Stuart at LVMH organised a meeting with a zenith watch maker following the issues I had with the movement in my pilot big date flyback ceramic. I was amazed that I got to do this and truly loved it. Geeking out with the guy who designed the movement was amazing.

Glad you are finding my videos useful 😃
Did you spray paint the mirror housings or is there a shiny black version like that from the factory?
The car came like that. They could have been sprayed by a previous owner.
Is dark grey or black? Thanks.
Dark grey.
Nice video. Just picked up a 39 this week. What screw size for the bracelet? I do my Omega, but haven't touched this yet. I heard 1.4mm, Thanks!
I no longer have my watch so can’t check. I just used the screwdriver that fit best. Sorry.
If u don't like the watch, sell the watch
I do like the watch but yes have just sold it.
@@wheelsandwatches no you didn't! I was kidding!
The watch is spot on and if I didn’t own it I would have bought it. Sadly I just wasn’t wearing it.
Mine went back to Zenith in February due to the “knocking the side” issue. I finally got it back in July, only to now have the chrono reset issue. It takes 4-5 presses to get it back to 12. My AD has it now and is working with Zenith on a replacement. I also wrote a letter to the new CEO - I have several Zeniths and none have had any issues, disappointed, etc. I have not yet heard back. This is very disappointing. I bought it in June 2023 and have not been able to wear it for close to half of that time.
That’s a shame, I’m sure they will sort it for you and this will all be a distant memory eventually. Mine had been spot on and I wear it pretty much every day.
@@wheelsandwatches My AD is expecting a new shipment this week and I will get one of those as a replacement.
Thanks for the update. When I reset the chrono, sometimes it lands 1/10 to 1/20 of a second off from the 12 'o clock mark - a second press of the reset pusher puts it back dead on. Do you still face a similar issue? I'm thinking whether it's worth sending in for such a small deviation when everything else about my copy is running perfectly (seems like many people on forums mention that other issues can potentially happen when sending a watch in for service). Cheers
No I wouldn’t bother, I only sent mine back as it moved of the 12 o’clock position with the slightest of knocks.
@wheelsandwatches Thanks for the feedback. I've had 2 instances where the movement stopped when activating the chrono, but haven't been able to replicate the event thereafter - have read that it's possible due to the lateral clutch movement but will keep tabs and see.
@danieltan9999 the good thing is you know there is a fix for it if it bothers you at some stage. Alternatively get it done when the watch is eventually serviced.
Is that white mclaren the type you are considering??
That’s a very light blue and the spider variant. I’m looking at the coupe but effectively the same car, yes. His most recent service was £7k 🤪 Had a good chat with him and he basically proved my research to be spot on in terms of what issues he has had. I’m after a 570s coupe.
Why on earth car and bike meets are on grass will always baffle me. Gotta be UK 🇬🇧
Sadly they tend to be the only areas with adequate parking.
@@wheelsandwatches I always assumed it was the only legal place… you could easily fit a car show into most trading estates on a Sunday when it’s all shut. But I suspect the land owners wouldn’t want it
@MAJ0RMEL0DY exactly, there have been issues in trading estates, Supermarket car parts etc in the past.
@@wheelsandwatches shame the uk doesn’t really embrace its love for motoring the way it should.
Thanks for the review! 🙌
Thanks for watching 👍
Looks crap.
Your vocal Frye is so annoying
I am on day 1 with the rubber so wish me luck. Im enjoying the sleeper look and the potential versatility.
I loved it on the rubber. If it had the T-fit on the rubber it would have stayed on it.
Such a beautiful interesting watch. The only negative being it’s effect on the rest of the collection 😅. Have you yet to try it on a different strap. Or like me are you content with the best combo being OEM?
I have tried it on Artem and other straps but I like the clasp it comes on and the look of the zenith strap. I am bugging zenith on social media to create more colour options! I had my omega on heaps of straps including omega nato but it always ends up back on its original bracelet.
Ever though about the 42?. I went for that over the 39 as I like a chunky watch.
I did own the blue 42 and did like it but oddly couldn’t get a comfy fit. I prefer the dimensions of the 39 to be honest. I do like the LHD though.
I've owned 2 tudors and they both had issues with dust and obvious flaws on the dial. I was going to buy another Tudor. I was looking at the watch in the store, and there was obvious dust under the dial, which I saw with my naked high in the store to be clear. I now own an IWC and an Omega. They are much better companies that Tudor or Rolex in my opinion!
I have the exact opposite, 2 Tudor watches and zero issues. No dust on the dial and they are very accurate about +1 sec a day
@@key4duty I was buying back before 2020. Maybe they are better now. I want a blue pelages but I am afraid to buy one.
I am not even sure they have resolved the issues I had with mine. I have lume on the bezel fall out and the bezel seized twice. Never used it in salt water so no idea why that happened.
