gun fights, atleast in my opinion.

Before watching who wins.. I think kd matters to a certain extent only because of the meta we’re in right now. (Swing or be swung).
Swing or not swinging doesn't always determine gunfights. Positioning, crosshair placement, and ability to track enemy movement can outgun someone swinging 75% of the time
IMO Ultimately I think its down to RNG, if you get a good team that'll work together or if you get a player like that ieDrift that'll spawn peak with Kaid & Mira & cost you rounds because they refuse to play as a team.
Yeah kd does not matter. I used to have a 1.5 baiting and saving kd all the time. Now i just play Normally and i struggle to even be positive every game. I could easily get positive kd if i played a certain way.

I don't think kd matters too much. Especially if you solo like me. I'm an xbox player with a 1.2 kd, but I am a bronze 2. I might be better if I had a team. That is a significant factor to being good in a game like siege

I meet someone/solo q random with 0.8 KD but he have the highest rank (Diamond 2) on our team in ranked match (we 4 stack gold 1,3,5 and plats 3)

He often pick either Lion, Dokk, IQ, Cav, Mozz, valk so he able to give us intel.
KD doesn't matter. It's all about your positioning, intel comms, and how good your mouse skill are.

Im curious about all the guys ranks cuz if one team has high kd champs and diamonds the low kd guys have lower rannks id say this isnt really a fair matchup. So i would prefer to pick people who all have the same highest rank.
Kd does matter! Garfield didn't check stats before inviting people for the low kd team. Ajholt7 is a 1.4kd 2.0 champ and a ex 1.0 D3 with a 1.1kd average, so basically this video proves that kd matters since the low kd players who genuinely have low kd lose gunfights and the high kd players pretending to be low kd carried so this video proves kd matters
I find it funny how even the high rank/high kd players don't aim head level, at least most of the time they didn't
K/d matters when you start hitting a 0.8 or lower because this is still a fps at the end of the day you gotta win your one’s however I’d say your win loss represents how well you understand strats and the fundamentals of playing the objective imo
I don't think kd matters much after the ranked 2.0 update. When I play with my champ friends I go even or negative, but when I play with friends that are silver or gold skill level then I can go double digit positive. who you're usually queuing up with plays a big part in what your kd will be in my opinion.

@@peyton1895it's difficult to gauge, but K/D matters with context, like you say people can frag easier when the opponents suck, so you have to look at the person's rank as well as K/D, remember, even if your friends have a champion RP that doesn't mean anything towards their actual ELO, the game matchmakes based on the now hidden ELO, so your visible rank means nothing. You can have a champion RP with copper ELO, a good example is VarsityGaming's copper to champ series, look at his matches since ranked 2.0, the skill doesn't change much between "copper" and "champion" that's because it's the same ELO the whole time despite the RP changing

K/D doesn't matter to the extent a lot of people think. There are people who think K/D is EVERYTHING, and that's a terrible mentality. K/D however is still important to a degree.
I like to compare R6 to a puzzle. The defenders setup the puzzle, then the attackers "solve" the puzzle. Kills are an aspect of the puzzle, but not the whole solution. There are many factors: positioning, your comp, how you approach, the utility you bring, your aim, attention to detail, decision making, etc.
In the end, K/D is just one aspect of MANY that matter to success.

K/d will be higher or lower based on the role you play on the team. It can be an indicator however is not always a determining factor imo.

I personally think that when most people say KD matters, its referring to the difference between a 0.5 and 1.5. 1.1 and 0.9 are basically the same.
I sort of disagree considering I was an 0.9 kd player two years ago and compared to now (1.1 kd) I’m leagues better than I was 2 years ago
@@deadsunshine4756 On a personal level yes, you will be better than your previous 0.9 self. Ive been playing siege around a year or so now and I started at like 0.47 kd, Im average 1.2-1.4 in ranked now. A whole team is different than 1 player.

Haven’t watched the vid yet. When I think of high KD players, I think of entry fraggers and people that seek out kills. People like that will probably lose against people that play objective and time. If you are able to just waste attackers time or control site, then you will win even if you don’t win all engagements.

