Hi Jana. First: thank you so much for doing the x-mas vlogs again this year. I`ve been enjoying the time with you alot. It has been so nice to just sink in the sofa and escape from illnesses/ viruses, work, snow/rain/ice and knit with you :) I can relate to the struggles with kids, snow, no daylight, work, school and illnesses ;) This is the real life for most of us and no point in hiding it. I much rather watch and listen to real lifte rather than a nice, fake and right mooded vlog. So thank you for sharing. Second: I get so inspired by your scrappy projects. I`ve been saving my sockyarn leftovers for years. I do knit alot of scrappy socks, but I can not knit enought socks to get rid of my scrappy stash. So I really need to just start a blancet/ throw or/& those leggings where a eyecathcer. I`m working in a kindergarden and I`m outside for hours every day. Living in Norway (from the north, but living outside Oslo) I can relate to the fact that it snows alot, get really cold alot and the lack of daylight :) Third: what about a hat calld Gro hat by Fibertales OR even better: Vouno Hat by Ronja Hakalehto. They would both look great in theat lovley beigy-softpink yarn of yours. Have a nice day.

I do not live in a cold climate, but in the winter I do wear comfy leggings under my skirts when we have chilly days. Your pink lace weight and mohair yarns will make a beautiful hat. You probably saw CamiJoKnit Designs' pink hat she knitted during her Vlogmas.
I don’t know about your area, but here in Vermont, USA, we have a very long winter and December is just the beginning of it! February may only be 28 days, but it is the longest month of the year! 😂 So… if anyone wants to start an advent in January through March to get us through, I’d be super excited for it! 😂❤

We had a cold Christmas Eve, 1c, but 4 days later, it was 26c. It will be chilly again but hopefully not too many days. I would melt in the woolie pants, but they are beautiful. So sad to miss hearing you every day, but it will be a treat whenever you are on.

I love to knit but I can't do it anymore 😔 😕. My hands have arthritis that makes it difficult. So am afraid I have to crochet because it is easier for my hands. So I think I am going to look for a round scrappy throw to crochet. If I do half-double crochet stitches it may look similar. How big is Sophie's bunny? Sounds like your little ones have a super Grandma. I loved being a Nana, which is what my five grandchildren call me. Problem is that now the oldest one is 34 and the youngest is 22 they don't want to play dinosaur lands or bunny houses anymore. Honestly, I would still be quite happy to. 😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅. That 'hat yarn' is sooo pretty. I would knit a plain hat holding the lace weight yarn double and then add the mohair as well to make a wide (deep?) up-turned brim so it looks like a fur brim, then make a pom pom with both yarns. Being a plain hat, the 2 yarns would be really showcased.

Happy 2023 wishes to you, too! So glad to see you back online after the Christmas chaos! I think that the yarn from Angela would make to most charming artist beret-you know, the slouchy kind. I love the bunny house! So clever. I also got the strong itch to straighten up my stash, which turned out to take 2 full days for me with a girlfriend. I have a large wooden basket overflowing with yarn odds and ends. Rather than knit something scrappy, I will be teaching knitting to several people of different ages in the next couple of months, and I will invite them to take the bits and bobs that they like for practice. My granddaughter has insisted that I take time-out from my WIPs to knit her a hat, which she described. I tried to find something similar on Ravelry but failed. Then I found Devin Ventre (Knitty McPurly) and her free pattern for the Gumdrop hat, with the earflaps and pompoms requested! Am using Knitted Wit Victory DK in the wildly bright multi-colorway called Love is Love (well worth viewing online!). Here is a happy thought for you to contemplate. We are less than 60 days from March, when we will start seeing signs of spring!

I have been wanting to buy the Laine book that you purchased but it is quite expensive especially once you add the shipping to the US. I thought about getting the ebook but it is still like $36 so if I get it I think I'm just going to get the actual book. You are correct about the patterns....they are all so good, in fact, I can see myself knitting every pattern except for maybe one. I think I am going to have to splurge and buy it...I'll call it a birthday present from myself (Jan. 10th..yay!!!). As I sit here knitting with you, I am knitting the Oslo hat from tin can knits - 30:21 I think - it’s held with mohair, and I’m using holst garn super soft which I’ve doubled with the mohair. It’s so think, so soft, and like a beautiful hug on my head. The hat is pretty simple in its construction, and I think it would be stunning in the colour you have, and very easy to modify to the lace weight with mohair. Im knitting my 2nd one, and I think I’ll cast on a 3rd, in a champagne colour. Too pretty not to. Thanks for the inspiration. 😉 Btw: I can’t tell you how much I love the pants your making. I really love everything you make, but the pants are next level to me. Those colours!! They are absolutely going into my queue! Happy New Year! 💕🇨🇦