I own 3 Longines watches and I've NEVER had to send them back for QC issues. Tudor charges $4-5 for their watches and being this lax in deciding whether defective watches get sold is outrageous. The parroted cliche I read that Tudor is 80% of Rolex or 'what Rolex used to be' is bullshit. There's many cool brands in this price range for you to choose from.
It is disappointing. Having said that, when my longines was serviced it came back with smudged on the dial. All watches can have issues but Tudors do seem to be quite poor, at least from my experience.
So I would love to know what cruise line you are sailing with and the ships name? I've been seriously considering a cruise to the Norwegian fjords and would love some feedback. I'm a big watch fan but prefer your omega
Hi, we are sailing with P&O on the Iona. A magnificent ship with a huge amount to do. I can understand that. The omega is a watch with wider appeal 👍
You actually go over and then under the keepers so it locks in. Kind of like a motorcycle helmet strap
Oh dear, Zenith really is a poor quality product.
Not sure about that. I had issues with multiple Tudors. My IWC has poor lume application, I know of a Patek that was take. Out of packaging and would not wind. Not to mention the issues with the latest crop of Rolex movements. The customer service from zenith was exemplary, that made a massive difference. The watch is fine now and I love it.
Bought the 39 on a bracelet which was great. Tried out the black rubber for a few months and was great. Bought a red zealande bespoke strap and used the spare buckle from the divers extension and it is now on for good. Looks and feels amazing. Now rotate with a BB monochrome on a rubber/deployant, bluesy on a bicolour, blue pelagos 42 on the titanium bracelet, Tudor gmt on steel bracelet and a blue 58 on a blue leather/deployant. All similar as I love the style but all very different.
Forgot to add.... I find the strap on the 39 is a bit of a pig to swap over. Agree it really does need a quick release
It’s a beautiful thing.
I think the CTS strap is decent for the cost but would have been happy to pay more for a much better clasp i.e. no sharp edges and polished steel, along with pulling less hairs.
Agree. The clasp is not up to the price. The drilled holes aren’t now great. Could be more micro adjust slots and it is quite sharp on the edges.
@@wheelsandwatches Yep too many sharp edges, once its on its fine, the black rubber matches very well with my Grand Seiko Quartz SBGX261, their cheapest watch but IMO their best....I wonder if the black finished clasps feel less sharp due to the paint/finish.......
@501CM yeah not sure but not spending the money to find out.
I appreciate your honesty. This will be my next watch. I hope Tudor addresses some of the issues you mention, but honestly I'd take one as-is. cheers mate.
Do you mind if I ask what you used to refinish the links and clasp as looks like new as you say in the video.
No problem at all. Grey 3m scotch brite pad 👍
Hi is it grey 3m scotch brite ultra fine pad?
It is, yes.
The 5 link bracelet with T-Fit clasp from the latest BB41 fits on this watch. Brent L Miller dropped a vid. Why Tudor doesn't offer a toolless microadjust clasp on the chunker BB GMT is a real headscratcher.
You wouldn’t want a shiny SS bracelet on a TI watch I don’t think. I think they will. It will be on what ever the next release is of the 41 GMT. I imagine it will come in the case of the new monochrome 41 and have same bracelet and clasp options.
@@wheelsandwatches The BB Pepsi GMT is titanium?
The stainless steel 5 link bracelet from the stainless steel BB41 diver released this year fits the stainless steel BB 41 GMT Pepsi and opaline. Did I comment on rhe wrong video?
@exvan3571 ah sorry I thought this was a comment on my Pelagos video! Good that the monochrome bracelet and clasp fit. If they release this in the new monochrome case I might revisit it.
@@wheelsandwatches no worries! Great channel
To each their own … the 39 Is scrawny in my view. Either get the real Pelagos or just look for something else. I have the Blue & it’s an absolute solid all-around piece. Zenith has zero design appeal .. the brand is all about busy layouts & trying to be different. All of that comes at the cost of aesthetics; complete waste of money.
Literally to each their own! lol. I did own the Pelagos 42 but couldn’t get a good fit and while I liked it, it was too large and one dimensional for my taste. I couldn’t disagree more about zenith. I think that make some lovely watches from the modern to the revival series. Enjoy you watches chap 👍
Agree about the Pelagos. Yeah, it's big, but that's why it's made with titanium. It's the only one of the line that captures the design perfectly and also gives you the practical (and better looking) options of the bracelet and rubber strap. The 39's proportions are wrong and the bezel is a mess, and the FXD is for cosplay. A watch that you can only wear on a NATO strap has zero versatility.
