That is one of the nicest knives I’ve ever seen and I’m not really a big hinderer fan but you can’t deny the beauty and craftsmanship that’s in this one
He put so much money into it... because he can! If it's such an amazing knife stock, why NOT deck it out! Such a beauty! I fully support every decision he made on this knife! :)
I agree so much with this video..as for random comments from people..I got one the other day where the person told me that they understand that opinions are subjective but that my opinion was wrong because they disagreed with it...people never cease to amaze me😂
I think that most people got into the knife world for necessity and practicality. I started with a fishing knife, then I slowly started to appreciate all the work and materials that goes into making one. It would be cool to see where everyone started and where they are now.
I know for me, it was the kershaw kuro that got me into knives. I had gotten my first one at 15. Absolutely beat the crap out of it for the next 4 years until it got lost on a job site. Bought another one the next day and had that for about 3 years or so.
I used to get gas station knives on family trips as a kid. One place we always stopped at on our way to Utah was in Barstow, CA. Specifically Barstow Station with a Mikey D's, Subway, and a Panda Express in it (anyone from SoCal will know this place). There was a section that had a glass cabinet full of knives (all cheap garbage), but I loved the cool designs as a kid! I didn't really collect them when I was young, but I did enjoy having knives to use on hiking and fishing trips, as well as in a survival kit (loved watching Survivorman back in the day). Friends and family would get me "better" knives to use in my survival kits like Smith & Wesson and Remington. I suppose this is a collection, but I didn't consider it a collection when I was a kid. Serious collecting didn't start until very recently, at least in the last 3 years. I am 30 years old now. Now I am slowly replacing all the cheap ones with Microtech, Benchmade, Boker, Kershaw (the good ones), all stored safely in a Pelican V200. I like to rotate through all my knives, but my newly aqcuired Benchmade Bailout can't get out of my pocket. lol I've got the knife bug and there's no getting rid of it now. I am in too deep. XD
I had a cold steel for a decade growing up. Only knife, carried it everyday. Used it in the shop, camping, fishing, everywhere. Broke the tip off and reground it, no big deal. Eventually I lost it and was knifeless for a year while waiting for a sebenza. I accidentally brought it to the airport on a business trip and had to sacrifice it. Got up to a dozen knives while waiting for a sebenza directly from CRK. Sold all of them (titanium only, shiros, every slysz spyderco, chebrukov, etc) and got two grails. I really dislike flippers. Found out I didn’t appreciate the grails. I am going to sell them because because I only carry two knives anyways. A small PJ sebenza 31 and a praetorian slim tanto with flamed hardware that was directly ordered from the manufacturer. I am interested in finishing out the titanium collection with a hinderer then getting a spyderco pm2 or 3 to keep in the car for camping, fishing, and hiking trips instead of taking an expensive knife that could be lost in the wilderness.
I’m so glad I waited until I got home and got a chance to wind down and get gatoraded to oblivion and back before I watched this. I didn’t retain much of what you said I mostly just stared at the screen in total lizard brain mode like Jack Nicholson in that one scene in the Shining. Anyway, I was going to stick up for the monochrome folks in the room and say that my desire for my knives to be all grey or earth tones is mostly an OCD thing lol my stuff has to match to a certain degree and grey full ti gear goes with everything. So does black and earth tone stuff for myself, because I mostly wear black/ grey/ earth tone clothes. I got Ultem skinny scales for my shaman and immediately went on an Ultem streak for a month. Flash forward to today and I have a pen, bit driver, beads, fixed blade, shaman, slip joint, key hook, 2 SFK’s, and a spike all made out of Ultem 😅 all of this to say, I like what I like man 😂 As does Scott. The man DEFINITELY has a type lol.
as someone who does things in his garage, a flawless mirror polish is pretty doggone hard to do. there are a lot of people better than me at it but it still takes time and care for sure
Love. It ! I'm sure it worth every penny it cost .x 2 it's probably not for sale for Any Price. ! Thanks for sharing. I've always carried a Swiss army Knife in the bottom of my pocket. I never Cut anything with my nicer. EDC .And I carry a different one Every DAY . They All bring me Joy .🤑😄✌️
Great job by everyone involved 👍🏻. I'm a little sad there's one less flipperless fullered in the wild for me to try scoop up. @Scott congratsnon another show piece.
Wow this is amazing esthetically knife looks so good. Not much of a Hinderer fan I've had a few I just couldn't keep up with the Jones 💵lol... but you have some amazing Hinderer knives bro I completely get why you are such a fan boy of them. This knife is spectacular 💯🔥👍
That Hinderer is off the charts beautiful.... Now I want one... 😁 Now I have to find a way to get the funds... I wonder how much I could get if I sold a kidney... Lol
They took a great knife and turned it into art. I don’t have an instagram but I’m gonna have to borrow my wife’s so I can check out the rest of his collection.
I mirror polished the flats on a spaded designs spinner in stainless and just those small spades took about two weeks. I could have done it quicker I’m sure but my damn arms felt like jelly from all the sanding so I could only do a couple hours a day !
That makes sense about the mirror polish. Which would you say is best for corrosion resistance other than mirror polish like satin, bead blast, tumbled, glass bead, ??im gonna assume satin ?!?
People like to collect 🤷♂️ I recently got into knives, and just in the past month, I've purchased 3 knives starting from 100 dollars up to 350 dollars a piece. I'm about to purchase myself another one just going through my process before I hit that buy now 😆 I really think my next knife is going to be an Arcform Slimfoot with a Damasteel blade. If it makes you happy and you can afford it, then what is the big deal on how much it costs?
Not that I would be in the market for one anytime soon, but the timascus and textured scales stacked together looks a little too busy. One design interferes with the other. It really does begin to look like oil in a puddle at that point. Worse, the thumbnail made it look like insect holes. Plain fish scales would be the way I would configure it.
An absolutely beautiful piece of art! Everyone did a phenomenal job this knife!