A good idea is to have 1 highest rank person on each team. They have to play with all bronze on their team. I feel like that would be kinda funny to see
It matters to a degree, but not nearly as much as people think. I can't tell you how many matches I've won, simply by not allowing the other side to plant (bomb) or grab hostage; all without getting a kill. That being said, you do need to be able to win a gunfight or three.
The ajholt guy had a 1.5 kd in champ last season. So I wouldn’t really say this was low kd versus high kd for every player
ye but war has higher KD overall and plays more than ajholt and aj haven’t played much the begging of the season and he was literally copper when he join we just exploited the fact that we let him roam and positioning was great for all of us
We all know, for our own happiness, kd matters. But for games, KOST matters more. It determines how valuable you are towards winning the game, in a game/session/season.

I had a 1.5 k/d since the start of the season and has only dropped recently but my friend's friend was being a jerk yesterday and wouldn't shut up about my k/d being 1.2 now yet i have a higher one that him
That’s probably because he sucks at the game and doesn’t know anything other than kd. Once people learn to start looking at gameplay and stop looking at numbers/make excuses is when they start to improve

Ofc your ability to take a gunfight matters and that translates into k/d. That said I've seen plenty of players carry a match without getting a lot of kills playing purely as support or taking objective efficiently.
KD tells you If you are in a rank you deserve. If you have high kd and don’t bait. You’re a higher rank thank what you have. Negative kd means you should be a lower rank
Does KD matter? Depends, if you're a hard support or a soft support then no. If you're a entry, of course. I don't expect Thermite or Thatcher to drop 6-2 every game. Yet I would expect that from Ash or Iana.

I feel like low kd players either are level 4 and terrible are support rolls and help or just clutch a game every so often or wins a round or 2 a game solo but does bad the rest but kd don’t matter but it kinda does you need 1-3 good kd players then 1-2 low kd or support players like Monty and just help
my K/D is so bipolar it fucks with, I ended last season on 1.3-4 at like diamond 3-2. This season so far I think I have a .7 or .8 and I am barely hanging onto Emerald. I am a pretty casual player and I don't really caaare about my rank or K/D, but it fluxes like that a lot.

I feel that the high KD does not reflect if you are better at playing because that only determines a coefficient of kills per death.
And the rank only determines a scoring system where your KD and your Win/Lose coefficient determine what your participation in a game is and how often, Also how seriously you play each game. (I don't play Ranked but that's how it works in other competitive games, I guess it works the same here)
And not to mention the level, the level only determines how long you have been playing or how much time you dedicate to the game. (I am level 200 and I am defeated by copper ranks 😂)
You're kind of close, but you missed the mark on how ranked works in siege. Your K/D ratio has nothing to do with your rank whatsoever, the algorithm doesn't take it into account, the only statistic tracked by the game is whether or not you are winning, additionally it used to track how often you were winning or losing games in a row to determine if you were put in a rank that was just the right amount of challenge. It doesn't do that anymore, it just tracks W/L and slowly decreases the amount it will bump you up by over each game

I think if you have a high kd, you play the game smarter than a low kd would, also it seems like people with low kd are slow and have bad crosshair placement
Sometimes, but their are those players that bait their teammates for higher KD & players that'll willing play a supportive role helping others frag out & get none of the credit for it. So long as your actually doing something to help the team win that's all that matters really.

I don't think KD matters that much in Siege. You obviously want all your team mates to win the important gun fights... but Sometimes your individual role is intel, utility clearing, human droning with shield, diversion.... etc. Sometimes it's even cannon fodder. All that matters is the W in the end.

Lower KD players tend to be the support players so they're less likely to be the first into a fight (therefore less likely to get kills), they tend to sit in the back & help the fragger's job easier. However this does mean the supports are more likely to be the targets of flankers (which likely leads to their lower KD overall). Still Support players should still have the ability to win 1v1s even if their not fraggers you can't be sloppy or you'll be deadweight.
@@amadhatter3280 yes i agree, but also disagree. See higher kd players tend to be slower. Letting the enemy walk in to their scopes instead of taking a gunfight necessary for map control. Atleast in my friendgroup. Also yeah lower kd players might have entryfraggers leaving crumbs for the lower kd resulting in either the better players left or just the lower kd overextending cause of 5v2 or so. KD matters but you need to think of what they use. If they use a support operator then 1.0kd is fine if you play osa or a different aggressive operator it should be high
