- Want to learn how to create animated maps in PowerPoint 365?
I'll show you how to create an animated map in PowerPoint 365, using the Morph transition. We'll use the mapsvg.com site to download free SVG vector maps to allow us to download maps of the world and all countries.
You can insert these SVG files into PowerPoint 365 to animate a country map or world map if you like.
Note: Editing SVG images feature is only available to Microsoft 365 Subscribers for Windows desktop clients.

Thanks heaps Ronny... really appreciate it! 😊
Hey! Can you help me with my project? I really like this way of displaying infographics. But unfortunately I don't have access to convert SVT to PPTX. Could you create a template with a map of Polish regions by dividing them into different images? It would really help me learn for the future.
Amazing, this will come in very handy.
One question, how do i remove unwanted borders, for example, if i want to remove the border between the netherlands and belgium...?
Thanks again!
so amazing ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Glad to see you liked it! 😊 Please check out my new video coming out later tonight too. 👍
Hi!I'm wondering if i save this as a document and have to send it to someone will the map still move like it does on my laptop?
Bagus, Mas. Terimakasih
Thanks! 😊👍
this looks great, but i have stumbled accross some problems whilst trying to make the same map (but with romania)
1. i cannot find the "convert to shape" button anywhere
2. my language is stuck on romanian and i really need to change it
3. most of the other buttons that can be seen on your screen are not present on mine
Hey is there anyways i can download ocean maps..say for example the south china sea ?
Brother which software you are using to make this map ?
Hey bud awesome video. I wondered if it would be the same process if I was to make an nz iwi map?
Kia ora Leah! Thanks so much! 😊
If you've got access to an NZ Iwi map in SVG form, that includes those regions, then it would absolutely work. It might be hard to find an SVG form of that map though, so might need to be created yourself. Have a great day!
Excellent !!!! Why the download link is not working?
i have downloaded the South African map. but the download is in an .svg format.
i can't open this in Powerpoint. is this because it is only compatible with MS 365? i use MS office Professional plus 2013.
sir my problem that i added converted to shapes but it's not working i have searched on youtube and google how to fix it but all in vain
Is there an accurate way to add cities?
Thanks a lot. Excellent tutorial.
I have a request - I always wanted to create an animated travel map for my trips with my travel routes superimposed on the map.
Can this be done using powerpoint?
And, do you have a tutorial on that.
Cheers.
Thanks so much! So happy you enjoyed it! 😍👍
I'm sure you could do something with lines showing the direction, but the difficult trick would be making the line grow as it travels between destinations during the morph. Would need to figure out a way. Unfortunately I don't have a tutorial on that at the moment, but will certainly keep it in mind with my planning. 😊
@@CrazyGoodPowerPoint thanks. Cheers.
For some reason, after duplicating the original map and applied the grouping, animation, etc. the latter didn't work. What did I do wrong?
how can you open file .sgv by using powerpoint?
Thank you so much, can we use this animated map as a video in an editing software
Yes, you sure can. You can simply export the presentation as an MP4 and then insert that into your video editing software for further video editing. Thanks for watching! 😊👍
why I can't use convert to shape ?
I can not convert the svg image to emf, and after i did that i still can not convert it to shape :(
Thank you so much for this, the video and explanation is so helpful! But I am not able to convert the map to shape, for some reason that tool is disabled on my power point. Is there another way of going around this problem? I am trying to work with a USA map
Thanks so much. I'm really happy to hear you like it and found it helpful! 😍
I have since found that converting SVG files into shapes is only available to Microsoft 365 subscribers.
So I have converted it to shapes for you and added it into a slide for you to download. Hope your presentation turns out really well for you. 😊

@@CrazyGoodPowerPoint Wow, you are so kind! Thank you so much, truly! I hope you have a wonderful day.
My pleasure! Have a great day too. 😊
Hello thank you for the video, I don't have the convert to shape option active.
Hi Mag, I'm sorry to hear that. The feature for editing SVG images is only available to Microsoft 365 subscribers for Windows desktop customers. I've updated the video description to include this. Sorry if this isn't available for you.

