      Maybe if people had more free time instead of 9 to 9 work 6 days a week, they might be more eager to socialize. Maybe full-on capitalistic society with little regard to human conditions isn't such a great thing. Maybe that's why a Japanese person is so lonely.

      +Flamedoge overworking is a major cause in my opinion as well. Plus there is the costs associated with dating, marrying, having children,etc. Do Japanese people not date to only have sex? because most of the time they talk as if the relationship is going to end up in marriage !

      There is nothing faulty with natural instinct - until it's interfered with. Mainstream media over balances instinctive human behaviour in favour of whichever ruling political party is in power. Western mainstream thinking is unfortunately unmatched by it's over-free approach to sexuality, whichever political party is currently in power, resulting in many a touristic holiday that in any other century would be considered soul destroying and obscene. I would not sell off precious stores of human integrity simply to be progressive.

      I've always liked the idea of waking up and the having an AI tell you the morning or news but not as a replacement for human interesting. I also don't like the idea of the AI having a face or much of a personality. I think we should keep AI's like this to keep reminding us that it's not a human instead of making it more human.

    That was actually depressing if it's used as a real girlfriend. I definitely feel like that's a "rock bottom" level of social relationship

    • @fuzi4746
      @fuzi4746 7 ปีที่แล้ว +17

      Well, not really depressing, it is for those who have a "normal" happy life... A lot of people never get to meet a girlfriend/boyfriend on their entire lives, be it because of their appearance, personality, money or other stuff like that... It's actually an effort to bring those people happiness (in exchange of their money, of course lol). But still, there's a long way till those products start feeling like the real deal. If we were an omnipresent being and watched everything that happened in the world, life would feel like hell for sure. There are so many living beings suffering out there and most of us are not even aware of them, and probably never will be...

    • @Panthro-lo2lh
      @Panthro-lo2lh 7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Define "normal" in terms of the point you're making. One would assume a "normal" life would encompass a "normal" social life with at least moderate recreational social interaction which would include some level of dating. If your life completely excludes romantic interaction to the point where you need affection from a VI, it might be time to take a step back and figure out what went wrong. I'm not saying that as a put down, but honest reflection may get things back on track.

    • @mathew633man
      @mathew633man 7 ปีที่แล้ว +29

      It could be a rock bottom, but that's better than suicide. It's like how some people turn to cult or gambling to fill the void. I don't think it's quite abnormal at all. It's actually very normal to reach the "rock bottom" at some point in your life. Some people just need something to grab on to live through the day.

    I think Japanese have always worked as groups for a very long time and being in an individual relationship is somewhat hard for them. Relationship is hard for anyone but I think it would be harder for Japanese because they always pursued being a member of a group not an individual.

      in a way theyre right. a lot of japanese folks are just done with trying to get into a relationship because of various factors, and i feel their pain. so if they can afford something like this at least they have someone(thing) to come home to. lets face it, no one wants to come home to a cold, silent apartment especially later on in life. human beings need companionship for their mental well being and while this doesnt solve everything it at least gives the illusion that they have someone waiting for them at home

      In addition, I've heard that many Japanese guys are simply too "hazukashi" and as mentioned in the interview, they might not even want to try to avoid getting rejected or hurt. As an American, I know from personal experience from stepping up to the plate to a Japanese girl, it works...they will warm up faster than you think, but 95% of the time, you as the man must initiate first and as long as you are calm and cool, things will unfold from there.

    Japan definitely isn't the only country that has these problems... but perhaps it seems like they have been hit by technology and modern life killing natural (and vital) social relationships the hardest. you see this all over the developed world. it is really sad how in the US, all I see constantly with people my age in public are people who are glued to their phone screen and sometimes not even communicating with their friend sitting right in front of them. or people who seem to care more about their Facebook life and how they appear online/in selfies than caring about developing their real life. I'm so sick of screens being everywhere and dominating our lives. ironically I am typing this while staring at a computer screen hahaha... of course some screen time or the internet is okay, but many people take it to the extreme nowadays. I might just shut it down now and go for a walk or visit a friend...

    • @Limemill
      @Limemill 7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      It's kind of more of a cultural thing. You sure saw the black-and-white demotivator photo from the 1920s or 1930s showing a bus full of British people, all of them stuck in their own newspaper. Lol. Different time and technology, same urge. It's more about culture than epoch, I'd say. I dare you to try to hide behind your cellphone somewhere in Brazil (unless it's the workaholic Sao Paulo). I couldn't when I was there even when I wanted to. There was no way avoiding conversations with totally random strangers all day long. And while people do stare at screens, in cultures similar to Brazil they are actively discussing what they're seeing with others, sharing stuff with them and engaging them by all means to active interaction.