I love Scott's knife's he has an amazing collection
Wow! That's a ridiculously cool knife and I like the fuller on this model.
Looks like rockstead planted their seed inside a hinderer. It’s pretty sweet.
Omg that knife is amazing and beautiful I would give anything for that knife

14:28 My curiosity has been sated MISTER COMPLEX!!!
That is a beautiful knife! A true Grail! Scott has an amazing collection! It’s surprising that more people are not into mirror polishing there blades?
That is a life altering knife alot of hours there .
I clicked on the video because I love blue scales on a knife. Awesome piece of Art

Yeah, Scott's collection is just amazing. I just love the ones he puts up on Instagram. 🤩🤩🤩
This will keep knife modders books full.
That mirror polish blue is so beautiful 😭
as someone who does things in his garage, a flawless mirror polish is pretty doggone hard to do. there are a lot of people better than me at it but it still takes time and care for sure
I’m just a lowly plebeian, that comments on these knives.. but I love it!
Really love it. Beautiful piece! I’m a sucker for a mirror blade and I have done a couple. But it’s not easy or quick to do.

Wow. Thats fucking beautiful! I don't own anything in that price range (yet) but, I can definitely appreciate it. One day, one day...
Great job by everyone involved 👍🏻. I'm a little sad there's one less flipperless fullered in the wild for me to try scoop up. @Scott congratsnon another show piece.

Got some flytanium scales coming for one of my spydercos but those scales are amazing
They took a great knife and turned it into art. I don’t have an instagram but I’m gonna have to borrow my wife’s so I can check out the rest of his collection.
Beautiful toenail clippers! 🤩
This video messed with my head. I found myself feeling like I would drop something priceless while picking up my coffee mug and flipping my Sencut.
there's clip inserts too!
That knife is GORGEOUS! I'm a big fan of the plain Ti or maybe DLC for a user but obviously this is not a user
Hey MC, Do you think the mirror polish on the xm18 is done as well as rockstead does a mirror polish?
I’d love to know a ballpark cost of putting that art together. I’d start saving now
Oooof. I’m waiting until tonight to watch this 🤤
My god this is beautiful!
That is amazing. Can they make scales for any knife?
I mirror polished the flats on a spaded designs spinner in stainless and just those small spades took about two weeks. I could have done it quicker I’m sure but my damn arms felt like jelly from all the sanding so I could only do a couple hours a day !
yeah its definitely crossed over from knife tool to painting tool. the knife is now a canvas for creative works.
That makes sense about the mirror polish. Which would you say is best for corrosion resistance other than mirror polish like satin, bead blast, tumbled, glass bead, ??im gonna assume satin ?!?
Satin
Now, if only he could send it back in and get the Hinderer horse head lasered back on the blade after mirror polish, that would be the ultimate
Pretty knife!
Masterpiece !!!!!!
It looks like a frickin Rockstead.
@6:15 first you quote DBZ, then Counter-Strike GO? You're on a "guilty entertainment pleasure" quote roll this week...
Beautiful
Wow that’s a grail knife if I ever saw one
Holy smokes!
