  • www.eczemaconquerors.com - In this episode, I'm incredibly excited because I interview Dr. Peter Lio, who's a Doctor & Clinical Assistant Professor at Northwestern University. He received his medical degree (and internship) at Harvard Medical School, and he serves on the Scientific Advisory Board for the National Eczema Association. He also co-founded the Chicago Integrative Eczema Center, which blends traditional medicine with alternative medicine.
This is one of my favourite interviews because Dr. Peter Lio is so full of passion and knowledge about eczema. I learned so much just from interviewing him!
    In this episode, we cover:
    -How acupuncture can help eczema
-Why acupuncture may not help eczema in some cases
-Why bathing can actually be beneficial in some cases of eczema
    -How to bathe properly
-What types of oils are good for your skin
-Why olive oil may not be so good for your skin
-How to deal with eczema in babies and toddlers
-Why people get eczema for the first time
-The hardest and easiest people to treat
-What happens to people with eczema in the long term

Great podcast Abby! This was super informative, and I love how passionate he is about healing his patients. I've always been scared of acupuncture, just because of my fear of needles... but it seems like something interesting to try out!

Thank you so much for posting this very informative and powerful video. I love the podcast series you are doing and the fact that you have invited experts so well versed in their field who have so much to say about eczema. If possible i would love to see another podcast with this doctor, he seems so passionate about what he does and i learned so much from him!

Thanks for this video, there are so little resources on eczema and I spent so much of my life not understanding it. I am really happy to have found your website and the podcast series as it helps me understand eczema so much more. I especially like how Doctor Lio said that many eczema patients feel so alone, I can relate to that. and when eh spoke about other people and families struggling so much with it, it made me feel sad but I like the idea of the centre he started and wished there was something like that in other countries!

so Dr. Lio said that olive oil is not good for using directly on the skin. What about taking it in orally? I've heard so many people say how great olive oil is....any thoughts on that?
    Thanks

In seawater, the Eczema patch can disappear after two or three days. The first patch becomes red and after white. Of course, it has to be treated and with some creams.
