  • I have finally resolved the buzzing coming from the engine bay. I then had an issue with the maps for the PCM and have sorted that too.
    Hopefully others find this useful.

Very interesting re the rear panels and the buzzing. There are a couple I’ve sorted out on my car in the last few years but there’s still one I hear intermittently and I’ll check this out!

There is nothing more pleasurable if you can do maintenance yourself I have 2.7 pdk great car one moan 20” carreras harsh ride

True. It’s nice to find a problem and resolve it yourself. I don’t mind the ride it’s the tyre roar that frustrates me on longer drives. It makes the cabin pretty noisy.

Great intel on the boot trim - useful to know. I was planning to clone my PCM drive too and you’ve reminded me to do it before it fails! I think that system won’t address more than 40gb so there’s little point in putting anything larger in?
Also, driving: have you explored a bit of trail breaking yet? PDK box ideal for learning your left foot ‘pressures’ (rather than the manual).

Apparently the original drive is 100gb so the chap put in a SSD one that is 250gb.
I haven’t my left foot is pants and I was only saying last week to my wife I need to give it more time and practice.

      @@wheelsandwatches SSD’s - great. Thank you.
Actually, it’s easy enough to trail brake with your right foot. No doubt there are some credible instructor/videos on here to whet your appetite.

@christianpratt I do brake late in to corners and pivot my right foot on the heal from accelerator to brake. Works well given the pedal positions.

@@wheelsandwatches Aah! Right. Well you’re all set by the sounds of it. And I agree - the 981 chassis responds really well to late braking. Feels amazing when the car hooks up and rotates into the apex.
