Sitting here watching this with stupid tears in my eyes and a lump in my throat because it brings back so many memories of my offshore sailing days. Congratulations on a great race and your second place finish. Well done!
Thanks! I’m not 100% sure what our distance was, but I know in cruising 3 we sailed the shortest distance. The distance for the race is 289.4 nautical miles.
@@davidreynolds1368 We did have a stopper knot in the spin sheets. The end connected to the spinnaker has a metal clasp, that came undone and is what made it free fly until it got wrapped around the forestay. The other spin sheet was the loose spin sheet and it went under the boat. We gathered everything at unfurled the jib.

I'm glad you enjoyed the video! We had a fantastic race. Hopefully you can get out on the water soon ⛵️
Nice video Nolan! It’s nice to see the Voyager crew rocking it 🎉 13 knots !!!
Thanks Camille!
Nice to see real sailing without autopilots!
Nice video. You might consider using a barberhauler on the genoa upwind. It could allow you to sail 2-3 degrees higher
Nice race, impressive you were at the top of the class the whole time. You need to watch those Chicago inspections, they can get ya.
Good work.

I’ve never sailed at night. I’m hearing stories about the storm. Seems very difficult to sail at night. Especially with weather
Enjoyed the video, definitely on my bucket list. What is the overall distance sailed?
That lake is huge!

Glad you had fun. Maybe not so much a stoper knot in your...SPIN SHEETS though...
