Very helpful, unfortunately, I don't have a helping hands station. BOY. THIS TOOK FOREVER. I had to use a pair of vise grips with a pair of pliers jammed in them to hold the board and led bulb at an angle. Found out the hard way by accident, that if you attempt to solder the new bulb on the board long enough, the whole old LED body will fall off, exposing just the original solder spots. After that, it didn't take anymore than 5 minutes to complete. But, I used this video to help, and you've been very helpful. If I wasn't broke, I'd send you some money.
Worked like a charm!!! Thanks for the video!!!
holy cow, what a process.. took me about an hour in a vw from '11 .. and 20 minutes was spent going to autozone and back cause i shorted a fuse.. lol
Glad to see you got it done! I should have probably disconnected the battery
Super helpful and detailed! I'm gonna try it on my explorer now, thanks for posting!
Thanks for commenting! Hope it all goes well for you!
Trashed my front dome light, had to ebay 2nd one, 🤞 pried the leds from the board ripping off the traces. Hope this time goes better 🙏

You did a great job.
I have had bad luck with those leds that you put in. Within a month they would stop working or even would blink off and on.
And what you gonna do with that led bulb when it burns?
Worked perfectly thank you!!!
There's a lot of components on that board for being a reading light.
Lohice en mi Ford Explorer 2013 y si funcionó gracias CDMX 14 SEP 2023
Worked perfectly in my 2018 explorer. Thanks!
Awesome to hear! Thanks for commenting
how did you make the metal wire come out of the light
I removed the light from its case
Damn Ford would make it hard like that. I ain’t even gonna try.
Would using a T5 bulb or LED chip be better for this ?? Which should i get?

Anyone know where you can find the same replacement LED chip so I could desolder the one one and replace it with the same thing but in cool white?
Never see this before, SMD LED how could you do that??
No canbus error code?
No sir
Makes me want to get rid of my 2013 escape idk why they made this model so dam difficult
i hate FORD, took you 3 hours to change LED while other brand cars take 3 min
How to change ford explorer 2015 that's very difficult, even the fuse box is small box.
How did you get the solder to stick
Thanks for commenting. If I remember correctly I made the solder get onto the board first then soldered the light onto it
Thank you thank you. Took me like an hour and I had trouble soldering but I had it some what soldered but my light didn’t turn on.
@@notkev202 oh no! Did you verify prior to soldering
@@S0nicpeed yeah I did but for reason it won’t turn on. But I’ll try again tmr.
@@S0nicpeed what type of solder did you use
Chip set bulbs are better man no need for cutting
!OMG!
Anyone know where we can just buy the aftermarket LED housing instead of doing all of this, christ.
