    Brent, it is so refreshing to hear you talk about supporting US manufacturers. I wish more of our society thought like you and me 👊🏼

    Love the Clevor iterations! More please!! Been serious thinking of going this route with my 351w in my truck.

    Very cool video. I have a set of these 195's on my mild Cleveland street engine an am very satisfied. My Edelbrock Air Gap is a very close port match.

    I am learning first hand the obstacles of putting Cleveland heads on a 302. Most people would say "just use Windsor heads," but where is the fun in that? I am using OC 2v heads and doing silly tricks to get the flat top 351C piston to within .040 of the spark plug boss for some limited squish. I will not know if it is a viable route until its way past the point of no return.😝 I am glad to watch a real engine builder do the deed.

    Really interested in your "Boss 302" build, especially the cam selection. Those heads should be just about perfect. Subscribed.

      not sure you’ll get much cam detail from Brent but he’ll sell you one of his custom ground cams after you approve of the dyno results

      CHI 185 much better choice for that small engine

      @@lykinsmotorsports Because the port has less Xsection and more flow

      CHI 185 is not close to these. About 25 cfm off.

    Nice looking heads Brent, especially the combustion chambers and valve heads. Would the 195cc runner be big enough on a 408 Cleveland with an RPM air gap or would you recommend the larger port? Tim Australia 🇦🇺

    Looking forward to the 8.2 Clever build. The Edelbrock 7129 intake works great, power to 7K, unported.

    • @joecraine4660
      @joecraine4660 19 วันที่ผ่านมา

      The 7129 has 1 port that only flows 289 cfm, and one flows 352 cfm.

    Would love to see how a B&A street boss would perform as I don’t think anyone has ever published a Dyno sheet with one
    Very interested in this build as I’m going to do a cnc’d 2v Aussie cc iron head build with street boss intake and maybe cast iron exhaust manifolds as well

  • @mp4051
    @mp4051 18 วันที่ผ่านมา

    That cast iron Cleveland head is an HO casting (Basically a Boss 351 with open chambers) A fairly rare head.

    Hey Brent, what would be NEAT is to do a NASCAR build and show us what they do to make power. 🤔 HAPPY new YEARS. Bob

    Now that the Cleveland heads are gaining popularity i am very curious about a Boss 302 from a GT40p explorer engine. Maybe if you provide a easy solution I may go this route in my 1953 F100 build in the future?

  • @drcolster
    @drcolster 18 วันที่ผ่านมา

    They look like a nice casting, i would think that head would be better if it was changed to a high port style, get rid of most of the ramp up and over floor style, as per original ford cleveland.. Brent , you like the CHI and have used many, have you ever had any with bad seat jobs, rough finish, cannot clearly see the 45 seat, scratched up ???....

    Eh dude. I don't know about esteem and putting TrickFlow Fe Heads on a throne. I had tryd getting a pair year and half 2 yrs ago on order for 1yr no email response of but few. I contacted BBM told them my story of TrickFlow and we talked I canceled my order on the TrickFlow and Bbm had my heads built to my camshaft specs. And 4 to 5 months later I had them. And John Kaase uses BBM so. I think my heads from BBM look darn good regardless of South Korea materials.

    • @lykinsmotorsports
      @lykinsmotorsports  8 วันที่ผ่านมา

      The only issue with TFS is availability. Foundry issues are following them since Edelbrock moved away from California. As far as performance goes, I've used many different cylinder heads with FE's and the Trick Flows always outperformed the BBM heads. I advise customers to wait if they can. Not sure what you ended up paying for your assembled BBM heads, but the TFS head is a big performer for just $2600 a pair.
      As far as blocks go, I have a few here that are tied to builds and once they're gone, I will not accept any more. The quality is poor for what you pay: oil leaking out of porous areas on the outside of the block, caps not machined square, distributor holes not in the correct spot, bearing tangs ground backwards, oil gallery drill throughs, etc. You just never know what you're gonna get.