I need this all on one slide is it possible
Dear Si,
I can't convert to shape in the PowerPoint . Why?
same and idk why
when I drag the file onto the slide there's no map shown just a link
Mate can you make a video about making an animated map of your road trip: a la RELIVE?
Hello and thanks for watching. 🙂 I've never heard of Relive, but have checked it out... looks really impressive! Doing that sort of 3D map would be near impossible in PowerPoint, but some of their ideas could possibly be done. I'll have a play and will keep that in mind! 👍
Hello can you please download Pakistan Map for me because i only see a svg sign on powerpoint after download
How do i do that when you convert the map into shape? I don't have that option in my powerpoint. Is there any other way to do it? By the way I am using Microsoft office Home and student 2016
Hi Cherry, sorry but the Convert to Shape feature is only available to Microsoft 365 subscribers. If you know someone with a Microsoft 365 subscription, they can convert it for you and then send it back as shapes for you to continue working on it. 😊
Does the PowerPoint animation used in this project works when exported to a video editing appa like Filmora 11?
Thanks for watching! Once you've got your slides set up, you can go to File > Export > Create a Video and simply export the animated slides as an MP4 video file. You can then bring that file into any video editing software, such as Filmora, to edit and include in your video.
Let me know how this goes for you and hope it helps you! 😊
my graphic wont change to shape
not showing morph transition in my ppt 😓
Can this be exported and put into a video made with CapCut? :))
Thanks so much for watching! Once you've got your slides set up, you can go to File > Export > Create a Video and simply export the animated slides as an MP4 video file. You can then bring that file into any video editing software, such as CapCut, to edit and include in your video.
Let me know how this goes for you and hope it helps you! 😊
i cant convert it to a shape the button is gray
Hye, sorry to disturb you..can i know how can i change the format of the map? because when i tried to put the download world map directly to the ppt, it only appear the svg icon
Thanks for watching the video! When I created this video, I have since found out that importing SVG files into PowerPoint is only available to Microsoft 365 subscribers.
If you know someone with that version, they can insert the SVG, convert it to Shapes and then send it back to you to continue editing.
Was there a particular country map you were after? Let me know and I'll convert it for you. It's very easy for me to do. 🙂
Here's the support article from Microsoft if that helps. 🙂

@@CrazyGoodPowerPoint OMG Thank youuuu soo soo muchhh! May God bless you and have a nice day too! Definitely will tag and give you credit in our project later on😊
Thank you for this tutorial!
I have one question though, when I right-click the map after I inserted it to PowerPoint, I can't see the convert to shape option.
I'm using PowerPoint 2016, Could you please tell why is this happening?
Hi Omar, thanks for watching. 👍😊
I've just looked this up and unfortunately the feature that allows you to convert an SVG to a shape is only available to PowerPoint 365 subscribers. I wasn't aware of this before.
Here's the link to the Microsoft article that talks about this.
support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/edit-svg-images-in-microsoft-office-365-69f29d39-194a-4072-8c35-dbe5e7ea528c
Sorry to hear it's not available in your version.
@@CrazyGoodPowerPoint Thank you so much for your quick reply! ❤

@@CrazyGoodPowerPoint 😊
i have PowerPoint 2019 but i can´t Ungroup any map please Help me☹☹🙏🙏🙏
won't let me convert to form
Make a video how you make your thumbnail please
I'll keep that in mind for future videos! Thanks 👍😍
Keyframe????
Is there another way to do this without morph? My PowerPoint 2016 doesn't have it.
Hey Lyka, thanks for watching! 😊 I'm sure you could do something reasonably similar with animations, but it would just take more time and a bit trickier. Morphing makes this really simple, so it's a pity you haven't got access to it.
i don't have PowerPoint ):
Can you hElp me wth transferring of the image on ppt . I have tried the way you have shown in the video but mine ends up showing only the logo og microsoft edge and nothing more. Pleae help I really need to learn to use map
Hello. When you download an SVG (Scalable Vector Graphic) it's default program to open in will be whatever your default web browser is.
To move it into PowerPoint, simply click and drag the file onto a blank slide. So long as your PowerPoint isn't taking up the full screen.
Also, I have just researched and found that only the PowerPoint 365 version supports SVG files it seems.
What version are you on?
Here's the support article from Microsoft if that helps. 🙂
support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/insert-icons-in-microsoft-office-e2459f17-3996-4795-996e-b9a13486fa79
@@CrazyGoodPowerPoint Thank you so much for the instant reply. Yes I am on a different version of PPT and my default browser is chrome but still ......i guess i have to figure out on the above two parametres that you have guided me with . Thanks a ton
Let me give you a helping hand. If you let me know which country map you need, I'll convert it into shapes in a blank slide for you. I'll then add a download link here in the comments once I've done that. 🙂
@@CrazyGoodPowerPoint That is very generous of you. But won't it will be too much work for you?..... Hesistant to say yes....But I need it...What will be the charges?
I need Albania for a presentation🙁🙁🙁
Hi Mommo, I just had a look and unfortunately they don't have Albania listed, which is strange. ☹️
Can I suggest that you download the full world map instead? Then once you have it in PowerPoint, make it really big, convert it to a shape and you should then be able to get Albania that way. However, it won't have any regions within the SVG file, but at least it gets you some of the way. Hope that helps and thanks for watching! 😊
This is way too much work.
I LOVE YOU!!! THIS IS WHAT I'M LOOKING FOR.
And btw the instruction is DOPE!!!
Thanks so much Hoàng! 😍 I'm so happy that this is what you were looking for and that you found it helpful! Hope your PowerPoint project turns out great! 👍😁
