    Hey The Ryan Fam!!! YAY!!! Love seeing some "family" out adventuring, and we love that you guys are in Iceland. We want to visit there someday!! That is so amazing that the Geothermal energy does a big bulk of the heating!! That's crazy that hot water is straight from the ground!! The Lava tubes are amazing to see, and 5200 years.. it's no joke! The way people have adapted to enjoy living in such a unique environment is amazing!! That was a fabulous tour and we think those Nordic countries are so far ahead of their time with many aspects of living and society!! Thanks for taking us with you and we look forward to seeing you again!! Much love and stay safe and HAPPY PRIDE MONTH!!

      Happy pride month!! Yes, the Nordic countries feel light years ahead of us. They've got shit figured out. We really got a sense that Iceland takes care of its people--excellent education, high minimum wage, tons of social programs. And sooo gay friendly. It's just not even an issue over there. Gays are totally accepted.

      @@theryanstravel1699 Bears heritage is Norwegian/Swedish... and we definitely want to hit all the Nordic countries someday! We have had a Manifestation Itinerary on our fridge for the past 2 years.. so we can wish it into existence!! Just gotta save up that $12K for a few week trip. Too far to fly for only a week!!

    Eww oh no eggy water! That's a big bag of nopes for me.
    I've always been fascinated with geothermal energy so this was neat to watch. What a juxtaposition it was seeing you going into that cave from the frozen white tundra to seeing moss growing on the walls.

    One of my daughters went to Iceland a couple of years ago now, and she had a great time.. The only downside to her trip was just how expensive everything was there, and she said it was the most expensive place she had ever visited, but she said she would like to go again.. Excellent video my friends, and i like your channel too, and i just hit that most important button... Carl

    • @theryanstravel1699
      @theryanstravel1699  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We couldn't agree more with your daughter. Iceland is shockingly expensive. The plane tickets to get there are reasonable... but once you get there, prices feel very high. Having pondered why this might be the case, there are some obvious and good answers about the cost of everything. Employees are paid livable wages--even grocery store employees might start at $20ish per hour. Education is phenomenal in Iceland. There are many social programs. The healthcare system is comprehensive. So, with all that factored in the prices actually more closely reflect what it costs to run a prosperous country. You probably have a better sense of this being a Brit. In the U.S. we just expect everything to be cheap, cheap, cheap.

      What a lovely note to read. Your Finnish roots show in your beautiful blond hair :) We fell in love with Iceland's snowy landscapes. Most people travel there during summer, but it was enchanting in January. The scant daylight hours messed with our internal clocks. Seeing the sun rise at 10:30am was quite strange. And the weather was phenomenal. Snowy, windy, sunny, rainy, blizzardy... We loved the rollercoaster ride of changing weather. So great to meet you Charlotta!
