Rachel Fusaro well I’m just binge watching your vids at the moment because I’m getting my puppy tomorrow that I will keep forever but he was in the shelter because the breeder didn’t want the puppies and all the other dogs were too big for me so I wasn’t allowed to get one of them
Rachel Fusaro my dog archer (husky German shepherd) learnt better with toys because his treats that he goes for are fresh bits of meat (fresh) he’s not interested in small treats and the treats he does like are hard to cut up he does well with squeaky toys and commands he knows sit + down and from the down position we taught him “relax” which means his head goes down he lays on his side and raises an arm and gets belly scratches for the next 30 seconds. As a puppy he loved cat toys and gravitated towards them which is fine even though they easily got destroyed which I knew would happen but he doesn’t destroy other things now he loves huge kong (kong is a brand) toys. And if I bring a squeaky toy it’s the surest way to get his attention. He’s almost one and a half and has never bitten anyone or even gotten in a fight with out of control dogs. I’m really proud of him and the people that sent scared of big dogs get a surprise with how much he loves affection 😂
maureen kasirye as a puppy he also came on a road trip with us and was amazing I honestly would recommend it to most people it’s so much fun
I taught my puppy to sit, stay, and to “drop it” and I am currently teaching her to lie down. :)

If youre trying to train your dog to be respectful and obedient i wouldnt recommend the high pitch noises or baby talk, similar to a squeaky toy you can find at the pet store, the high pitched noises cause the dog to get excited witch can distract them from what you are trying to teach them making the teaching process longer and harder for you. Talk to your dog like you would talk to anyone else to reduce the excitement and keep the focus on the task you are teaching

When I’m training my puppy or want him to listen I use my regular voice and that’s when he knows I’m not playing... great tip.
They respond better to high pitch in the beginning. Not discrediting this notion but like anything else the regular voice worked into from high pitch is highly effective.
I don’t like using the word yes because anytime I’m talking to someone and I say yes the puppy will look at me thinking she is getting a treat so are using clicker instead just my info My clicker has a bracelet with it so I carry it everywhere also I am training my pup to be a service dog

He was standing like you said so I put the treat closer to his body and waited and he did his "down"! Jackpot!

Okay you are a freakin life saver! I have a 5 month old winner mix and she is like hyper active and she don’t wanna listen. I saw your crate train and I’m definitely gonna be doing that with her cause she has separation anxiety and I wanna train her the commands.

Some people swear by clicker training! It is a solid method, but I was never consistent with it. i always lost the clicker, haha #momfail Go GiGi!!!

I use a trucker for training tricks and behavior so he knows there is defo a treat because when I praise I don’t always give a treat so it just more convenient 😊💗xx

Hello there! Any advice how to teach a really really tiny puppy to lay down? Guiding with a treat doesn't work for us at the moment because he is so small, there us not enough space for hand movements.

Hi Rachel, I'm new to your channel and have commented on other videos, feeding regimens in particular. I'm a little confused. You're rewarding with kibble and you said this is how you "feed" him three times a day. Is this a "raw" based kibble? I thought you stated elsewhere that there are certain brands of "kibble" you are ok with but is he getting anything else during the day. My puppy seems to be food motivated as well but I don't want it to become her getting overfed with training and normal meals.
I just subscribed to your channel. Love your videos. Need some advice about how to train my new puppy. I had him since August 13 of this year. He is a three month Olde English Bulldogge named Chesty (lilac tri). I notice Chesty is a bit stubborn. I don't know if it is due to his age or breed but at times he tends not to listen. Hello! I love your videos congrats! My question is i have a 8 weeks toy poodle puppy it has been 5 days now he likes his crate now I think ;) he goes by himself inside for his afternoon nap and bedtime I got the crate in one room. But i bought 2 different types of treats and he would eat them for training purposes but he doesn’t get like your dogs very excited and also he barely eats 1/3 cup dry food This is the one the breeder was giving him but I could say he’s not looking forward to meal time . Maybe he’s picky? Maybe is because he’s really tiny less than 2 lbs. ?
I love your videos I just recently adopted my first puppy three days ago. She just turns seven weeks on Wednesday. I’m so eager to train her. I purchase some puppy treats that were soft and try to give it to her but I think that she’s not ready for the treat training. Any suggestions?

Hi, love your videos. My dog is 9 months old. He's a schnoodle. I use WagAboutIt hypoallergenic shampoo, but his fur isn't smooth or silky. It seems dry. What kind of shampoo and conditioner do you recommend?
