It is interesting that the vikings still are so captivating to us. Even to the degree that there´s a tradition in Spain called "The Viking festival of Catoira"; in this festival, there´s a simulation of a viking attack where the villagers try to fend off the vikings. Good fun! Thanks for another great video!
I didnt just comment on that one community post, im back baby 🎉 Great topic, probably vid too, but cant judge until im done watching 😂 Edit: I did finish watching it, indeed great video, thanks
One king from the Vikings (I believe Norway)sent an emissary to Al-Andalus after this incident and abd-al-rahman did to Majoos : an old arabic of the Sassanids religion and then it become general word for pegans
Thanks for watching! Majus (al- majous) was indeed applied and refers to Zoroastrian religion and then to all pagans. There’s indeed accounts of Vikings and Muslims sending “diplomats” to each other. But if this happened directly after the first Viking raid, or even at all is difficult to say. There’s a story about a man called al-Ghazal (the gazelle) that visited the Vikings. In this chronicle he’s mainly boasting about flirting with the queen of the Vikings and making remarks about the independence of the Nordic women. The chronicle contains many factual faults which indicates that it was written at a later date. Don’t forget to like & subscribe!
Well, I think it’s a little unfair to call them see were yours, since they were also very good very good explorers of the beating Christopher Columbus to the Americus with about 500 years and then being explorers, I think it’s unlikely that they just stayed at this one point where they had found remains of long houses etc.. They probably sailed up and down the coast and hounds the continent got its name Wineland because they probably sailed very far south as well. Where they could find things such as grapes I found the Saed is that they called today Native Americans shriekers because of their battle of Christ etc.. It would be interesting to know what the tribes that encounter the Vikings thought when they first saw them pale people wearing wool arriving in really large ships. sea and it’s kind a need to have oceangoing landing crafts. I don’t think there are many examples of those like the Higgins boats in World War II were absolutely not ocean going.
Last year I heard a report of Vikings, possibly staying in North America into the 12th century that would’ve been kind of awesome let’s see where the evidence leads us by the way, someone with African DNA that have lived here for hundreds and hundreds of hundreds of years they were brought here by the Vikings often as slaves best or soften S Skola Lars or just interesting people in general if you can find an English translation, or read Swedish, I suggest you look up the book röde ormsjöfarare i österled och i västerled it takes place where am I at Sweden at least south of Sweden are gradually being Kristen and oh are M which is Swedish for a snake his theme is literally red snake worse one person that got Kristen but he also where in Spain and being bodyguard him and his friends for a very important Muslim Aamir The story itself is fiction, but it’s a very good fiction. Based on very good real history not exactly historical persons sure some of them like Harold Bluetooth shows up but yes, read it if you are at all interested in the Vikings.

I think it’s a bit degrading to correlate people pagans yes because they believe in smaller religions