Hi Jana thank you for the lovely knit and chat keeping me company while I had my morning coffee, I loved all your works in progress projects the leggings look wonderful and so colourful and the Shawl looks like a great project for all the beautiful bits we collect as knitters and The Anthology Throw will most likely be my next big winter project to be cast on in April here we are in our summer stormy season so translated that means over 30 C with very high humidity or raining 🌧 Helen Stewart has the Tchaikovsky Hat that I think would look good with your yarn you may have to use it doubled, there is also a hat in the Knitvent 22

How about a Sterenn beret? It’s one that Ellie on Craft House Magic just showed on her recent podcast. I think that would be awesome made with that yarn.
I recommend the Kolmen Earflap hat pattern. I made it twice with some suri and once with regular alpaca. It shows of the yarn very well and is fun to make, as well as very warm. I used thinner yarn than specified, but just adjusted the pattern to suit my gauge.

Happy 2023 wishes to you, too! So glad to see you back online after the Christmas chaos! I think that the yarn from Angela would make to most charming artist beret-you know, the slouchy kind. I love the bunny house! So clever. I also got the strong itch to straighten up my stash, which turned out to take 2 full days for me with a girlfriend. I have a large wooden basket overflowing with yarn odds and ends. Rather than knit something scrappy, I will be teaching knitting to several people of different ages in the next couple of months, and I will invite them to take the bits and bobs that they like for practice. My granddaughter has insisted that I take time-out from my WIPs to knit her a hat, which she described. I tried to find something similar on Ravelry but failed. Then I found Devin Ventre (Knitty McPurly) and her free pattern for the Gumdrop hat, with the earflaps and pompoms requested! Am using Knitted Wit Victory DK in the wildly bright multi-colorway called Love is Love (well worth viewing online!). Here is a happy thought for you to contemplate. We are less than 60 days from March, when we will start seeing signs of spring!

I'm still in the middle of reorganising my stash, as I'm only doing it after the kids go to bed. I hope good order brings me even more creative ideas. Plus I can donate some yarn to the Ukrainian craft group again. 😊

Hi Janna! Those pants are fantabulous! I just love how the black and the bright colors are marling together. I have been wanting to buy the Laine book that you purchased but it is quite expensive especially once you add the shipping to the US. I thought about getting the ebook but it is still like $36 so if I get it I think I'm just going to get the actual book. You are correct about the patterns....they are all so good, in fact, I can see myself knitting every pattern except for maybe one. I think I am going to have to splurge and buy it...I'll call it a birthday present from myself (Jan. 10th..yay!!!). I hope you and your family are staying warm and you're enjoying the time you've been spending with your Mama. It sounds like you've been able to have a little time to yourself since she has been visiting and keeping the kids occupied. I hope 2023 brings you lots of love and happiness....keep on knitting!

As I sit here knitting with you, I am knitting the Oslo hat from tin can knits - 30:21 I think - it’s held with mohair, and I’m using holst garn super soft which I’ve doubled with the mohair. It’s so think, so soft, and like a beautiful hug on my head. The hat is pretty simple in its construction, and I think it would be stunning in the colour you have, and very easy to modify to the lace weight with mohair. Im knitting my 2nd one, and I think I’ll cast on a 3rd, in a champagne colour. Too pretty not to. Thanks for the inspiration. 😉
Btw: I can’t tell you how much I love the pants your making. I really love everything you make, but the pants are next level to me. Those colours!! They are absolutely going into my queue!

Hi Jana thank you for the lovely knit and chat keeping me company while I had my morning coffee, I loved all your works in progress projects the leggings look wonderful and so colourful and the Shawl looks like a great project for all the beautiful bits we collect as knitters and The Anthology Throw will most likely be my next big winter project to be cast on in April here we are in our summer stormy season so translated that means over 30 C with very high humidity or raining 🌧 Helen Stewart has the Tchaikovsky Hat that I think would look good with your yarn you may have to use it doubled, there is also a hat in the Knitvent 22

I recommend the Kolmen Earflap hat pattern. I made it twice with some suri and once with regular alpaca. It shows of the yarn very well and is fun to make, as well as very warm. I used thinner yarn than specified, but just adjusted the pattern to suit my gauge.

Hi Jana! Selma from a little Big Knits released a simple hat pattern called the Westboro Hat. It uses light fingering and mohair, but your beautiful yarns might work as well. I tried putting a link to the pattern on Ravelry but TH-cam deleted my comment, so you’ll need to search for it I’m afraid 😊