@WaterJake different strokes and all that. I think my favourite Tudor is the Pelagos 39. I like the bezel and and dial. They are what make it more wearable in many occasions. Not sure what you mean about proportions. The case height to width to bracelet taper etc are all spot on. It has to my mind the best proportions of all the Tudor dive watches from the side with thinner mid cases and thicker bezel too.
Yeah sell that boring watch. Tudor is boring. Every Tudor is Black Bay 😂
True. Every other watch TH-camr sucks it off
You’ve betrayed me 👺
Please, tell us, 5 things what you don’t like in this watch
I don’t have 5. Only things are… - No quick change strap system. - Rubber strap could be softer. That’s it! It really is a great watch.
How is the lume on the hands vs the indices? I’ve heard that they can be a hit and miss with the hands missing out on intensity and duration.
It is fine. The lume is longer lasting on the blocks but I would expect that.
What platform are you selling it on. It’s a great example!
Selling on a forum called tz forums and on the Tudor FB group called ‘Tudor watch club’ (81.7k members one). I used to use eBay but fees are silly.
Happy for you to get in touch if you fancy it?
Looking for one 😊
@lawrencekoster4554 feel free to get in touch. It is also on eBay now. I would go lower than the eBay price for a private sale.
@@wheelsandwatches can you share a link of the listing?
I don't see what rolex you could mistake the pelagos for? It doesn't look like the submariner unlike the new black bay black which does very much look like a sub. Either way it's great watch and surely if you're only going to get say 50% of its new cost better to just hold on to it. But I hear what you say. Also it seems that you love it😂
I think it does get mistaken for a sub on occasion. That’s not a reason to sell it though it does stop me wearing it in London. I will probably lose £500 as I bought it for £3.5k and I think £3k. I am happy with that.
The zenith is a curse and blessing for you. It’s so good that it’s made others redundant.
That’s how I feel. It has changed my view on how many watches I want to own. I am sure that view will change again at some stage!
Damn, you got it on release day.
I got exactly the same watch, partly due to your enthusiasm, and I love it. Very understated, and I do not find myself looking over my shoulder all the time as I did when wearing the watch I traded in for the Zenith. I have thankfully not had any of the chronometer problems you encountered, but I am a bit underwhelmed by the accuracy. I'm losing about 5-7 seconds a day, which I suppose isn't all that bad, but, um, well... I don't tend to wind it, which might explain things a bit. Do you wind yours often? And if so, do you think it affects the accuracy? I'm mostly paranoid about wearing down the winding mechanism.
Glad you like it and it has changed my thoughts on a watch collection for the moment which I did not expect. I love the watch and it takes up almost all my wrist time. Even after almost a year of ownership. That has never happened before. My first one was listing 4.5 seconds per day. Since getting my replacement and asking for it to be more accurate it runs at minus 1.5 seconds per day. My one gripe with zenith is lack of guarantee over accuracy. For a company known and regarded for its movements it’s a bit of a shambles. Knowing how tightly they can be regulated I would get in touch with zenith to have it sent back and regulated. It can be done! If you are on the U.K. Stuart Lord is the LVMH rep and is incredibly to deal with.
Try rolling the strap to create a curve, before putting it on the watch.
I have “real” watches and a lot of them. I have a friend who buys the #MaMaCoo we put them side by side and guess what ?! It’s unbelievable!!! I am at the Rolex boutique with her and no one can tell he has a fake
I think with that amount to spend (which is considerable) I would buy a 718 gts 4.0 but I hear what you're saying you want a totally different experience. So maybe a honda nsx, wouldn't go wrong so way cheaper to run than a maclaren 😊
I did look at the NSX bit it’s a bit dull and surprisingly expensive to service and extended warranty is painful too I seem to recall. I was all set on the 718 gt4 until I realised what else was out there for similar money.
Wow that batman voice😅
Haha, if only! It’s horrible hearing your own voice.
Whats with the garbage “music”
Ha. I quite like it.
Very informative video as I am considering this Brand. Can you supply the exact strap this is as they have several on their website, thanks.
barkandjack.com/products/grey-ribbed-nylon
@@wheelsandwatches Thank you, although the one in the video looks black or is this a function of your lighting?
@michaellazaar1838 lighting. It’s the grey one.
Does it show the scratches much? Lovely watch
No more or less that my steel omega.
@@wheelsandwatches good to know thanks. I’ve only had steel watches
@rob7601 this is my first titanium watch. One benefit is it is very easy to refinish
@@wheelsandwatches do you just send it off like a steel one? Same cost? Tbh I’ve never. Needed to send a watch off to be cleaned
@rob7601 no you can do it yourself with 3m grey scotch brite. I have heard Tudor won’t/don’t refinish their titanium watches. No idea why that would be and not sure if it’s true.
looks better on the leather strap... like the rose gold version with black strap
I have small wrists and fits comfortably and love it. Best looking dive watch in the world. I love mine 136660-003.