      Jonathan Mulondo And if it wasn't a trend among men to desire a less intelligent girl. And if it wasn't another trend among men to view girlfriends/wifes as property and feel so humiliated when they break up/divorce them that they stalk and kill them. Or if another trend - feeling worthless and undeserving of love and companionship - didn't exist.
      Idk how it is with women, but with men - there is an issue with self worth imo, that can develop further into a huge ego or self-deprication.
      Part of the beauty of the Japanese society is in how traditional they are, but in some aspects of tradition and things that "always were that way" change needs to happen in order to have a healthy society and healthy individuals.

    I think that this is actually pretty smart, just if it was made into a version made for people that has problems with speaking to other humans.
    During my whole childhood I didn't have many to converse with, now I'm always quiet and being called a creep/pervert because I choose to stare over making actual conversations because that's what I consider normal in my book.
    This could be a great invention to train up people like me to converse with other people more on their daily basis, and for those who live the loner life or have problems with showing emotions it could also be really great to have someone living or technology to give them some love and motivation once in a while.

    Think it this way: If AI replaces the position of a girlfriend, it would make guys' life actually x10 easier. Similar to highly advanced sex doll, evolution is just matter of time before taking those sex dolls to the next level and making it nearly impossible to differentiate from actual humans. The question we should be asking isn't "when" but "if." People will be able to use the product to fit their need, and they don't have to waste time on dealing with unnecessary things in a relationship. Similar to a restaurant: people go there to eat. After they are done, they leave. It's that simple.

    • @Clads112

    • @lilacblue783
      @lilacblue783 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's honestly just so sad. That people would prefer something fake over something real. People just what everything easy. That's why relationship don't work anymore. People aren't prepared to put in the effort and sacrifice

    • @duskshadow25
      @duskshadow25 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@lilacblue783 It doesn't really have to do with fake/real; it has to do more with conveniency. 3/4 of the marriages end up in divorce, then you have to give up half of your money to your spouse. So basically a lot of people don't want to divorce, but they are miserable at the same time because they aren't happy with the relationship. It's also why people end up cheating because they aren't happy in their relationship and can't leave either.
      There's nothing good that comes out of a marriage other than some tax reduction. But if you are getting married just for the sake of a minor tax reduction, you probably shouldn't be in a marriage in the first place.
      I'm not saying which side is better, but I am saying AI can eventually get to the point where it becomes better than actual real human. It's already like that now with some of the restaurants service and warehouses industry, especially for companies such as Amazon, Google, Facebook, Microsoft, etc.
      Let's say you are in a relationship right now. There are days where your partner is going to make excuse about herself being tired or not in the mood, or she doesn't want to do this or that or whatever the reason may be, but AI will never have that problem. AI doesn't give you drama, AI doesn't fight with you, AI doesn't make you to shop and buy things for her that you don't give a crap about, AI doesn't make you pretend that you actually have to care so much about a lot of the trivial things when you actually just don't care. You can just be you and not have to put any effort into a relationship. You can come home and leave home whenever you want. You have that freedom and option to choose and do whatever you want. Even the sex service is all based on whenever you want to have it and how you want it, and there's no repercussion of pregnancy or complicacy of no in the middle of sex and becoming rape or any of those other crap that comes along with it.
      Now ask yourself from a logical point of view, why wouldn't anyone want that? It's basically AI taking all the bad things you hate about relationships from people and they give you only the good things. It makes your life so much easier and more convenient.

I would like an innocent sweet greeting like that from a male version ! I like the little robot so much ! I feel sorry for all the Japanese men who are lonely and working themselves to death at times. I am very interested in Japanese culture and why so many men (and women) are driven to depression sometimes staying indoors for years or worse. If anyone who is lonely in Japan and also interested in English culture/language, please let me know, we can be company at least by mail, it would stop a little loneliness on both sides but only in an innocent way, like the little robot !

    That dog will get you to go outside, and maybe, meet other people. It's an ice breaker, and it will show you are responsible person and committed.

    Asian Boss, your videos are GREAT, but PLEEEEASE get a handheld mic or a boom mic for your videos..... It is a tiny detail that makes a HUGE difference!
    Every time I see you holding the lavalier mic rolled up in the wireless transmitter, I cannot avoid looking at it. My attention gets quickly thrown away by that weird piece of gear that you hold in your hand.
    I don't know if you ever notice, but sometimes even your interviewees get distracted by your mic! Some of them make funny expressions while looking at it, trying to figure out what is that "thing."
    Perhaps a regular wireless mic with a standard "microphone look" would be less distracting for your viewers and/or interviewees. In case you don't want to keep holding a mic in your hands, an omnidirectional boom mic attached to your camera could easily solve the problem, and you won't even have to bother holding a mic in your hands.
    Anyway, because I enjoy your videos, I thought you would enjoy some feedback.
    Congrats on your work and keep up with your videos !!!

    Japan should adopt arranged marriage if they find dating troublesome. Just telling your kids go out and marry won't help. In India, if you don't marry by finding your own partner, your parents will make you marry to someone eligible according to their standards. Marriage and kids is not a problem here but staying single is one societal problem in India. 😂😂😂
